MiCA 12v is one of my favorite stores in Cincinnati. Every time I come here I find something beautiful for myself or a friend. Everything here is locally made and there is a variety of items, from baby clothes, to jewelry, to home lighting. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful, and if you are looking for a particular item that is out of stock, they will email you when it is back in stock. The store is pretty pricey, so I normally only buy things here as gifts or for special occasions. They do have pretty affordable items, like their jewelry or their t-shirts. Overall, this store is a great stop on Vine Street the next time you're waiting for your table at your favorite OTR restaurant. read more

I love this little store so much. It has a ton of cool local things including art, apparel, glassware, bags, and other assorted trinkets. If ever I'm waiting to go eat or have a little time to kill, I go into this shop and have a look around. They also sell local tshirts at a competitively cheaper price than a place like Homage. I got a baseball shirt there for $7 less than anywhere else in OTR. read more

Mica 12/v, a family-owned downtown boutique, features handmade crafts and gifts by local artists. A prettily decorated store, every item is quite cute and beautifully stitched. I really enjoyed seeing a grey cotton pillow that would be great for the guest room. I loved smelling their room fragrances and floral candles. A great store experience if you're trying to decorate your house or if you're hoping to find some small gifts for a special occasion! read more

Poor customer service in regards to online orders. I purchased a wallet over 3 weeks ago and it didn't arrive because my shipping address was wrong. Because USPS deemed it undeliverable it was sent back to MiCA. I used the online contact form to let them know what was going on with the shipment and got no response - that was 10 days after I ordered. So I called the store and left a message with an employee to pass off to the owner about the issues 14 days after I ordered - no response. The least they could do was call me to let me know that they're trying to work it out. I've now sent the owner a direct email regarding the issue. Hopefully I get some response, but this will be the first and only time I order from MiCA. read more

Went here on a recommendation for a great place to get a V-Day card for my fiance´. The card's are hand made and they are such a great accompanying gift. The selection this store offers is great. As a Cincinnati native, I am sad to report that I never went to OTR (Over the Rhine) until I was 23. I first went to OTR to visit Findley Market but I return for the trendy shops on Vine. A friend of mine is doing a website on OTR businesses and one day I was helping him as cameraman. On that day we went to MiCA 12/v and I knew I would love this place. It has a great selection of art and products that everyone should like. Its Cincinnati specific products is what brings me back. I will post the website link at the bottom of this review so that you can see what my first experience there was like. SO on to the actual review. I had to pick up a gift for my friend in Tokyo for helping with an job application and for taking me out when I was in Tokyo over the summer. He use to live in Cincinnati in the 1970s and loved this city. His office is covered in knick knacks from his time here. So I knew if I was going to buy him something it had to come from MiCA 12/v. When I arrived, I was greeted by Michael the owner. Who is awesome, he will tell everything you want to know about everything in his store. And he plays great music while your browsing. I settled on a table runner that featured the first surveyor map of the Ohio River from the 1700s. Its a beautiful piece that I know my friend will love. Michael even gift wrapped it for me when he heard it was a gift, and he even let me chose the gift wrap (I know its a small detail but it just shows the service they provide). I also bought myself a vinyl wallet as well. Mica 12/v is such a fun store to browse! Everything in the store is interesting, and I always want to buy a lot of things that I cannot afford and do not need. Anyway, Mica has a lot of crafts and wares by local artists, and the store might even have a little artist info card to go with your purchase. The gifts do range from a little pricey to a lot pricey, but you can absolutely find some nice gifts for a somewhat modest budget, and it's definitely worth it to support local artists and a local store. This is a must-browse in OTR. read more

MiCA is an absolutely adorable store with a great corner lot in Over-the-Rhine boasting locally-made items. I think there are so many great things in this store, but it's a bit out of my price range at the moment. I have to start off by saying, I don't think I have ever bought anything here. BUT, I am always in this store if I am walking around OTR. This is the perfect little store to find unique gifts/trinkets/tees/jewelry/art/anything! I am especially a fan of all of the local artistic jewelry. All gorgeous. I bought a Christmas present for my mom here, and she loved it. MiCA 12/v is stocked with a great variety of useful, handmade, and attractive items that make perfect gifts or treats for yourself. I wanted a fun gardening-related present for my mom, and found "seed bombs," little balls of seeds/clay/fertilizer that you throw at the ground, and grow on their own. MiCA carried a "mother" themed bag, with three different varieties of seed bombs related to traits associated with motherhood and flowers. It was in my "nice present" budget, and my mom loved that it was actually made in Cincinnati. If you're in OTR or looking for a local gift, this is a great place to pop into! read more

Very nice unique shop/gallery in OTR. Good for some unconventional gifts or gadgets. Nice mixture of everything with sprinkle of art. Good price range, lots of affordable things. I especially like the stuff with local themes, like Cincy artwork, T-shirts, postcards. I found many cute baby toys, mostly wooden. Super friendly staff and a large selection of gifts and home decor items. There are many items that are locally made from jewelry to apparel and this seems to be one of those stores you (OK, I) walk in and just *need* to buy something. I chose some lovely damask outlined placemats which I can't wait to use - they are modern and a bit funky. I wandered in a few days ago after getting lunch. I love the merchandise but the customer service is awful! There were three employees in the store when I went in. I was probably in the store for almost ten minutes before any of them acknowledged my presence and when it did happen it was brief. Two of the employees were so engaged in their own conversation that they seemed to not notice there were customers in the store. How do they expect to sell anything if they are so unapproachable and unfriendly? There were things I was interested in purchasing but I was so turned off by the owners and/or employees that I just walked out. They probably lost a sale that day. I will not be back. read more

Very disappointed with this store. Not with the merchandise, as there are several quaint things available for purchase, but with the customer service. My father owned a small business so I have nothing but respect for a store like this. My wife attempted to return something to the store for store credit & was rudely brow-beaten by the the person behind the counter. We tried to return a gift we had received from family with which our kids never played. He had reluctantly exchanged the item for us in January, and this second item was also never touched and tags were still attached as well. Mind you this is a toy that was approximately $80. Instead of accepting the return or kindly explaining his return policy, he proceeded to get very defensive and accuse my wife of keeping merchandise off his floor. On top of it, he kept telling my wife that she was being rude to him, when it was he who was rude. My wife would have walked out of the store no questions asked if he had kindly said "I apologize but this exceeds our return policy," rather than attack her and speak harshly at her. It is truly a shame because it is just the kind of store my family loves to support. So, remember, if you purchase something from there -- you better be sure you like it or you will draw the ire of their staff. read more

MiCA is a fun artsy little business that is always fun to visit. They have interesting hand-crafted items, ranging from unique pottery to hand made cards and jewelry. I have stopped by a couple times before, but I recently had my first purchase here. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. I bought a funny T-shirt for a Christmas gift. There was complimentary gift-wrapping, and I was even pumped by the pretty wrappings they used. I definately need to remember this shop whenever I'm looking for a good gift. read more

I was given a pint glass as a gift and the logo on it was ruined after I washed in the dishwasher. They gave me a replacement that I still had trouble with. I moved to CA and Mica shipped another glass out to me from a new batch. Outstanding customer service! read more
