I had an absolutely outstanding experience with Dr. Whipple and his entire team. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was in great hands. Dr. Whipple is not only incredibly skilled, but he also takes the time to communicate everything clearly and make sure you're comfortable with the treatment plan. His efficiency and attention to detail are truly impressive. I was especially amazed by the same-day crown service--it saved me multiple appointments and the result was perfect. I've also had a root canal done here, and the process was far smoother and more comfortable than I ever expected. It's clear that Dr. Whipple really cares about both the quality of his work and the experience his patients have. The entire staff contributes to making the office such a positive place. Nallely, the dental assistant, is wonderful. She is extremely polite, attentive, and does an amazing job of making you feel comfortable and relaxed during your appointment. Her friendly attitude really helps ease any nerves. Marlene is also fantastic--she is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to insurance and payment options. She took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me understand my coverage so there were no surprises. The office also offers great payment options, which makes getting the care you need much less stressful. Overall, this office is the perfect combination of professionalism, efficiency, and genuine care for patients. If you're looking for a dentist who provides excellent work, advanced services like same-day crowns, and a team that truly supports you every step of the way, I highly recommend Dr. Whipple and his staff.

From my very first visit, the entire team made me feel so comfortable and completely put my nerves at ease. The staff is absolutely amazing--everyone at the front desk and the assistants are so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. They go out of their way to make sure you feel cared for and never judged. Dr. Whipple is incredible. He's extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and takes the time to explain everything in a way that makes you feel confident and informed. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and wants the best outcomes for everyone he treats. I've actually since moved farther away, but I still travel back for my appointments because the care here is just that good. The whole experience at Cumberland Dental is professional, supportive, and so positive. I'm so grateful I found them and truly can't recommend this office and Dr. Whipple enough!

However I'm afraid that I'm going to be, again, in the market for a new one. I was waiting in the waiting area for my cleaning when I overheard the "girls" at the front desk talking about an incident that occurred two nights prior where a young female police officer and her partner were shot. (The young female officer lost her life and the young male officer is in critical condition.) one of the females who I will identify as "the hygienist" says, I can't wait to see what really happened, I bet they were really aggressive and that's why they got shot. You know male police officers are so aggressive" not females, but males. I bet they deserved it because it doesn't just happen." Now I don't know about you but if I'm a police officer and my coworker was just shot to death. I don't want to hear your ignorant opinion about a job you know nothing about. There's enough negativity and ignorance about policing, I certainly don't need to hear it at my dentist's office. The problem nowadays is that people don't know enough about being professional in a work environment and they certainly don't know when to keep their mouths shut. I would love for this woman to lose her job over the fact that she just lost a client but that probably won't happen. It really is a shame because I really do like Dr Alkass but I'm not going to give my business to a place I consider a hostile environment. UPDATE: Dr Alkass called shortly after this happened and was absolutely horrified about the situation. It turns out that the woman who was going to be cleaning my teeth was a temp who was taking the place of the excellent regular hygienist that they have named Milena. He assured me that the woman I encountered would not be back working at his business. We talked about the fact that in a professional environment there's just no place for that. Thank You Dr Alkass. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to give me a call as the last thing I wanted to do was leave your practice because you're so good at what you do.

The hygienist who worked on me was a temporary fill-in -- something I was never informed of beforehand and would have not felt comfortable with if informed. After the fact, I found out the dentist himself didn't even know her full name, how long she had been practicing, or what her experience level was. Despite that, the office allowed her to conduct my entire appointment unsupervised -- from X-rays to cleaning -- with no oversight. She attempted to begin a deep cleaning without any numbing solution. Thank God I asked for it, because even with numbing, I've never experienced pain like that during a cleaning. I had to ask her to stop -- something I've never had to do in my life. I told her she was hurting me, and that it felt like my teeth were being scraped down. She told me that was "impossible." But here we are today -- with almost all of my teeth now visibly jagged and shortened. I have before and after photos showing the damage. At my follow-up, the actual dentist barely acknowledged what happened. He offered no solution other than to "smooth out" my already damaged teeth by shaving them down even more. No accountability or further solution whatsoever. This office was recommended by my daughter's pediatrician -- and to say I'm disappointed is a major understatement. My smile will never be the same, and what she took from me can't be restored. All because the office allowed someone unvetted and unsupervised to work on me. Maybe if I had a different last name and wasn't a new patient, the care would have been different. I don't know. But what I do know is I'm disgusted, and I will be moving forward with formal complaints. Patients deserve transparency, professionalism, and basic respect -- none of which I received here.

Extremely Disappointing Experience - Beware…read more I usually don't write reviews, but I felt obligated to share what happened to me at this dental office. Despite all the glowing 5-star reviews, my experience was quite the opposite -- and I strongly urge others to approach with caution. I came in needing a simple filling for a cracked tooth. Dr. Hossam Abdelsalam did the first procedure, and the filling fell out within 2 days. I returned, and another (more experienced) dentist redid the work. That filling lasted about two months. Unfortunately, when I tried to get it fixed by a different dentist, my insurance wouldn't cover the rework -- so I was stuck going back. When I returned a third time, Dr. Hossam Abdelsalam was immediately defensive and confrontational. He accused me of doing something to "destroy" their work, which was not the case -- the filling came out during basic daily brushing and flossing. He then told me I needed a crown and refused to do another filling. I asked for their decision in writing -- they ignored the request. A few days later, I got a formal letter saying they would no longer treat me. On top of all that, their routine cleanings are very rushed -- nothing close to what I expect from a professional hygienist. It felt like they were cutting corners across the board. This experience has left me frustrated, dismissed, and now dealing with dental issues that could've been avoided with proper care. I'm about to report the situation to the dental board and am sharing this in the hope that others don't go through the same thing. Please be wary of the overly positive reviews and trust your gut.

First time into the office I felt uncomfortable as the hygienist asked me personal questions that I felt were intrusive. I brushed it off and thought maybe it's just her and the rest of the staff seemed nice. Then they made me schedule a entire second cleaning because "we don't have time to finish." I've never heard of this and it seems unethical to make me pay twice because you don't schedule enough time. Second visit just weeks later, to get a chipped tooth fixed. Dentist makes not one but two blatantly sexist remarks about female dentists, claiming "I can say that because my wife is a dentist." The assistant looked clearly upset and even said "that's in appropriate." I nodded in agreement. Third office visit and I don't even make it past the waiting room. The entire front desk staff are engaging in a conversation with a man at the front about how masks don't work(despite the staff wearing them while they work on you), how Covid is a hoax, calling Dr. Fauchi all these derogatory names, and engaging in a political conversation over divisive topics boldly infront of paying customers. I walked out. Not only has every interaction at this office felt unprofessional, it's been sexist and offensive. I will happily find a new Dentist!
