We decided on Mexican and El Vallarta was close by. It was the best decision ever! The atomosphere was inviting, inside and out. When trying a new Mexican place for the first time, I order either shrimp diablo or chili Colorado. I went with the chili and it was terrific. I'd never had it with mushrooms before, and that little addition to the dish added something I didn't know was missing from all the other chili I'd had in other restaurants. The flavor was one I don't think could ever be improved upon. My buddy was surprised to find pasta shrimp alfredo on the menu and was so intrigued he decided to try it. He loved it. This was my first time in Paris, TN, and now I have reason to drive an hour and a half to visit again. El Vallarta is worth the trip and is a destination in and of itself!

I ordered at first a paloma, but they did not have grapefruit juice, so I ordered a mojito. The bartender told me she would have to see if they had mint as they grew it themselves--I was super impressed by this! So, my coworkers and I waited an extremely long time for our food and drinks. My drink came last. It was not super strong, but was very refreshing. We had follow up shots of tequila to our drinks and the patron silver was super smooth and delicious! Unfortunately the service and the atmosphere of the restaurant was not the best. My coworkers and I felt very bad for the waitress and bartender as she did not have any assistance. She was doing her best to try to serve us food, put in orders, make drinks, and clean tables. There were at least ten tables with tons of empty glasses, plates, napkins, and to go boxes. She definitely needed help from other staff members who were non existent and received none. I wanted to step in and help her, but she was very proud and so nice about it. It definitely was not fair to her to have to do everything on her own. I hope that this restaurant gets some assistance soon as it is obviously popular and needs help!
