The original doorway was just an open rectangle with a standard door frame. We had to have the frame removed in order to get some appliances through and decided to have it redone as an arch to match the other open doorways in our apartment. He helped me through the process of making sure we had board approval and was patient while we sorted it all out with them. We hope to use them for other projects we have. *note: we asked him to leave it prepped for painting as we are still trying to decide on paint colors which is why the paint colors are off.*

Shafayet and his crew did a truly amazing job, and I am so thankful for all their time, care, and commitment to making our house special and beautiful. This was a big job. We installed 2 new kitchens, 2 new bathrooms, rebuilt the back wall of our house to add large windows, added a deck, skylights, and a bunch of other things in between. At every step, Shafayet worked hard to make sure the house turned out perfectly. I have nothing but the best things to say about our new home and the care Multi put in to make it right. For this type of work, we received bids from a number of different people. Multi priced everything very competitively and they are very transparent on costs for change orders. I recommend them highly, and I will be sending friends to them for years to come!

The work included structural work to repair / replace old decaying beams and to add new support beams. The work included the relocation of 2 full new kitchens; all new internal plumbing; an upgraded electrical system; and the installation of split air conditioning systems throughout all 5 floors. The millwork / finishing / painting done by his team were meticulous, and we ended up 2 beautiful new apartments - a triplex with 2 bedrooms 2 baths, and a duplex with 2 bedrooms / 2 baths. Shafayet was always responsive to our inquiries / requests and provided solutions to the many problems that were encountered in a project of this size. He also coordinated well with the architect and third party vendors that were involved in this project too. His bid for the job was very reasonable compared to the bids of 4 other general contractors. Great value overall!

His crew always showed up when he said they would. Alex always answered our calls or returned our messages promptly. This was a huge issue with past contractors. The only issue I had was his time estimation, which he tended to under-estimate. But unfortunately, that is expected in this industry. We did a two condo apartment combination, gut renovation of the addition, kitchen removal of the addition (capping of gas lines and water pipes), and kitchen renovation in original apartment. With any issue that would arise, he would promptly address and fix. Would I use him again? Yes, in a heart beat.

West Village General Contractors is as good as it gets. They are professional, deliver what they…read morepromise, and absolute perfectionists. They are expensive but worth every penny. If you want a perfect job, completed when promised, this is the company to use. I began with one project and added to it. They were careful about making sure I knew exactly what each additional thing would cost, and the length of time that would be required. I got several bids before beginning my project and various timeframes. WVGC was honest about the length of time that would be required. We had weekly meetings and they remained exactly on schedule. They were referred to me by someone else in my building who'd used them, and who was equally impressed with their work. They were right on top of every detail the entire way through the project. They finished exactly when they'd promised, and everything was perfect. In finishing up with a very short punch list, they have been as responsive after having been paid as they were along the line. I would hire WVGC again in a minute. I am afraid I'm spoiled. I have used many contractors over the years, and these people were by far the most professional. They told me when it was not worth doing something I considered adding to my project. I should also say that they are extremely careful and their work is neat. When my apartment was turned back to me, I was extremely impressed with how they had been so careful in protecting other parts of the apartment. My building staff also mentioned to me that they were very impressed with their professionalism and told me how they stood apart from other contractors. The entire staff was a pleasure to work with, and they were amazingly responsive. Any time anything needed to be approved, changed, or ordered, there was always the project manager or assistant project manager who would be available to accomplish what needed to be accomplished. The two principals were also a pleasure to deal with -- so, I guess you can tell from this review that I was extremely happy with their perfectionistic work, their fair prices, and their attention to detail, as well as their responsiveness. They are not the least expensive contractors, but their work is clearly so superior that it is worth paying a little more. I really cannot too highly recommend WVGC.
