I was referred to Michael by a contractor I used before, we talked a few times on the phone re: the repair to the drywall in my laundry room and bathroom due to water damage plus the re-construction of 2 storage closets, I sent him pics etc. He seemed nice and interested so I was accommodating to HIS schedule and agreed to let him come over while I was at work (I have security cams throughout my house). While there he called me to ask where the closet doors were, he wanted to see them (he never told me that on previous calls), I couldn't really talk, my boss was a few feet away, I got in trouble before for talking "personal" stuff at work, so I told Michael I had to go and I would call him later, which I did and I also texted him to apologize for cutting the call short and explained to him why. Unbeknownst to me he didn't like that apparently because he never sent me an estimate. So I called him from a number he didn't know, he picked up, and as soon as he heard it was me, he hung up! How rude! So I tried from my cell phone (a number he knew) and this time he rejected the call, sent it to voice mail. I left a vm letting him know that it was rude to hang up on me. He called back lying saying he hadn't and gave me some excuse. He then promised to send me an estimate by the following day. So when he didn't, I called him back and he lied AGAIN, this time saying that he JUST landed a big job and now he was "busy" and he couldn't do my job for TWO months!! What?!? Apparently he thinks I'm stupid! I told him I didn't buy his 'the dog ate my homework excuse' and that was it. Luckily I found a much nicer contractor to do my job. :-) This is NO way to treat a potential customer, who is already stressed out due to the damage (and high cleanup costs this leak caused). It actually hurt giving this guy 1 star. We were in need of counter tops for our cabinets in a bathroom, on laundry center and in a kitchen. We chose an awesome quartz product and decided to go with Michael based on his yelp reviews. Prior to purchasing the quartz we showed him the cabinet plans and he recommend a suitable product and style. Michael and his crew came out the day before installation to go some preliminary work and prepare the cabinets to have the stone installed. One of the first things I noticed was how rude he was too his crew. It was pretty despicable. When the job was complete I was happy with the kitchen and the laundry center, but the kitchen was set too high revealing the yellow plywood. Basically, it was shimmed too high. This was not the case in the bathroom and laundry center. The yellow plywood was very noticeable because the cabinets and counter top are white. When confronted with this issue Thomas became irate and blamed it on the cabinets and at times the the cabinet installers and said it was how it works on Ikea cabinets (yet it was fine in the kitchen and laundry center with the same products and installers). He threatened that if they fixed the issue it would destroy the cabinets. He said he would do it but would not be responsible for the cabinet damage. He kept saying he had been in business for 10 year and had never seen cabinets like this. I found that hard to believe because Ikea is extremely popular, not to mention we had him approve the cabinets ahead of time and the other the bathroom and laundry center were fine. The truth of the matter was Michael himself helped shim and prepare the the kitchen because it was a larger piece. The other two areas were set by his crew. He was bitching at his guys the whole time and then when it came out that he goofed the install he didn't have the decency to make it right. I think it is time for him to retire or find another line of work. read more

Mike went above and beyond to assist us with our home renovations. I went to three other contractors before Michael B's and none were willing to take on our insurance claim from a wind/storm incident. Mike stepped in and took over the process for us. He corresponded directly with our insurance adjuster and fought for what was rightfully owed to us in order to complete necessary repairs. My husband was deployed at the time and the process seemed daunting and overwhelming. Mike walked me through the entire process seamlessly. We had a garbage disposal unit that was leaking water every time we used the sink. My husband went to buy a new one and happened to run into Michael at Home Depot. They got to talking about the garbage disposal and Michael said he could install the new one for us. He came over and installed it, and he made sure it worked with no leaks.
