The salsa was a bit runny with no real flavor. It lacked a punch. We ordered their Golden Margarita. It was excellent. Top shelf quality! The food overall was very good. The bartender was awesome, he checked in on us a few times. The waitress was less than attentive to us. First off, you could not understand her, her accent was tough to hear clearly. She had trouble understanding English too. She never once came back to check on us after our meal was served. It wasn't busy at all, maybe 5 other people were eating lunch. We are originally from California and we know what good, authentic Mexican food should taste like. Heck, until discovering this restaurant I hadn't had Mexican food as good as what I cook since we moved to Kentucky in 2003. I'm not too modest to say I make pretty epic Mexican food and until coming here had yet to have a Mexican restaurant serve me food better than mine. But I have to be honest here, their tacos are the best I've ever had, including the ones I've had in Cali, and yes, even including my own. And I really hate to admit that their pork carnitas tacos are even better than mine, which my family didn't hardly believe when I told them, but they will when they taste them. My pork carnitas are legendary in our family but now, sadly, they are doomed to be dethroned as the family favorite. I think I'll get over it. We've always had prompt, friendly service when we've gone there. I've even gone by myself when I had time to kill waiting for my dog to get done at the groomers. It was very pleasant. And yes, flies get in when people go in and out of doors in the summertime and it's annoying but good grief, what a thing to get your boxers in a bunch over. Please ignore that person who obviously thinks everyone and everything in a restaurant should revolve around them and their demand for perfection (and their need to have everyone "learn the language"). Ugh. We went on a Tuesday early evening and it was packed by the time we left. It's obviously very popular, and for good reason. Oh, and they have a drive thru for picking up your To-Go / Pick-Up orders, which is super convenient. This is the only take out we will be getting from now on, except for the occasional Dominos Pizza. The Japanese restaurant in C'ville and the Chinese restaurant in Columbia have just gotten too expensive for us anymore. This will be our go-to for take out from now on. Speaking of which, it's Friday and I've got an order to call in.
