C3. Two Baos and Popcorn Chicken Combo
    Sherene N.

2 Bao Buns and Popcorn Chicken. $15.65 post tax in this area of Manhattan is an entire steal. The porkbelly Bao was absolutely delicious. The popcorn chicken option was also very good. It was crispy, and tasty with a good sauce. You have to be good at chess, not checkers, to score a seat in the dining area, but if you're strategic, it's very doable. The line was long but moved very quickly. It's very noisy and crowded in the dining area. I really enjoyed what I had choosen today. I'll definitely circle back soon to try other options.

Pre-ordered my red curry chicken bowl and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this was. Just the right amount of everything in it and plenty of shredded chicken. I got a text msg once the order was ready and it was waiting for me at the counter. I would order from here again.

Quick service, cheap, & cute location. Spring rolls were good but nothing to necessarily write home about, bao buns were flavorful & only $5.50. Perfect starter to snack on while walking around the city before dinner

I got the Sichuan Beef Noodles and Smoked Tofu Sesame Noodles. The Sichuan Beef Noodles were superb, even when I got it as takeout and ate it two hours later. The sauce was super flavorful and delicious. The Smoked Tofu Sesame Noodles were also good, but the smoked tofu was a little too salty for my liking so I wasn't able to eat all of them but kept some as leftovers. Other than that, both noodles were delicious, and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying their rice dishes. Service was kind and quick on a Wednesday evening.

Didn't want a big meal so I had a red curry chicken bao ($5.50). I also would've gotten the duck but it was sold out. It was a decent size and I enjoyed it! Out of all the restaurants this spot seemed to offer a variety of things at different price points. Most other places you'd have to spend close to $15 to order any food.

Doesn't look much to be good on first look but we were pulled by it's sample dishes on the counter and fall for it. Me and my girlfriends ordered the same thing ( pork and duck bun meal) except took different sides. Each one traded in and I liked popcorn chicken the most . The meal is filling and tasted good. Additionally the tea drinks were great. We caught by surprised when we picked our tab for the additional surcharge of $8. What is that for? The place is tucked inside the Urban Space building near Summit One. One of the most reasonable place to get lunch.

Popcorn chicken bowl! Filling and delicious!

Came to urban space for lunch during the week and picked mian kitchen. I got the popcorn chicken bowl which was pretty heavy aka big portion. Tons of rice, kale, corn, kimchi, popcorn kitchen in a garlic sauce and spicy mayo (i got this on the side). Others in my group ordered the tempura bao buns, a noodle bowl and more popcorn chicken. We all thought the food was delicious and lady taking our order was super friendly! Would def. come back!

Ordered the combo with the chicken and cow bao buns with popcorn chicken. It was all very flavorful and the chicken so well cooked! Can't wait to come back!

In the middle of urbanspace on a busy Wednesday at lunchtime, Mian Kitchen was poppin! The line was long, but moving quickly, so I jumped in. There's a range of noodle, bao, and rice bowl options with all the delicious fusion flavors. There's also some nice teas that you can add for a combo. I opted for a noodle bowl, selecting the Dan Dan which is the most popular. I originally wanted a spicier bowl, but a cool thing is you can ask to add spice! Wait time was 5-8 min and then the huge colorful bowl was ready. Definitely a good portion size, I loved the noodles and minced pork in chili oil. What I didn't love as much was the salad essentially on top of it all - corn, carrots, and kale topped everything. As much as I love these ingredients individually, it was strange to have so much of them on top of an Asian noodle bowl, the corn especially. The egg was well cooked though, and overall I greatly enjoyed the bowl.

Another culturally unique and tasty yet expensive lunch offered up in Urban Space. It is a solid option if you are in the mood for a bowl of noodles or a rice bowl. I opted for the Dan Dan Noodle Bowl. Flat rice noodles buried under a colorful layer of kale, corn, cilantro, shredded carrots and some type of nut, and spicy minced pork. It was spicy but won't light your taste buds on fire. This bowl combo'd with a passion fruit iced tea was $14.75. I would return to try more options on the menu.

A Chelsea Market staple!…read more I came to NYC in 2021 and tried this place for the first time all those years ago. I'm happy to report that it was even better than I remembered! Very Fresh Noodles specializes in biangbiang (hand pulled) noodles. We got the Tingly & Spicy Cumin Lamb (Dry). It featured their signature biangbiang noodles seasoned with cumin, peppercorn, and their housemade chili oil. It's served with celery, cabbage, and tonsss of cilantro. SO GOOD! It was slurped up in minutes. The spice is mala spice, so it's a little numbing, tingly, and hurts just a bit in the best way. It definitely grows, so have a beverage on hand. The chewy noodles, spicy seasonings, and tender lamb made this dish unforgettable. Pro-tip: You can get it either dry (tossed in the sauce) or soupy!

Really Good Noodles sounds like an appropriate moniker-- this bustling little spot in Chelsea…read moreMarket whips out some tasty hand-stretched noodles, whether you like them in soup or just doused in chili oil sauce. I ordered the beef dry noodles. Their signature noodles are nice, thick, and chewy. They cooled off fairly quickly, but the center was still warm. Oily as expected but not overly so. It was definitely on the salty side. Just a little spicy but even a wimp like me was okay with it. Flavor wise, it was solid and good but nothing super unique or that I'd go out of the way for (for the dry noodles). Happy I tried it and it was tasty, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return or highly recommend friends to try them out. It's pretty pricey for a plate or bowl, but it was a big portion (and I eat a lot!). There's tons of protein, like there was almost an endless hill of beef for me. Not really much service besides taking the order and they seemed busy through lunch and the early afternoon. There's limited bar seating at the storefront or tables near the windows, but you can take your plate and walk to the basement floor for quieter seating too!

It's been weeks and I'm still thinking about the broth. It had levels of complexity and paired up with fresh noodles and tender beef that melted in your mouth, yeah, there's a reason I'm still thinking about it! I went with a friend who had never had Taiwanese food and I'm a bit sad that 886 was the first experience for her because other places after this are going to be a let down. We split the beef noodle soup, Taiwanese fried chicken and scallion pancake beef wrap. The chicken was also perfection served with an in house honey chili crisp sauce. The scallion pancake beef wrap was good but in a purist who likes scallion pancake on its own. Even though it's easy village and not Chinatown, visit this place, it is worth the visit!!! I can't wait to visit their sister restaurant in Brooklyn one day! 谢谢!

I paid extra for more meat, which was a solid choice. it did not, however, make up for the lack of flavor. chew of the noodles was great, though. the only decent item my friend and I had here was the popcorn chicken. super fresh, steaming hot, crispy, and loads of flavor. I would come back here again just for that. ambiance is nice -- solid lighting and fun art around. tables are inches apart so you will definitely hear and be sat right next to others. workers were slightly rude, the restaurant seems to be run by girls in their early 20s/teens. I'm sure the food is more authentic and service is more quality elsewhere.

I went to this casual Taiwanese spot a while back with a group. The food here was overall tasty…read morewith the best thing being definitely the spicy beef & tendon noodle soup along with the braised beef with noodles which makes sense as it's a Taiwanese beef noodle spot. The rest of the dishes were still pretty tasty with a notable unique version of dan dan noodles. I didn't have a drink and I don't think anyone else did. Service was fine and the place is very casual. On a side note, I got a Tea Egg and I wouldn't really recommend it much as it lacked the flavor of most tea eggs. The first thing that arrived was one of the appetizers the Assorted Cold Dish with jade cucumber, black fungus in vinegar sauce, and spiced edamame. The portion was fine and they had a mixture of crunch and textures. It would be good to share though my preference of the mixtures was the Assorted Luwei with tofu, kelp knots, and boiled eggs. Referring to dishes braised in soy sauce, I particularly liked the kelp due to it's crunchy yet soft texture with the strips of tofu also being very tasty while the eggs as per the tea egg prior were alright. We also got as an appetizer the Spicy Braised Pig's Ear. A bunch of the other people at the table didn't really like this but I liked the texture mostly because I'm a fan of tendon and cartilage and this has that crunchy but soft texture almost like a crunchy jello. This spice was on the lighter end but it still had a little bit of heat. There was also the Seasonal Greens which were pretty tasty though not as necessary as most of the greens were included in the other dishes such as the pork chops and soups. There was also the Popcorn Chicken which had the usual white pepper and slight sweetness I associate with this version and it was solid and warm (though I wouldn't recommend it to go.) Overall, the appetizers were good but they aren't the star of this place. Best of the main dishes was as noted the Spicy Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup. Both the beef and the tendon in there were super tender. The noodles had the QQ texture I'd expect from a good Taiwanese spot. I have had richer beef noodle soups before but it was still well flavored and the bit of spice in there was a nice extra kick. A bit spicier by comparison was the Dan Dan Noodles which I was a bit surprised to see on the menu. They were prepared differently from the dan dan mein from other spots; more like a soupier noodle. By comparison to the beef/tendon noodle soup, it was more Sichuan peppercorn and spicier by comparison. Both were tasty with a slight preference to the former due to the different types of beef and I liked tasting the soup a bit better. We also got the Braised Beef With Noodles which is offered over rice or with noodles. Due to the great noodle texture, we got it over noodles of course. The beef again was tasty though I preferred it as a noodle soup. It was still good and I would order it on a different day. Our only non noodle dish was the Fried Pork Chops With Rice which was fine. The pork chops have the usual white pepper and light sweetness you find in this style though it was a bit chewy. Outside of the pork and rice, there was also some cucumbers and it came with half a boiled egg. This was as expected alright but I would recommend getting noodles as it's definitely their specialty.
