Lobster Tail fried and jerk chicken Mac
    Misty S.

Came here at about 7pm after work on a Thursday Was so excited to try the food after seeing it online There were about 4 cars ahead of us And they do go in order I ordered two plates of the lobster tail and Mac ($25) Opted for the jerk chicken Mac (you can choose any Mac) And a side of seafood fried rice ($7) .. totaled $63 and I tipped as a courtesy We chilled in the sitting area of the food truck while we waited The food came out about 40 mins later but was worth the wait (again there were orders ahead of ours) Food was very fresh and so delicious The lobster was seasoned really well and not oily The lobster came with a remoulade dipping sauce The jerk chicken Mac did not skimp on the jerk chicken My husband loved it I thought it was a lot of chicken more than Mac but I'd try the seafood Mac or plain next time Seafood rice was good as well Overall I'd be back for some more lobster and Mac

Seafood rice with a little kick in terms of spice

My coworker told me to check out Miami Spice and I am glad I did. Restaurant food on a food truck. The food is made to order, so I called my order in. If you don't call in it takes maybe 15 minutes. The customer service is outstanding. A young lady took my order on the phone and was really patient with all of my questions. When I got there she greeted me. This is a family owned business. The people working the truck are friendly and professional. Now to the food. I ordered the fried catfish plate with 2 sides. Catfish was nicely seasoned. With the plate I got asparagus and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was very cheesy. I also ordered a side of the seafood rice which had a nice kick to it. I thought the food was good. I would definitely eat here again. I highly recommend.

Awesome new Katy, food truck find!! Delicious, hot, and perfectly made to order. Not to mention Dashandra was the best waitress who came over to the car to take my order. She was super sweet and answered all my questions for a 1st timer. I have to double tip on my next visit (totally forgot). You don't even have to get out your car, she will come right over with a paper menu to keep and take your order when your ready. The portions were great and we'll work the $12.99. I'll definitely be back.

Called my order in 15 minutes before closing - everything fresh and full of flavor. Also, the individual who answers the phone was super polite!

Found this food truck on a support " black owned" business page , and I couldn't be happier. The waitress walks to your car with a mask and a disposable menu for you to keep. Today I purchased the fried shrimp with rice and peas and a side of corn ! Who knew corn could be seasoned so well! The portion of the rice was So huge I still had food left over( but I'm not complaining) the shrimp wasn't your average corn meal battered shrimp, the flavoring was like nothing I've tasted. The chefs took their time. I found my new spot. S.N I learned the food is made to order so expect Freshness and a little wait if there's a line ( luckily for me I was in and out . Definitely going back , and trying their catering services SOON. If you're in the Katy area check them out I promise you will find your menu favorite dish ! I DID

    Jerk Chicken with rice.

Came here promptly at 4 for their Oxtail I had seen on Tik Tok. They said it's only sold on Saturday's, so I had to go. Am I glad I did. This was the most tender, flavorful oxtail I've ever had. Topped and mixed in to their Mac and Cheese, the flavors combined was out of this world. Tried their jerk chicken as well (super moist, great spice to it, can be a little much if you aren't expecting it). All in all, I'd come back just for that oxtail. I've got to try the combo plate with the seafood next time, I heard that got great reviews!

Wow! When you eat fried food you generally expect to need a dipping sauce to enjoy anything. Not here! There is so much flavor packed into the batter and on the shrimp and catfish it is ridiculous. I also don't think I have ever said, "man, that was some juicy catfish". Well, that changed today. The catfish was perfect and tasted very fresh. The jerk Mac and cheese is a must. It's like no Mac and cheese I've ever had, so much flavor and crazy juicy chicken. The staff was very welcoming and made you feel like family. I will, with out a doubt, be going back! I wouldn't be surprised if Miami Spice starts selling out within hours of opening. Keep it up!!

I tried the lobster tail and cheesy Mac & cheese. Both were amazing. I loved the sauce the lobster tail was in (I need that recipe) The server and the cook were very nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back for more.

Food is amazing. Always fresh, hot, and flavorful. You get nice portions for the cost. The sauce is amazing as well. Definitely has been my go to. Try this place and you will not be disappointed. The spinach is so good and flavorful. The jerk chicken is bad to the bone.

Finding good soul food in a new city is a journey... and baby, I've been on one since moving to…read moreHouston. After 3+ years of searching for something that gives me that Atlanta-level comfort, I can finally say I've found a real contender in Mikki's Soul Food Cafe. This was my second visit, and I ordered the same thing both times--the meatloaf dinner over rice with green beans (and this time I added mac and cheese). That meatloaf? Listen... seasoned just right, tender, and covered in a rich gravy that leans slightly tomato-based without being overpowering. Poured over fluffy rice? Yeah... they knew exactly what they were doing. The first visit was a 10/10. The green beans were everything--well-seasoned, tender, with bacon and onions. It gave "somebody's grandma been cooking all morning." Now... this second visit? The green beans came in a little confused. I got more potatoes and bacon than actual beans. I'm talking hide-and-seek levels trying to find a green bean in there. Still flavorful, but the balance was off. And the mac and cheese? Not my ministry. It was very heavy--extra cheesy to the point where the texture and flavor just didn't land for me. I won't be ordering that again. Let's talk price real quick: $19.95 (2 sides) $23.95 (3 sides) At first, I paused. But once you see the portion size? You calm down real quick. These are generous plates, easily stretching into two meals. Now here's my biggest issue--and it matters: The to-go packaging needs help. That gravy on the meatloaf is delicious, but it's also very liquidy. When you order to-go (like I did for lunch), it spills out into the container and bag during transport. By the time I got back to work, my tray was covered in grease and gravy, and it made eating a whole situation. This could easily be fixed by putting the gravy in a separate, sealed container. Final Verdict: When Mikki's hits, it hits. This is some of the closest I've found to real Southern soul food in Houston. A little more consistency with sides and better to-go packaging would take them all the way over the top. Rating: 4.5 stars (9/10) 1/2 And yes--I'm coming back. Next time, I'm bringing my mom for Sunday dinner.

The shop is so small that seating is non-existent, (#3) thus it's strictly a takeout and delivery establishment. Their display case of hot foods changes throughout the day, depending on availability. Anything after the late afternoon is a huge gamble, so when in doubt, call ahead of time to confirm whether an item is available. I love to pop in just to get a good visual of my choices -- and I've always managed to walk out with something delicious. Of all the items I've tried, there have been standouts across the board. The oxtail, stewed chicken with gravy, smothered rib tips, meat loaf, and their über famous honey glazed wings and meatballs are fabulous. Their sides of dressing, sweet candied yams, mac and cheese, and fried green tomatoes make for a perfectly complete meal. Even the cornbread is outstanding, which is really saying something. I'd be remiss not to mention their incredibly underrated desserts. The peach cobbler is fire, pound cake and banana pudding are excellent, and their triple layered German-chocolate cake floored me. It was decadent, a tinge savory, and extremely addicting. The fact they offer catering for every item mentioned above means my future potlucks are going to be next level. When they're ready to open another location in a different part of town, I can only hope it'll be closer to me. We ended up not going because of the wait but I went back with a friend earlier today and it was REALLY good. Like insanely good. I got the Chicken and Gravy while my friend got the Chicken and Waffles and we both finished our plates cleanly. The service was slow, yes, but they were extremely nice and did have multiple prefaces regarding the wait time. The only I had food wise was that the candied sweet potatoes were a little too sweet for me (and trust me, I love myself some candied sweet potatoes) and I feel like the okra or another one of the sides would've been a better fit for me. The chicken I had was extremely tender and juicy, and the gravy had the perfect amount of sweet and salty where I just gobbled it down with everything. The vibe is nice and homey and overall this place was just great. It for sure isn't someplace you can rush through in 30 minutes, but that kinda adds to the experience that you get the minute you walk in.
