My husband went to see Dr. Connelly last month. Let me give you a little history about my husband. He has had degenerative disk disease due to untreated scoliosis as a child and has been treating this problem for 8+ years, with methadone as well as changed his diet, lost 70+ pounds and exercises almost everyday until he was turned away from another doctor because he was smoking marijuana to help alleviate the pain in addition to the methadone. As he gets older the pain gets worse as the condition worsens.
Dr. Connelly looked at my husband and told him to get his addiction under control. Nothing more other than to show him out the door and recieve payment for NO SERVICES rendered. Basically saying to my husband he is a drug seeker. What kind of doctor says that to someone? What kind of doctor turns someone away without asking even 1 question and apparently did not look at his records? My husband up until 2 years ago, worked every day, harder than anyone I've ever known. He was a fantastic provider for our family. HE is NOT a drug seeker, he is someone who shouldn't have to live every day in complete agonizing pain.
I understand that prescription drugs is an epidemic that is completely out of control but there are some people out there who cannot survive without some kind of pain management.
Would Dr. connolly rather he purchase from the street and then truly become addicted to street drugs, not monitored by a Dr. and then potentially turn to heroin like so many have? I think that this "man" is a terrible person and if you ask me I'm sure broke this part of the Hippocratic Oath " I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick"
By turning away my husband, drug seeker is not even an issue, he has no drugs, no pain medications, NO RELIEF! He is instead, lying in bed daily, can barely get up to go to the bathroom. He has turned into someone who has no relief and knows that each day that goes by there is no end in sight. My life is miserable as well, THANK YOU Michael Connelly! You have made a huge impact on my family's life.
Dr. (if that is what you can call yourself) Connelly, you should be ashamed of yourself and I don't know how you sleep at night.
Sincerely,
