I got a letter a few weeks ago that I was losing my glass coverage due to "excessive claims." Very weird so I dove into this and found that the claims were popping up incorrectly because my Father and I have the same name. His Geico agent sent me a letter dating and proving the claims were for him and had nothing to do with me. I was also told it was told I have to wait until claims fall off after a certain amount of time which we were now outside of that window but the woman on the phone said "well I am not just going to re run the report again, try back in 6 months." Now I go start shopping policies with other agents, I can't go to SF agency because they don't allow that so I leave all together. This lovely agency tells me they will not cancel my policy without proof of new insurance because that is NY law, my new agent prepped me knowing they would try this tactic and gave me the proof that it is in fact not a law in NY. The woman on the phone said "well this agency requires this." I asked to be transferred to customer retention and the response was "we don't do transfers but I can give you the number." 1 quick customer service phone call confirmed that I do not need to show proof of new insurance in NY and that as of July 28th I will be free of this Ken Kortright agency.
