I found Dr. Chue after visiting with 6, yes 6, different oncologists, including flying across the country to visit not 1 but 2 major cancer hospitals. I did my own research, YOU MUST BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE WHEN YOU FIND OUT YOU HAVE CANCER. I did so much research that it became my my only focus for months while healing from a surgery so I could begin chemo. All of the other hospitals and Drs I met with were so focused on the algorithms and making me part of their study that I doubt they actually heard me. From the moment I met Dr Chue, he listened to me and spoke to me like I was the only patient he had. ( I CERTAINLY WAS NOT) I wanted to survive, my cancer was bad! I listened to him as he spoke with compassion. He was honest about my cancer. HE TOLD ME TRUTHS - EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT BODY, CANCER AND TREATMENTS AFFECT PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY! Hard to hear those words but I appreciated the truth! After 6 oncologists, I picked Dr. Chue! He did not promise me I'd survive, he said we'd fight it as long as I wanted to fight. He told me it would not be easy. He told me not everyone wins the battle, bodies are different and people react differently! I'm beyond grateful, I just don't know if it would have been possible for me to win the battle had it been any Dr other than Dr Chue! I'm now 6/7 years out. When I say it's a miracle, it truly is! I know that not everyone has such a successful result but one thing I do know is that Dr. Chue is an ANGEL in a HUMAN BODY! God put him on this earth to be ahead of his time and to have more compassion than any Dr I have ever known. His knowledge is immeasurable! The appointment I was trying to make was for a family member- I myself would not want to have to deal with Seattle Breast Center for my own care- the frustration and stress of having to play phone tag and wait.. and wait.. and wait.. for a return call to get medical attention would be too much. So this marks the first time I've "updated" a Yelp review. While SCCA would in theory top the list…read moreof places I'd most want to upgrade to a HIGHER rating, its scheduling department's ongoing incompetence once again caused enough stress and inconvenience today to warrant this downgrade to just one star. Quite frankly, I'd give the scheduling department (at least the one I'm stuck dealing with) ZERO stars if given the option. In my 10+ years as a patient, I've communicated with almost as many schedulers -- and perhaps one or two of them have been good at their jobs. The one working when I first started treatment was so bad that after I once vented about her on a support board, a local person PM'd me to ask if I was talking about S***; she knew exactly who I was referring to (even though I didn't name names), and said the lady was notorious for her poor communication skills. Well, at this point, I actually MISS that ten-years-ago scheduler. At least she never flat-out lied to me -- unlike the one two years ago who said it was ok when I questioned why my routine CT scan wasn't scheduled (see previous review), only for me to find out several weeks later, on the day I received the results for my bone scan, that yes, I DID also need the CT scan (which I then had to have at the last minute, and wait an extra day to get results for -- as if regular "scanxiety" isn't bad enough without being made worse by lazy schedulers who can't be bothered to follow up on valid patient concerns). After that 2018 incident, you'd best believe that I let SCCA know how I felt about it. I was then given some empty promise by Patient Relations that it "wouldn't happen again", they'd "communicate better", blah blah. Because I'm a forgiving person, I thanked them and decided to let it go. I still have to initiate setting up all my appointments, despite always being told that the schedulers will "contact me" (and I'm actually ok with scheduling things myself; I do so on a regular basis with my GP's office, which has a specific portal for this, but apparently SCCA isn't yet that advanced. But why bother claiming that the schedulers will "contact me"?). Still, things were more or less fine, until December of 2019. That's when I contacted my onc's current scheduler to set up my every-three-months Lupron injection, which I knew was due in January. She responded within a reasonable time frame, and told me that the shot was scheduled for 1/4. Right away, I noticed that this seemed too early; it's been made very clear to me over the years that these shots should be given every 12 weeks (though there is about a week's worth of flexibility; it doesn't have to be 100% exact). But my most recent injection occurred on October 21st; and it shouldn't take a rocket scientist to see that 10/21 to 1/4 = not 12 weeks. It should take about 30 seconds to actually make the effort to count (or check a calendar, for crying out loud) and see that officially it's only 10 weeks and 5 days. I emailed the scheduler with my concern. I pointed out that it seemed too early. I gave her the specific date of 10/21 as my last injection, so she had that information handy. Two days later, she replied; she mentioned the week's flexibility and said (and I quote; see attached) "it is okay for you to receive on 1/4". I knew it still wasn't quite even 11 weeks; and I certainly hadn't forgotten the incident two years ago. However, I decided to give this person -- who, after all, is paid to be thorough and accurate, and not make mistakes -- the benefit of the doubt and not question her further. I mean, I shouldn't need to be in a position where I'm asking "ARE YOU SUUUURE?" each time a member of my so-called "care team" relays a message to me. Especially not AFTER I'd handed this person her own error on a silver platter by pointing out the early date, and given her ample time and opportunity to follow up on and fix the error if needed. Fast-forward to today, January 4th. I don't blame SCCA for running behind, and for waiting until 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment to send me back to a room. I DO, however, question why they waited until after I'd been sent back and had my vitals taken, to inform me that they couldn't actually give me the injection today... Because it was too early. LIVID doesn't begin to cover how I felt after hearing this. While lazy and irresponsible of them, I'll forgive SCCA for not bothering to call, or at least tell me when I checked in, that I wouldn't get the shot today; at least the infusion nurse who gave me the news seemed genuinely regretful, and made a visible (and appreciated) effort to help. There is NO excuse, though, to be flat-out lied to and misinformed AGAIN by a scheduler who can't be bothered to do her job. It's infuriating. It's ridiculous. And SCCA's patients deserve better. I'll close with a line from my first review -- In short: I'd suggest looking elsewhere for treatment.

However, I wanted to take the time to write this review to recognize the compassionate care she received here. My wife's primary RN was exceptionally caring, empathetic, and personable. She took the time to engage with my wife beyond just talking about her treatment. More importantly, she was genuine. She wasn't just going through the motions. She really cared about my wife. It made sense that we later saw her plaque on the wall for an award she recently won for providing such great service... and we made sure to nominate her again. We also truly appreciated the kindness of our doctor, the two ladies who manned the check-in counter, our nutritionist, our social worker, etc. Lastly, we loved the views of the lake from the waiting rooms and the free food/drinks in the nutrition areas on each floor. There were minor negative aspects here and there, as with anything. For example, there were a few times where we had to wait at the pharmacy for 30 to 40 minutes for meds. But overall, we are grateful for the kindness and compassion of the staff here.

IT HURTS WHEN I DO THIS…read more So don't do that! (old doc joke). Not going to bore you with my story, however I have way too much familiarity with hospitals. Having been a guest at Overlake Hospital several times and having had our three grown children here, I can represent. I recently spent another fun filled weekend in my gown that never stays closed in the back. I guess that helps when the docs keep you for "observation". My son took me to their Emergency Department again recently. As always the staff there were all very pleasant, genuinely concerned, and efficient. A nurse appeared in minutes to take me in...kudos. I have waited hours in other places (but remember I let others write about the bad stuff). Another nurse appeared quickly followed by a very reassuring senior doctor and I had just got my gowny thing on. Wow fast! After a few tests they told me that I was going upstairs to have a sleep over. I soon arrived in Critical Care (just high temp precaution) where I was immediately made comfortable in my new bed surrounded by attentive caring nurses and technicians again followed quickly by my new doctor who already knew everything about me. She must be psychic. I know that most of you are crazy scared of hospitals, however as a frequent flyer here let me assure you that their entire staff are absolutely the best and dedicated to making you feel better...and quickly. Really the are! The nurses techs housekeeping food service pharmacists aides are all quick quiet skilled efficient gentle and comforting...kind of like ninjas. Trust me on this. You are in good hands. Promise. Having gotten to my room after the kitchen had closed and hungry my nurse magically appeared with a sandwich crackers jello and cold bottled water. I was truly amazed and no longer starving. BTW...the food service at Ovaerlake is that good. They are pleasant on the phone quick with my order served hot and the Starbucks coffee too. Kudos to the chef who offers a great menu selection that I found very tasty and satisfying. Even if they would not let me have chips and a cookie! Allow me to share a story. A friend on his way to work one morning stopped by with what he thought was indigestion. Turns out he was having a major heart attack! They did an immediate quadruple bypass on the spot and saved his life. How's that for drive in service? I really do hope you stay out of the hospital, however should you need one while visiting Bellevue or you are a lucky local get to Overlake Hospital Medical Center. Stay healthy Ricardo

I rarely go to urgent care, by the way. I went mid-week, mid-day last month and waited a long time before being taken to a room. After several hours, a doctor finally saw me. They said that they had just come in for their shift, noticed I had been there 3 hours, and no one had seen me! The nursing staff was barely there and inattentive, and the facility did not seem busy. Nurses would say they would come back and they didn't. The nurse who put in the IV did not appear to clean their hands and did a horrible job putting it in so much so that it was painful. Awful. Awful. Awful. Worst medical "care" ever.

I get so much paper snail mail from Kaiser since my employer switched to them. They are stuck in…read morethe 90s. Also, their pharmacy is exactly like going to the DMV. You take a number and they call you up- everyone can hear what you're saying to them when you get up there because they've all been waiting so long they are all paying attention. All of your personal information is on display- they can all hear it. It's embarrassing at best. Also, their doctors seem to work whenever they feel like it- not regularly, you won't develop a relationship with any of them. The whole system is very impersonal- it's a very disorganized place. It represents the money you pay to be a part of it, cheap. 100%. If you have a choice, don't do Kaiser, you will regret it.
