We were looking for a quick bite to eat for a quick valentine's day date. Ended up going to Mi casa for some mexican, very tasty food and a very homey feel. When they asked us if we wanted desert we said no, but they still brought us some churros free of charge. Very sweet of them. read more

This place was a bad experience. The kitchen resembled a daycare center with screaming toddlers and high chairs. Our waitress didn't know the menu and failed to bring us what we ordered. The street tacos were trash. The chicken was over cooked and terribly bland. The beef was like a sick runny Mexican sloppy Joe mixture. There parking lot was next to a boarding house so you couldn't park without being towed. Strange but true. The service was lousy but we noticed the Hispanic customers in the restaurant were given excellent service. I guess we were the wrong color. The food didn't set well and resulted in a bout of power diarrhea by the time we made it back to Boise. I suggest travelers avoid this dump unless you need a stomach purge. Cheers! read more

Ground beef Barreto and taco was the consistency of boiled Ground beef that has been put through a blender. And had a seasoning that I could not recognize or would want to have ever again. Same seasoning used on shredded beef had the same weird seasoning. Chips and service was pleasant reason for 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Went here for early dinner after arriving in town. Ordered Enchiladas de Mole and a combo plate. The server brought chips and salsa, all of which was very good. Pico de gallo, too, which had a good amount of jalapeños for great flavor. The main course was served on hot plates which kept the food warm throughout. The flavor of the mole sauce was fantastic- not too sweet. The chicken in the enchiladas and the combo plate was tender and flavorful. Nothing chewy or stringy like I've had elsewhere. Finished with sopapillas and fried ice cream. Haven't had sopapillas for a long time and this was very flavorful with a crème filling plus cinnamon sugar on top. Service was great- she checked on us a few times! May go there again tomorrow before we leave town! read more

My youngest daughter and her two young girls went to Mi Casa tonight. We wanted Red Pavilion but they were closed. I had never been to Mi Casa so thought we would try. BIG mistake. Not only was the food bad enough to send back after only 2 bites we told the waitress and she just took our plates. No apology, no offer to get something else. The kids had grilled cheese and fries and they were OK. When she dropped the bill she still charges us for the 2 we sent back. Really? You want people to pay even if it was sent back? Not even. My daughter was mad and took the bill to the front to ask they be taken off as we didn't eat them. She was not a happy camper and just huffed and puffed the entire time, she said she took off the items and gave a new total but didn't show her the bill to make sure. What a rip. I will give a two star because waitress was very nice! Food however was not good. Salsa was watery and had no flavor. The ground beef was black and looked like Taco Bell meat. The fries tasted like they were fried in the same oil as seafood. Street tacos were decent! We were just stopping through town but we won't be back to this restaurant. read more

Very quiet we were the only one's there. Food was just ok the dish I got. My husband dish had ground beef which he likes. But they use way to much of some kind of herb in it. And it made it have a very bad taste to it. My dish had chicken and it was good. read more

We stopped here for dinner while traveling through town. Super friendly service. They brought us chips and salsa upon being seated. I loved the salsa, you could tell it was fresh. The waitress recommended the Pollo Oaxaca, but they ended up being sold out of that dish, so we ordered the Pollo Poblano instead. It was served with beans and rice. It was good, pretty standard. Looked for restaurants on yelp and this place had 4 stars, I don't know why, they must use frozen food then microwave as both my wife's plate and mine had water in plate and the taco, burrito and enchiladas were all soggy. Nothing was seasoned and very bland. The only reason I even gave it one star was the refried beans were excellent. read more

First off, I'm from Arizona so I know Mexican good. If I could I would give this place 0 stars. Ordered a very simple Bean and Cheese burrito to see how good the basics were at this place and when it arrived, it was anything but good. My plate was very very warm, almost too hot. The cheese on top of my burrito was melted but as I cut into my burrito, the shredded cheese used inside with the beans was still cold and unmelted.. the entire burrito was this way. I'm from Southern California where we have top notch Mexican food. I came to Mountainhome to visit my son who is the Air Force and he absolutely loves Mexican food. We decided to try this place and we were so glad we did! Our waitress was wonderful and the food great. We had the table side handmade guacamole, I had veggie street tacos and my son had the chili relleno burrito w steak. It was my sons 21st birthday and they gave him a Coconut Margarita that we shared free of charge. All the staff was friendly, the place clean and the food well priced and very tasty. read more

I have grown up in Mountain Home and there have been ALOT of different Mexican Resturants over the years. Most of them have the same feel and taste to their food, like they are owned by the same family. This was my first time here I did enjoy the fact that they have real tables besides picnic tables like the last restaurant had. Salsa was enjoyable and chips tasted fresh. However looking over the menu they did not offer Fajitas or a Salad which was different. The other Choice they had, which we were looking forward to was Guacomale made at the table, they couldn't make it because they one person who could make it was gone on Vacation. After a long day of driving on a road trip vacation, we needed a good meal to relieve some stress. We were lucky to find Mi Casa. The service was fast and unpretentious and the food was delicious. The frosted mug that came with my bottled beer made my day and the custom cloth napkins were a classy touch. Service was not good. The waitress acted as if everything I said she was confused about or I was wrong even though I said exactly what was on the menu. Also, even though the food tasted good, I'm positive I got food poisoning from the chicken enchiladas.
