We all tried the house margaritas and they are great. They have a bunch of flavors (mango was our favorite with a little spicy Tajin on the rim...so good)! Our dinners were delicious with fresh ingredients and good portions. It was taco Tuesday so we tried several different tacos including the Guaca taco and a red snapper fish taco. After an unexpected flight diversion to Syracuse overnight, a nearby hotel manager recommended Mi Rancho. Food was good. 3 stars. Service was horrible. 1 star. I sat down at bar in front of bartender who went about her work no greeting, nothing. Wait staff walking by for about five mins. Finally I stopped one for a menu. Another 10 mins go by bartender still not acknowledging, so I asked a wait staff to order, another bartender appeared. I ordered a drink and food from him while another waitress brought chips and salsa. Waiting for my drink, the bartender sat leafing through receipts and going to the one table in the bar area. No drink, no water yet. Other bartender still not acknowledging. Finally he makes my drink but apologizes for fumbling with receipts. Food comes another 10 mins later and he sets it down and walks away. No silverware or napkins., I wait, other bartender still not saying a word while standing in front of me, wait staff back and forth too, so I got up and got my own silverware. I couldn't wait to finish my food and get out of this place. It was a slow Thursday night with multiple wait staff and bartenders milling about, yet very poor service. It was our first time here, and def not the last! Our waitress brought fresh chips, salsa, and refried beans (never had free beans with chips before) they were all delicious! Our margaritas (house and raspberry house) came out super fast, and were crisp/ well made. The food we ordered came out in like 5 minutes. Huge portions! I ordered the Tacos Mexico (cause if you can make carne asada well, you're legit), and my wife ordered the steak tacos asados. Both plates came with beans, lettuce/tomato, Spanish rice, and guacamole. The carne asada was cooked perfectly and wasn't overly salty at all, which has usually been my experience at other Mexican restaurants. My wife really enjoyed her food choices as well! I won't bore you with a long drawn out review (because I absolutely can go on for days about this restaurant). I'll give a quick synopsis of what you're really here for: Drinks: PERFECT!!! The pineapple aqua fresca was my personal favorite - refreshing, flavorful and perfectly balanced. My dinner date ordered the Pina colada which she stated was amazing! Food: Phenomenal! Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The tortilla shells were homemade, beef was cooked perfectly! The yellow rice was packed with flavor and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meals. Service: Spectacular! We dined here on Mother's day. We were greeted with warm smiled and a long stem rose . It didn't stop there though, we were also given a complimentary shot (tequila sunrise). Our waitress checked on us continously throughout our time dining. Will I go again? Absolutely! Absolutely poppin on Cinco de Mayo! We came as a group and had a great time even with the long wait and crowded, filled restaurant (as expected). Our waitress was the best! She was working so hard and obviously had a long day working 5.5 but she was so fun and kept a great attitude. Tables around us were complaining how long the food was taking, but once again I think you need to come in realizing you decided to eat out on Cindo de Mayo. Izzy Steven's was our waitress (told her she needs to watch Greys Anatomy) she's amazing! We all enjoyed a strawberry tower and some chips and dips as apps. Our food also took over an hour to come out but we didn't mind actually. The food was alright, big portions and came out hot but still not my favorite. We have many Mexican restaurants in the Syracuse area that are really good but I wanted to try out this new place. I went for lunch with my friends and we were promptly seated. They did a great job remodeling this building it looks great and nothing like the old Dennys that was there. My only complaint was the parking lot was full of pot holes and a mess! Hopefully that will be fixed in the nice weather. The menu is extensive but we focused on the lunch menu. The server brought out fresh chips with a bean dip with cheese on top. It was amazing! We all couldn't stop eating it. I chose the ACP dish with chicken and cheese on top. It was delicious and served with flour tortillas. I definitely will be back to try something else. read more

I received a doordash order for dinner tonight, wanted to try somewhere new. I saw an image of a fajita chimichanga which sounded really good, but note it doesn't come with cheese sauce- it comes with red sauce. I ordered a small side of cheese sauce, which luckily they offer.. not every place offers that! I also ordered the chicken flautas appetizer. This comes with a small salad with cotoja cheese on top and a side of red sauce. They were nice and crisp, had great flavor and the sauce was also great good. I also enjoyed dipping those in the cheese sauce! The order came with a side of chips and salsa. I wanted to note that the salsa seems made in house but it wasn't very good. Very runny, an off-flavor, and not enjoyable. I'll try it again later in person and see if it changes. read more

I was really looking forward to going here. I've seen some good and some not so good reviews, but that doesn't stop me as I like to try it myself. The place was decorated nicely, it was colorful and it looked very clean. We were given menus and water. Then they brought over the chips, salsa and bean dip. I loved the thin warm tortilla chips, the bean dip was good, I think it was just some of their refried beans with cotija cheese on top...but the salsa was the consistency of tomato sauce with not much flavor or texture. Our server was very friendly but was hard to find when we needed him. It was busy when I arrived but by the time we ordered it wasn't busy anymore. I was very disappointed with my lunch combo. The other meals looked much better than mine. I ordered choice of two items...I selected a burrito and an enchilada, both chicken. One came out with ground beef, which was replaced when our server finally came back. The burrito was NOT a burrito. It was a small flour shell rolled around a small amount of shredded chicken....there was nothing else in it. There was a nice amount of lettuce and tomatoes and rice, but while the beans looked like a lot, at first, it was spread out very thin. Everyone else enjoyed their food. I was there last evening with five friends. The reviews were 50/50. I ordered Chipotle Enchiladas . Bland chicken covered with a cream sauce that lacked any classic smoky chipotle flavor. This is not authentic Mexican food. More like a decorated plate of American bland. Salsa was comparable to a glass of V-8. Did not have beers I wante, despite on the menu. This review will be easy. Yelp pointed me to Mi Rancho Alegre for another great recommendation. Upon entering I was greeted with a genuine smile, something you don't get everywhere. After sitting at the bar I was immediately served chips, salsa, and refried beans with cheese on top. Yummy! I ordered the Birria Tacos and they were the best I've had. Messey yes. Delicious absolutely. Each draft beer was served in a chilled pint glass as it should be. Like all businesses, but especially in the restaurant hospitality business, it's the little things done right that add up to an experience that keep customers coming back. I watched as the bartender meticulously speared orange slices with maraschino cherries and a miniature Mexican flag for the evenings cocktails, which took awhile. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but I just can't. The food was meh, bland. The salsa and chipotle sauces and seasonings were the opposite of bold. I've had Mexican food in Texas, California and in Mexico, and this wasn't any of those. So disappointing. If you're expecting safe Mexican style chain food, go for it. The only reasons I didn't give the restaurant less than 3 stars are the place was very clean, the atmosphere was lively, the staff was attentive and the prices were reasonable. Would I repeat? I am so incredibly disappointed in the service we received this week. We ordered lunch for our department at work at 11am and it said it would be ready at Noon. My employee went to pick up the food at Noon. Someone finally helped him at 12:20 saying that they couldnt find the order and would start it and have it ready in 20 minutes if they could tell him what we ordered. He finally got the food at 12:50 and brought it back to work. Upon arrival back to work we were missing more than one order and 2 orders were wrong out of the 8 lunches we ordered. The manager supposedly has yet to be in to give me a call back and no one there can help remedy this situation. We will not be ordering from there again. read more
