My aunt went twice to see Dr. Scannon, both with scheduled appointments. He told her he didn't have time to see her each appointment, and yet still charged her two $50 copays. They gave her another appointment time in a card, and when she called to double check and confirm, they told her that they had no record of it. Steer clear. read more

She was incredibly helpful, informative, and patient. She made sure I understood everything she was saying and was very attentive to my questions and concerns. She thoroughly explained my options and was very professional. She took a culture at my Weds appointment but encouraged me to come back should I have a better sample. Long story short, I went in again today (with no appointment) and she saw me within 20 minutes, took an additional culture, re-prescribed my medicine since insurance did not cover it, answered my additional questions and encouraged me to call her to give her an update. She was very friendly and I highly recommend seeing her. I originally wanted Dr. Scannon- but he had a long wait list. He specializes more in skin cancer I believe, while Dr. Snyder focuses more on acne and other skin problems. I suggest the 8am appointments because you are seen very quickly. I went in today at 11:00 and had to wait about 15 minutes because they were running behind. Super friendly and helpful receptionists as well. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews. I especially don't like writing this review because the doctor is a good gu.y. But I feel he's winding down the practice running out the clock and more interested I just handing out topicals and Botox etc. I have had psoriasis since infancy 50pdd years sometimes bad sometimes good. The last 14 months have been really bad and the doctor didn't seem able to read simple signs that his prescribed treatments were making thing worse. It's a long story but at the end he kept peering at my legs and prescribing topicals and moisturizers. Things kept getting worse. In May of this year he said stay out of the sun keep applying this and lots of moisturizer to your legs (I was on a biological that had cleared the rest of my lbody). One day I woke up with nodules filled with what look like yellow pus (it wasn't). I was freaked out. He peered at it said my leg was infected (it wasn't). Went to Mayo Clinic but before I did I researched the referred doctor and read his publications. I deducted I had severe contact dermatitis due to an allergic reaction to the goop I was putting on my legs. Got a patch allergy test and voila fragrances in the moisturizers and corticosteroids. I just looking at pictures and it was obvious to an untrained eye. He is sole practitioner (had a partner but he left) and the staff is pretty weak and non responsive. Client base seems to be dwindling. Not a good place for a good outcome. read more

I was referred here by my doctor to check something on my skin. Though my insurance company says they are in-network, and their website seems to indicate they accept my insurance, when I tried to book apt online (through zocdoc), a popup warning came up indicating they were out of network and i might be charged a lot. So I decided to call instead. I was told 2 people were ahead of me and put on hold. After 5 min the hold music stopped but I was still connected. After another 5 min I hung up and called back, and got someone right away, who seemed surprised I was on hold. I said I wanted to confirm insurance, and she put me on hold. She came back and asked my name (not my insurance) and put me on hold again. After 10 min I gave up. Moving on. read more

Went to doctor Scannons office located in South Tampa off of Armenia Avenue on a Monday morning at 8 AM. I filled out all 6 pages of all the medical basic information paperwork and was seen within 5 minutes of submitting all my paperwork. Office staff was shared between 2 different doctors offices so they seemed a bit short, rushed in answering questions and it come off as a bit rude. Although the staff was not particularly nice, they were relatively quick. They had some cool magazines to read which kept me occupied. The decor of the place was a little bit older and could probably use a renovation but not a big deal. The outside of the building is brick and looks pretty nice and has multiple doctors offices. Nursing Assistant first checked in with me and then the nurse practitioner answered all my questions and prescribe me medications. However I was a little disappointed that for a $60 copay I did not get to see an actual doctor. However all my needs were addressed promptly and I was in and out of there within an hour and a half so it was a success in my book. read more

I was so excited to book an appt here after reading the great reviews. My skin is the worst it has ever been and I couldn't wait for a professional to finally help me. When I called to book the appt I told the receptionist I wanted to be seen for a full body check for moles as well as being seen for acne. I saw the NP who was nice but was in such a rush. I have a history of basal cell skin moles and melanoma runs in my family. She BARELY looked at my body. Didn't even look under the gown at my chest back or stomach. Didn't look at my scalp until I asked her to. When i asked her about my acne she was like "wait you're here for acne also? Better be quick" She told me to get an over the counter medicine to fix my acne then when I asked her about a face wash or lotion to use she said whatever I was already using was fine (clearly not!!!! My skin is a disaster) she was so rushed I felt guilty asking her any more questions. She literally couldn't wait to leave the room. I couldn't even hold back my tears I started crying as soon as she walked out of the room. A complete waste of my time and money. As soon as I got in my car I called a different dermatologist and am going next week. read more

The cream she recommended for me was turned down by my insurance and she contacted them and took care of getting it approved without me having to do anything. On recommendation of two friends, I phoned Dr. Scannon's office on two separate occasions to schedule a new patient appointment. Both times I was surprised at how rude the staff was on the phone. I only called a second time, because I was told it was worth dealing with the rude front office staff to get the excellent care given by Dr. Scannon. I continued to be polite and answer insurance and ID questions for several minutes. When the rude behavior escalated, I asked if I had called at a bad time and perhaps it would be better if I called at a later date. I was told, "I just can't hear you! You must be holding the phone away from your mouth!" I was born and raised in the south and I will be polite to the last breath, but I won't tolerate service personel who treat others badly. Dr. Scannon either isn't aware of his staffs poor behavior or he doesn't care enough for his patients to stop it. Either way, I will seek another provider and hope that staff in other offices do respect their patients. read more
