The 5-star reviews are either paid for or they just don't know that this dental office is screwing them over. I am 21 and I got my wisdom teeth (all 4) removed here July 2024 at age 20. I did my own research and looked at my own X-Rays (I knew they would be 4 partially bony extractions) and talked to my insurance company. I came to the conclusion that I would only need to pay about 500 for the whole procedure based calculations. Miami Shores quoted me over $3k because they said I had completely bony teeth with complications. I thought it was wrong and I am a student, so I begged for a discount and they brought it down to about $2k. I was sure that it was incorrect, though. I submitted several disputes (over 5) to Delta Dental Insurance. Miami Shores refused to adjust the amount I was being charged even when they received the insurance letters Delta Dental sent them. They kept trying to charge my credit card which I locked, then kept calling me and sent me threatening letters even though according to Delta Dental, I was already done paying. I had to get a new credit card, and Miami Shores charged that, so I filed another dispute. Delta Dental finally requested my files from Miami Shores and that my original calculation was correct. I was only meant to pay about $500-600 and Miami Shores overcharged me by $1.3k!!! It turns out that they lied and billed me separately for many things which is "balance billing" and is illegal. For example, they said my teeth were "complete bony extraction with complications" so they could charge me $115 per tooth. I was right originally that they were "partially bony" which would only be $45 per tooth. If a literal college student with no dental experience is more accurate on their own X-Rays than a dental professional, then there is something wrong, or something scammy. They also made me pay $1k for suturing my sinuses, BUT that is already covered in the extraction costs and should NOT have been billed as a separate procedure. For literally over a year, I've been so stressed because I was sure that Miami Shores was scamming me out of hundreds of dollars and they wouldn't listen to me or my insurance company. They ignored the letters that were sent, my phone calls, anything I uploaded to the portal as proof. They constantly gave me the run-around on the phone until I felt so frustrated that I cried. And I was right about everything. They also lied about other procedures I also did, like charging me $60 bucks for a gingival cleaning when it was meant to be free. And every time I brought these up, they would lie to my face. I am so happy this was resolved but I feel like I've lost trust in Miami Shores and the medical system because they will do anything to cheat you of money. If you're unsure if they're overcharging, LOOK AT YOUR INSURANCE BOOKLET AND KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS.

From the beginning, the office flow was disorganized. I arrived 30 minutes early and completed all paperwork, yet a patient who arrived after me was taken back first. Once I was called, the appointment felt rushed and dismissive. The dentist repeatedly stated that he was rushing to get back home, which immediately made me feel like my care was not a priority. When I asked about my treatment plan and when my work could be done, he told me he would call me with details, but that call never happened. In December 2025, the dentist stated that he would be gone for the entire year and would not return until January 2026. Despite this, no one followed up with me regarding my treatment. I ultimately had to reach out to the office myself, and the only reason I received a response was because they later told me my email had been found in their spam folder. There was no proactive communication. Clinically, I had several concerns: * No periodontal (gum health) charting was performed, which is a basic standard of care. * I still noticed visible buildup on my back molars after the cleaning. * After the appointment, I noticed spacing between my teeth that was not present prior to the visit. * My gums were sore, and my teeth were sensitive following the cleaning. The hygienist also appeared uncomfortable taking X-ravs, to the point where I had to guide her. Instead of a panoramic exam, an FMX was taken, which felt outdated for a new-patient evaluation. During the cleaning, it felt like my teeth were over-instrumented, and when I voiced concern, the response felt dismissive. When I requested to be seen promptly due to discomfort, there was no sense of urgency, and I was told the office was fully booked-even though the dentist had previously stated he would personally follow up with my treatment plan. I take great pride in my oral health and my smile, and I also value professionalism and accountability. Unfortunately, this office did not reflect those values. I left feeling rushed, unheard, and genuinely uncomfortable. I will never return to this office and do not recommend it to anyone seeking thorough, patient-centered dental care.

I went to Dr. Patty after seeing a Facebook ad (that should have been my first clue). I also try to seek out medical care providers that look like me. I've just moved from another state and needed a dentist. I only came in for a regular cleaning. The dental hygienist came in and poked and prodded and claimed I need a "deep cleaning". The deep cleaning cost $1,395 and my co-pay was $295, plus they suggested an electric toothbrush for $85. When Dr. Patty did her exam, she told me how great my dental hygiene was, so I wondered why the need for the deep cleaning but I foolishly agreed to the "deep cleaning" that day, which resulted in 4 painful shots of lidocaine, and me being unable to talk for thee hours afterwards, because my words were slurred, which they didn't warn me about, so I had to cancel my afternoon meetings. My bill mysteriously changed to $405 when I went to the front to pay and when I inquired about the increase, the front desk clerk kept saying "oh don't talk" because of the lidocaine and tried not to explain the reason for the bill increase. Her explanation--I still don't even know, because I knew then, I WOULD NEVER RETURN! BE WARNED THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY! And Dr. Patty, you BE WARNED ALSO, if you come for me, I am an attorney and I will have your license! I will call the dental board, and may still do so!

Multiple clients that came in after me was called before me. I used to be okay with the long waits here, but now they are becoming very disrespectful in regards to the time people take out of their day to come to try to stay on top of their health. If they don't see me before 3pm for my 10:30am appointment, I am leaving would never come back here. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, they had the air conditioning off with more than 10 people waiting in the lobby. They seem like they hate their jobs and don't want to speak to anybody. Multiple guests came in complaining, yelling, and demanding they need to get off their phones to start doing something, because there's no reason for guests coming in early or on time for their appointment to not get seen until 3 to 5 hours later. We can't eat, drink, or use the bathroom properly waiting 8 hours and to just get seen by a dentist to have them tell me that I have to come back later due to insurance or some other excuse. They need new management, more employees, or to just shut down because the fact that almost everyone that comes into this dentist office is upset, frustrated, and annoyed. I should be spending my health dollars and insurance somewhere else where clients get treated properly.
