I was also unable to pick up on any pineapple notes that one usually finds in Al Pastor-style meat. I am not sure if this is a result of the meat, the sauce, or my own ignorance as to what makes a real Al Pastor. When it comes to the Horchata, this one was divine. It was not too sweet, and the flavors of rice, cinnamon, and vanilla (I believe), all came together in beautiful, rich harmony. Thanks to The Aztec Restaurant and, of course, my friend, this is now a beverage I will seek out every time I'm at a Mexican restaurant, and the bar has been set high!
