My husband works nearby and had been wanting to try this bakery for awhile. Friday he passed by after work and got some guava pastelitos, guava & cheese pastelitos and ham croquetas. The croquetas were delicious. The pastelitos were also a big hit. The taste of the dough they use for the pastelito was right on point. It was airy and crispy. The amount of guava inside was perfect. The overall taste when you bite into the pastelito was A+!! I will most definitely tell hubby to bring back other desserts and pastries to try. I'm also on the hunt for a good loaf of Cuban bread. There was a place growing up that used to sell the most delicious, mouth watering Cuban bread. It would literally melt in your mouth. I am searching for a loaf of bread that triggers that core memory. So definitely need to try their bread! But at least I know that there's another bakery close to my house that does NOT disappoint!

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. The staff were very welcoming. The café con leche and pastelitos (typical Cuban pastries ) were outstanding! We tried the guava & coconut . We also took a sandwich to go; their bread was amazing - great texture. There are a few tables inside and two outside.

Cute, clean and quick little bakery in a plaza on Krome Ave. If you're not paying attention you will miss it. Made a quick croqueta and pan de bono stop on my way to Key Largo to satiate my hunger. Very nice assortment of pastries. Helped myself to an assortment of croquetas including ham, chicken and the house ham and house chicken variety. This might be the first place where I genuinely prefer the thicker, house variety of both! The ham one was purple and stuffed with meat, and the chicken one was nice and creamy. Service was pretty fast albeit the chatty cashier, but that's expected from most places like this. Bathroom is nice and clean, and the decoration is pretty. Would definitely stop again if I'm near the area.

Best service and people. The coffee and pastries are outstanding. I have only tried those. I go there almost every morning.

Price super high I paid $10 for a Cuban bread!!! Cuban bread with butter should not be $10 for a loaf. I was in shock

It seems I have been on a bakery spree recently. I came by this Havana's Bakery Cafe a few weeks…read moreago. I had previously been to another location in 288th Street in Homestead... and I found out while there about this location which is closer to my home. It is a smaller location and does not have the selection the one in 288 has... mainly it's missing cakes. But it gets the job done for me... as I was just looking for a good but cheap Cuban breakfast... eggs, croquettes, Cuban toast, cafe con leche. The breakfast was good, cheap and quite filling! I attached pictures of the meal and prices for anyone interested. One thing though, besides the cakes, is that because it's a small location, they don't have a lot of employees. I placed a large to go order, someone else did at the same time, and another customer came in just to get a few pastries and croquettes. The staff was a bit overwhelmed so it took a bit of time to get the food. A great little bakery in south Homestead if anyone wants to get their Cuban pastry/croquette fix. I will come back.

This place has a different name yes it's Cuban but it's called Isla Bakery…read more It's quite good, it has inside and outside seating very clean and good service. Breakfasts are very affordable starting at 4.99. The ham and cheese croissants are great and so are the tortilla with ham and cheese sandwich they also have all the typical favorites of pastelitos. Natural OJ. If you're on the way to the keys make sure you stop by and load up.
