I am typing this with my brand new progressives made with the fairly new Zeiss lens technology. I also chose transition lenses that darken in the sun. Wow, the darkening/lightening technology has improved over the years! My glasses work beautifully! Cathy spent close to 2 hours over 2 days patiently helping me choose the perfect frames, and letting me take frames home overnight. One week later I am the beneficiary of the time spent with her not only helping with frame selection but also the time spent measuring me so that the progressives would be perfect. She is enjoyable (indeed fun :-)) to chat with and truly cares about each person leaving her office with the best possible eyeglass solution for them. At varying times she has also helped my sons (who no longer live in NY) and my husband (whose prescription hasn't changed in years!) I highly recommend giving her a try!

(I brought my own frames.) When I received the glasses and I couldn't see out of them, I found out from a subsequent visit to my orthoptist and another optician that both pair of glasses we made incorrectly and that the prescription in one pair was way off. When I contacted Eyes on Hudson about the issues, my concerns were met with exasperation and an overall unwillingness to work with me. I have since gone to another optician who specializes in difficult prescriptions. Perhaps Eyes on Hudson is very good for general glasses. But I would not recommend the business if one has any special needs.

I texted today (Friday, 7/4/25) and found out that they are closed until Monday for the holiday. After the initial response by the shop, I received a text from Anna, who sold me the frames, etc. She asked which pair was damaged (I had bought more than one) and told me she would order new lenses first thing Monday morning. I would be able to come in on Tuesday morning, and the lenses would be replaced. I have always been very happy with Eye Gallery, but this level of service is virtually unheard of.
