:Let's start by asking myself, how have I avoided this place for so long? I'd drive by and ignore it, but after today...no more. I had last visited this location when it was under different ownership (and name)...maybe 15 years ago? So, my wife and I wanted some Mexican food but wanted to go a place we hadn't been before. Enter, Mi Tierra. I was shocked at the new interior. I was told they just remodeled the inside (possibly outside, that looks wonderful as well) in the past couple of weeks since the new year. We were greeted at the door and helped to our table. I had wanted a super burrito, but my wife ordered one and I have a weird quirk of not being able to order the same thing she does. So she got the super burrito and I swayed to the chicken tortilla soup and I'm glad I did. We each ordered a beer and got our complementary chips/salsa (red & green). I have to say, that was an amazing tortilla soup. Perfect amount of spice and the chicken wasn't skimped on. My wife loved her burrito as well. Staff was very friendly and appreciative of our patronage. Besides our waiter, others came and checked on to see how we were enjoying our meal. We'll be back! read more

I've driven past many times on my way to sutter hospital and it always looks inviting with all the beautiful plants and decor. It's smaller than I expected on the inside but the food is excellent with large portions. The ambiance and service are great as well. read more

We stopped in for the first time after driving by many times. It's hidden from Piner Rd so out of site out of mind. We walked in and the young man greeted us to sit anywhere. We sat outside where it is was very pleasant. He came out shortly with the menu and chips and salsa. We really enjoyed their salsa. Service was great. We weren't forgotten outside as we were the only party out there. The servers were efficient, kind and personable. We really liked the pomegranate margarita on the rocks. Our order consisted of grilled chicken tacos and the macho burrito. The presentation was very nice. The portions were perfect for us. Took half of the burrito home. The taste of the chicken was ok. For my taste not enough spice. The pastor was decent. The only part of the burrito that was odd is they sprinkled Parmesan cheese all over the top. It didn't enhance the flavor it did the opposite. When you taste the sauce, cheese and the guacamole together it tastes almost sour. Not a great combo in my opinion. For the food it was on the pricey side compared to other restaurants. Not too bad! First time checking out Mi Tierra, decided to order take out after a day of moving. We called in an order and were quoted 10 minutes. Food came out right on time, super easy and quick pick up. When checking out a New Mexican restaurant, I have to order my standard just to get a feel on the spot. I got a super veggie burrito and my partner ordered a carne asada super burrito. Food was pretty good, didn't scream 'best burrito in the world', but we both enjoyed our meals and plan on returning to try some other dishes next time. read more

Friendly service, consistent food, prices on par, plenty of seating inside and out and enough options to keep everyone happy. My go to order is so simple - handmade tortillas & refried beans and/or the delicious al pastor tacos! Hubby has mixed feelings as sometimes he loves his dinner, sometimes not but either way, it's a nice spot for some tasty Mexican food. I ordered online an Al Pastor Chimichanga for take out. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted quickly and my food was ready in the expected time. Portion was pretty good for price. Al Pastor kind of taste like bacon so it wasn't I was expecting but it wasn't bad. read more

In the neighborhood and thought we'd go check our old fav out knowing there was actually a new restaurant there. Staff was very friendly and portions were great! It did take quite a long time to get our food even though we were the only ones eating in. Tuesday kids eat free so we will check that out next time. I haven't written a review in years and there's a reason why. First let's start with the good stuff. The service is good and what you would expect. The young lady who served me was very nice and helpful. The ambiance is normal for a texmex place. The food... probably the worst salsa I've had. Your local grocery store does better. I had the combo plate with chicken enchilada & mole and chili relleno. Hands down the most bland and flavorless texmex I've ever had. There was nothing "authentic" about it. I usually like this place but today not only did I wait an hour to get my foos it was way overpriced ,I paid almost $70 for a small mendo a shrimp cocktail and small soda and a beer . And the menudo want even good. When I went to complain they said sorry they had an order for 25 people and should have told me. Didn't offer a discount paid the full 70. I stubbled upon this place getting in my steps. I was a first timer but had a taste for some chicken enchiladas. I was greeted and offered a table to sit. There was no one else there so my options were completely open. The waiter quickly brought me a menu with tortilla chips and asked if I would like something to drink? After my order arrived I began to eat, I couldn't help but notice all the eyes that watched me. Every so often I would take a bite and look around. The cook was watching me from the kitchen, the mother peered from the register, the daughter who greeted me also watched in silence, as well as my waiter. It felt creepy might I add. Right before asking for a to go container, a fly landed on my uneaten Spanish rice. That ruined it for me. I was no longer interested in taking the food home, but I left the restaurant with it. This place is a gem. Consistent food and service. I like to get the two item plate with the enchilada and chili relleno. Rice and beans always hot and flavorful. Looks like a new outside seating area is in the works. Overall a solid sit down Mexican restaurant. read more

Came on a small vacation went to try this place the food is not real authentic mexican food and the flavor was not great left my whole menudo because i couldnt eat it. The server gave my wife her coffee and brought some milk that was spoiled. The place is nice and near but the food is the worst ive had in a long time. Place was very clean. Unfortunately the food was extremely bland. We got cucumber and lime agua Fresca and it was a small glass with %90 ice for 4.95, no refills! We both ordered the ribeye. Again, very bland no flavor. The beans tasted canned. The potatoes tasted like it was marinated in oil after being over boiled. The steak must have been at least 4 oz. Very thin. Definitely from a restaurant supply store. Chewy, no flavor, and over priced. The tortillas they gave us weren't heated enough. Plates were $29. Wow! This is my new favorite restaurant and I am bummed not to live closer! We stopped in after seeing The Messiah's Tabernacle exhibit which was incredible. We walked in and were greeted by our friendly server, Yesenia. She helped us decide on our food and did not lead us astray. I had the camarones al mojo de ajo and my husband had the street tacos plate. The tortillas are homemade and everything was hot and delicious. The restaurant has beautiful touches like the solid wood tables, beautiful tiled walls nice music, and clean bathrooms. They also have albóndigas soup and birria tacos! Yum! read more

First time here, I had an amazing wet Carnitas Super Burrito. All components were perfectly combined and delicious. I worked in SF for well over 30 years, all over town. Stopped by on. Monday for lunch. Great convenient option if you're shopping at Restore or Scandinavian Design nearby. I'm so used to Mexican restaurants with the menu above the cash register it took me a second to realize this is more of a sit down place with multi page menus. You can order at the counter, I just took a minute to read through the menu then ordered. The menu is extensive so come in with an idea of what you want or be ready to peruse the many options. They had fresh hibiscus and lime drinks besides lots of other options including beer and wine. Friendly service. They have a salsa bar right inside the door which I love. Multiple salsas, pickled jalapeños and onions to choose from. Only one server but it wasn't too crowded so didn't create too much of an issue. Food came out within 10 mins. Ordered an Al pastor super burrito with black beans and add jalapeños. Came out hot and correct. I didn't love the flavor of the Al pastor but the burrito otherwise was great. Lots of Spanish speaking customers which usually indicates food on the authentic side. Overall a good option to call in for take out or to sit and take your time. I recently had one of their specials, carne en su jugo and it was delicious!! Fast service as well.

The food was good, but the service was lacking. Our server took half of our order then she said she would be right back. She took some time, maybe 5 or 10 minutes. She then took our order and zipped away. We noticed we did not have any utensils or napkins and assumed she would bring those to us with our food. She did not, so I got a couple of sets from another table. I feel their prices are a bit steep for the food. We are not planning to return. read more

Honestly, my seafood burrito had 5 small chewy shrimps and they were harder to find than a UFO. My sister and I ate at the 2nd location on Airport Blvd. Everything was delicious! We had Ceviche Tostadas, chips and salsa, along with a side of fresh guacamole, and Granada margaritas. At the end we had the best coffee. The place was spotless. The owner was very nice. It had live music too. I highly recommend it, and we'll certainly be going back. It's a hidden treasure near the Airport Cinema. read more

This place has such great authentic Mexican food! I usually make my way here during lunch with my co workers! We tend to call in advance and let them know what time we will be there.
