For appetizers we ordered meatballs (4) which were tasty and the smoked guacamole was really very good. Mains were good -- beef rib was excellent, hanger steak was very good, beef medallions were very good. Sides -- not so much. All were flavorful, but over-cooked. Maybe this is Latin American style, but not what is common for American restaurants. As a person who has eaten in great restaurants in big cities as well as a lot of good restaurants in cities all over the country, overall, I'd give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars. It was a Wednesday night, so I'll visit once more on a Friday or Saturday to see if they pop up a notch.

The album literally just dropped, and he had it queued up upon entry. Truly was an amazing experience based on that factor alone. Our waitress Sheree was also very kind. The crab dip appetizer may have been the show stopper of the night, as our table ordered two of them. We really enjoyed the beef empanadas, and the brussel sprouts were tasty. I can not forget the delicious mezcal cocktail I had to wash it all down. We had a great time at Vida!

We saw this place while visiting Wicked Weed across the street. After seeing the amazing Yelp…read morereviews we decided to return a few days later and try it out. I ordered the Pork Arepa and Yuka Fries. The food was delicious - fresh, very flavorful and well balanced. The staff was friendly and did not act annoyed at us for bringing kids along. They even came out and offered us a high chair. Even though the restaurant is small, they had ample outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed our lunch immensely! When we return to the area, we'll have to come back and try more from the menu.

We added escabeche (perfect blend of flavors!) and tostones (with delicious sauce). We needed dairy free as well, so sadly no queso for us, but please enjoy it if you aren't dairy free. We got our order to go, and it was packaged well and stayed hot until we got back to our hotel room, even though it was quite cold outside. This is a tiny place with maybe 8-12 barstools. It is squeaky clean and decorated so nicely. The owner has a great sense of humor as evidenced by his posted hours by the door. Everything is gluten free. I wish this was in my hometown. I would eat there several times a week. I will certainly return when I am in Asheville again, and am even considering placing an order on my last day here to take home for dinner. One thing to note: street parking only as the lot next to the building belongs to another establishment, and they don't play with you parking in their spots.

We came here two days in a row for lunch and we'll always associate our time in Kingsport with Latin Love. It's that good! Family-owned with great staff. There is street parking on both sides of the street as well as around the corner. Walking in, the interior is bright and vibrant with many colors. The somewhat limited seating is all tables. We were greeted as we entered and told to sit anywhere. There was only one other table occupied at the time we got there for an early dinner. The very personable owner came by and talked to us for a while and explained the menu. We learned it is family run with their son being a trained chef running the kitchen. In addition to the excellent explanation of the menu items, they also have rotating pictures on a TV screen along the wall so you can see what you are getting. We started with a pork tamale as an appetizer. This was brought out in about five minutes. The first bite was amazing. The corn masa was very flavorful and the pork was fork tender. We could have eaten several more of these as they were amazingly good. As a lover of pupusas, my selection was one each of chorizo, chicken, and loroco filling. All three were excellent. Each was well-filled with flavorful ingredients which could have stood on their own but were enhanced in the pupusa. The accompanying slaw was excellent. There was a hot sauce available which I would rate at about a 7 out of 10, so definitely bringing the heat, but I could not stop adding to to the pupusas because it tasted so good. The chicken stew special was amazingly good. Although simple, the flavors were exceptional. The salad was crisp and fresh. Latin Love is a hidden gem which needs to be discovered. The menu continues to change so there will always be something new to try. They have a solid foundation to build on and have the passion to make sure each customer has a wonderful experience.
