Sana is the lovely proprietress, and she greets everyone with a smile and can-do attitude. I have had multiple pairs of jeans hemmed here, and zippers replaced on items from skirts to my favourite wool winter jacket. Sana will put a rush on anything you need if necessary, though I have never needed anything quickly. She is capable and pleasant to deal with. Replacing a small zipper will run you around $8-10 and having some small alterations done will likely be around $10-$20. You can ask at the time if you're concerned about cost, though I have always found it to be very reasonable and much better than messing it up myself! You can also pay when you drop your items off or when you pick them up. There's a curtained off dressing room if you need to put on trousers before hemming or get advice on other alterations. I highly recommend this place as it's efficient and inexpensive!

Even though we had not purchased our items from here, they were more than pleased to tailor them for us for a reasonable price. We were impressed that the owner and others we met in the location were attentive, knew their business extremely well and offered advice to ensure the work would turn out well. Had we gone elsewhere, I would not have known to keep the euro hem in my new jeans, my husband's sport coat would have been taken in at the wrong seams, and I know his two nice shirts would have been a mess. Everything turned out better than I expected and we have found several other items that we will be taking in over the coming weeks. The fact that the work was done on time, in just a couple of days was also a very bug plus! We enjoyed the conversation while there and the on hand clothing selection is quite nice. The collection of ties is diverse and colourful. There is a little something for all tastes, the staff are up on trends, the selection is all higher quality and last summer there was a nice splash of bright colors we hadn't found elsewhere in Halifax. Yet, like most people in Halifax, I can't always afford the exuberant prices of exclusive brands carried by stores like Duggers. The Suitor was the best of both worlds. I was able to find the modern look and style I was looking for, and the pricing was perfect! The store is owned and operated by a Master Tailor who provides custom fittings for anything you buy. I bought a Calvin Klein suit with a french-cuffed Sean John shirt. I didn't like how the shirt looked on me and wanted a more 'slim fit' look. He took my measurements and custom-fitted the shirt within 24 hours. This little hidden gem of a store works mainly on word of mouth and has been for several years now. They can custom make a suit for you in any style you desire. Regardless of your body type, if you like the look of a particular luxury brand (like a Hugo, Canali, or Zegna suit), bring a picture and they'll make a suit for you just like it... but for a fraction of the price!

I have brought all forms of clothing to her, from casual dresses, to dress pants, to jeans, to bridal gowns, to suits. As well as, brought clothing to be dry cleaned. The service is always amazing, timely, prices are fair and the fit of the clothing is always what I wanted. Janice is extremely friendly and kind and over the years she has made an effort to build and grow a rapport, which I really appreciate. Janice provides quality work, very knowledgeable and able to work with you and guide you on what's best for the fit of your clothing. No anchoring done, paid a lot in cash. Hard to believe this job was done by a real tailor, I suspect they have inexperienced people in the back doing their work. Taking my coat to another tailor, will make sure this time that an actual tailor does the work and if he/she advises me of how this work was done, I will let you know.
