There was a covered portion, but we stayed in the sun to stay warm in the cool spring air. The server sat us immediately and brought us complimentary fresh chips and salsa. We were starving, so we gobbled them up while flipping through the extensive menu. The servers brought us extra chips and salsa while we waited for our food and drinks. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and two steak tacos off the à la carte lunch menu (until 3pm daily). There was a $0.99 upcharge each for grilled vs shredded chicken and carne asada vs ground beef, and it was totally worth it. My daughter ordered two grilled chicken quesadillas as well. And our friends ordered beef nachos and a fajita platter. All of it was delicious, with large portions. I had a couple of house margaritas, which were tasty and a steal at just $5.50 each. My only complaints were that the queso dip was rather small and not worth the $5, and (like most places) they charge way too much for a soda ($3.25). The service was excellent. Our server Juan was friendly and very attentive, and several others checked in on us throughout our meal to ensure we were taken care. I'll definitely be back the next time I visit Cave City, Hidden River Cave, or Kentucky Down Under.

The bartender brought me a fresh order of Chips and Salsa and a tall Dos Equis Amber which I enjoyed while deciding on my lunch. For lunch I ordered the Lunch Burrito Azul Tequila. It came with Rice and Beans. The burrito had a great flavor. The beans were creamy and the rice was cooked perfect. Everything was paired perfectly. There's an extensive menu that has something to offer everyone (even the pickiest of eaters). Once you're seated, you'll never wait longer than a couple of minutes to get your drinks, chips and salsa. The staff will usually take your order within five minutes of when you're seated and the wait for your order is usually no longer than 10 minutes (unless they're busy or you have a large party). If you're passing through on I-65, go where the locals go! El Mazatlan is sure to have something to satisfy your appetite for Mexican cuisine!
