    Pina Colada

I won't bore you with a long drawn out review (because I absolutely can go on for days about this restaurant). I'll give a quick synopsis of what you're really here for: Drinks: PERFECT!!! The pineapple aqua fresca was my personal favorite - refreshing, flavorful and perfectly balanced. My dinner date ordered the Pina colada which she stated was amazing! Food: Phenomenal! Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The tortilla shells were homemade, beef was cooked perfectly! The yellow rice was packed with flavor and the chicken was seasoned to perfection. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meals. Service: Spectacular! We dined here on Mother's day. We were greeted with warm smiled and a long stem rose . It didn't stop there though, we were also given a complimentary shot (tequila sunrise). Our waitress checked on us continously throughout our time dining. Will I go again? Absolutely! The decor is lovely, the staff are wonderful and rhe food is delicious. If you're a lover of Mexican cuisine definitely add Mi Rancho Alegre to your list.

Absolutely poppin on Cinco de Mayo! We came as a group and had a great time even with the long wait and crowded, filled restaurant (as expected). Our waitress was the best! She was working so hard and obviously had a long day working 5.5 but she was so fun and kept a great attitude. Tables around us were complaining how long the food was taking, but once again I think you need to come in realizing you decided to eat out on Cindo de Mayo. Izzy Steven's was our waitress (told her she needs to watch Greys Anatomy) she's amazing! We all enjoyed a strawberry tower and some chips and dips as apps. Our food also took over an hour to come out but we didn't mind actually. The food was alright, big portions and came out hot but still not my favorite. We tried mango tequila shots and that was absolutely the best!!

We have many Mexican restaurants in the Syracuse area that are really good but I wanted to try out this new place. I went for lunch with my friends and we were promptly seated. They did a great job remodeling this building it looks great and nothing like the old Dennys that was there. My only complaint was the parking lot was full of pot holes and a mess! Hopefully that will be fixed in the nice weather. The menu is extensive but we focused on the lunch menu. The server brought out fresh chips with a bean dip with cheese on top. It was amazing! We all couldn't stop eating it. I chose the ACP dish with chicken and cheese on top. It was delicious and served with flour tortillas. I definitely will be back to try something else.

I received a doordash order for dinner tonight, wanted to try somewhere new. I saw an image of a fajita chimichanga which sounded really good, but note it doesn't come with cheese sauce- it comes with red sauce. I ordered a small side of cheese sauce, which luckily they offer.. not every place offers that! I also ordered the chicken flautas appetizer. This comes with a small salad with cotoja cheese on top and a side of red sauce. They were nice and crisp, had great flavor and the sauce was also great good. I also enjoyed dipping those in the cheese sauce! The order came with a side of chips and salsa. I wanted to note that the salsa seems made in house but it wasn't very good. Very runny, an off-flavor, and not enjoyable. I'll try it again later in person and see if it changes.

My 2-Combo platter with beans, rice and salad

I was really looking forward to going here. I've seen some good and some not so good reviews, but that doesn't stop me as I like to try it myself. The place was decorated nicely, it was colorful and it looked very clean. We were given menus and water. Then they brought over the chips, salsa and bean dip. I loved the thin warm tortilla chips, the bean dip was good, I think it was just some of their refried beans with cotija cheese on top...but the salsa was the consistency of tomato sauce with not much flavor or texture. Our server was very friendly but was hard to find when we needed him. It was busy when I arrived but by the time we ordered it wasn't busy anymore. I was very disappointed with my lunch combo. The other meals looked much better than mine. I ordered choice of two items...I selected a burrito and an enchilada, both chicken. One came out with ground beef, which was replaced when our server finally came back. The burrito was NOT a burrito. It was a small flour shell rolled around a small amount of shredded chicken....there was nothing else in it. There was a nice amount of lettuce and tomatoes and rice, but while the beans looked like a lot, at first, it was spread out very thin. Everyone else enjoyed their food. I would definitely go back and try something else from the menu.

Tried this new Mexican restaurant recently. The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated with a welcoming atmosphere. The menu offered plenty of options, which was a plus. I ordered the birria tacos, but unfortunately I was not impressed. The meat was lacking flavor and surprisingly no cheese. The rice was fluffy, but also quite bland for my liking.

We went to Mi Rancho Alegre on a snowy night and had a delicious dinner! The place was packed. Awesome to see this new restaurant attract a lot of people. Yes, we enjoyed everything! It's a beautiful remodel of a former Denny's. We're definitely looking forward to going again.

Nice atmosphere and clean. It was a packed Friday night and could have used another bartender to assist the servers with drinks and a full bar. Meals came out hot and fresh.

    Large dining room.

This review will be easy. Yelp pointed me to Mi Rancho Alegre for another great recommendation. Upon entering I was greeted with a genuine smile, something you don't get everywhere. After sitting at the bar I was immediately served chips, salsa, and refried beans with cheese on top. Yummy! I ordered the Birria Tacos and they were the best I've had. Messey yes. Delicious absolutely. Each draft beer was served in a chilled pint glass as it should be. Like all businesses, but especially in the restaurant hospitality business, it's the little things done right that add up to an experience that keep customers coming back. I watched as the bartender meticulously speared orange slices with maraschino cherries and a miniature Mexican flag for the evenings cocktails, which took awhile. The atmosphere is decidedly Mexican which adds to their charm. Highly recommended if you want quality, delicious Mexican food and excellent service! Gracias!

We decided to visit this restaurant for my birthday celebration. We had heard great things about the food and ambiance. It didn't disappoint. I ordered the Birria tacos and they were so tender and flavorful. The drinks were tasty and it happened to be happy hour. We decided to have dessert as well. Everything was so good and we will return. The service was great. It was busy and they managed perfectly.

    Steak for his fajitas

Mi Rancho Alegre - Syracuse NY was a delightful dining experience with a large menu featuring a variety of tasty options. It was a last minute decision to check things out at the newly opened restaurant. Our meals were great and so large - we both brought some home. We'll be back. Looking forward to some outdoors dining. They did a great job renovating the old Denny's.

We love the food so much that we each order the same meal almost every visit. Some might say we should branch out, but when you know what you love, why change it? From the moment we walk in, we're always greeted with friendly smiles and great service. The staff is welcoming, the service is quick, and the food always arrives hot and fresh. As someone who doesn't enjoy a lot of spice, I appreciate that their salsa is flavorful without being overly hot. Pair that with fresh chips and the delicious, melted cheese drizzled over my entrée, and I'm a happy customer every time. What keeps us coming back, though, is more than just the food. It's the consistency, the hospitality, and the feeling of supporting a family-owned restaurant that truly values its customers. If you haven't tried Rancho Viejo yet, you're missing out. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next visit every single week! A Central New York favorite in our book!

Weird experience at Rancho Viejo. I heard a lot of good…read morethings about this place so I am not sure if I just went on an off day? Food wise I thought everything was okay. I did not see much evidence on it being authentic. Nothing here is spicy. The chips and salsa tasted more like chips and tomato juice. The table didnt have any hot sauces, just salt and pepper, so we asked for salsa verde so we could add some heat to the salsa, but they didn't know what salsa verde was. My mom asked for just the guacamole and rice from her guac, salad, and rice side that comes with the meal but they told her that would be an upcharge which we thought was odd. We got our food and it was tasty, but even though the menu mentioned having jalapeños on our meals, we had to ask for them as it only arrived with bell peppers, to which the staff had to go and see if there was any. I ordered the seafood fajitas, but they didnt have the mix so it was only shrimp and tilapia. My meal arrived without tortillas for the fajitas. Once it was time to go, we paid with cash and waited for change. To which the staff came back and started giving us back our money. We were confused, we wanted change so we could tip but not the entire amount back? So she went back and the three staff members kept counting over and over, confused and saying we dont have this kind of cash to tip back loudly infront of the restaurant. My dad said, 'can you just give me ten back? You can keep the rest.' It was like they had no money in that restaurant or never recieved cash before. We were offered no other options like ones, or fives. Yet the place was full of customers. It felt bizarre to assume that no one there was tipping lower bills. They also all did speak english. Eventually we just left.
