I was there for an establishing care appointment. The whole appointment seemed very rushed, dont get me wrong I understand theres a lot to go through in an establishing care appointment but no where else have I felt THIS rushed to get through it all. So rushed that I skipped over the main reason I was even getting a new primary which was to potentially get a referral to a nutritionist for my high A1C and to sign a work release form. So she leaves the room abruptly after signing the medical release, apparently we were done with the rundown and the appointment was over. I go out to one of the assistants at the desks and say, I have a few questions about my A1C that werent addressed. Annoyed, the assistant said she would let the doctor know to come back around after she was done with her other patient or task or something. I finished my entire intake form and waited a good 20 minutes total. As the time kept ticking I thought they mightve forgot about me so I stepped outside of the exam room just to find out that apparently they did. Both the doctor and the assistant are sitting infront of computers, eating chips & gossiping. I said to the assistant," I will just figure it out myself." And left. Gave my intake form to the other desk attendant and left. I dont think Ill be back either. Out of everywhere Ive been all over tucson, this was the absolute worst experience I've ever had at any banner establishment ever. I typically really like banner offices, (banner hospitals and ERs had a bad lawsuit back in like 2022-2023 and botched my moms leg trauma stitches so I dont ever go there for emergencies) but this office, felt like it had worse quality of care than the hospitals. Like patients are just little lab rats to round on before you can get back to your normal tasks. I did not feel like they saw me as a human, rather just their job; which was extremely out of character for banner offices to me. I notice the Banners on houghton around rita ranch are the ones that have the most people with disengaged, careless attitudes. As if youre just another task to complete. 2 stars are for the nice desk ladies.

You never have to wait long for an appointment and even though they're internal medicine specialists, they give solid referrals when other types of medical treatment is indicated. For seniors and those on Medicare, they gladly accept you and handle all the billing in a professional manner. In fact, caring for seniors and their health issues is an area of their expertise. They really take care of you and take the time to listen so as make the best diagnosis and treatment plan. I highly recommend this clinic for all your medical needs.

After 7 months for trying to establish as as a new patient and Medicare claim being denied due to…read morethis office claiming routine examination and related services that aren't covered. This office made no attempt to change anything and resubmit the exact claim again without changing or adding to the claim for payment a second time. This office has been an exasperating experience. They said l must pay this $500.00 or appeal the claim. I have full Medicare and a second insurance which is already a hefty monthly fee that covers all properly filed bills. And this wasn't the only code issue. The other codes were for labs that were done that also had improper codes. This past February i even wrote a personal and confidential letter to Dr. Wijekularatne with all of these concerns. She nor anyone else from this office ever contacted me regarding this letter. This office it's very irresponsible! I decided to get medical care elsewhere and so far without billing complications and they even return phone calls!

Dr W is still accepting new patients even though she has no appointments available for the patients…read moreshe already has. She doesn't seem to care. She does not live up to her mission statement. She overbooks, does not return phone calls and does not respond to questions or patient concerns on her portal. There is no quality of care in her practice.

After not hearing anything back for a week... I called and left several messages... also sent a message after TWO weeks via the patient portal... I received no contact back at all... ever. I finally gave up and moved on to a PCP that was not totally disorganized and uncaring... the worst practice I have ever had the misfortune to come into contact with!
