In August I found myself here after I felt as though I'd broken my ankle. My suspicions were…read morecorrect, btw. At any rate after a painful drive over (yes drive.I'm a survivor by nature,) I was quickly checked in. The receptionist offered me an ice pack right away and I hobbled to a seat in the waiting room. It was busy in the urgent care that morning, so I did have to wait about 10 minutes before I was called back. The nurse offered me a wheelchair and since my ankle had swelled to baseball size, I took her up on the offer. The nurse was very friendly and we chatted about dogs and the perils of the dog park (where my ankle was broken earlier that day.) She kept me supplied with ice packs and fashioned a gauze holder to keep the pack over my ankle. After the doctor stopped in to check the damage, I was off to x-ray! Fast forward 30 minutes and yours truly was being fitted with crutches and an Aircast to stabilize a broken ankle. Both the doctor and the nurse wanted a different Aircast for me (my foot was too small? That's cool!) So the nurse wheeled me up to Therapy Services so I could be fit with a nice Aircast (and comfy sock) plus be taught how to use crutches properly. We are a Dean family and the friendly service is what keeps us in this health system.

I would give a -5 if possible. This corporation seems to be…read morebent on using every option possible to cause individuals to lose their coverage. 1. They only offer Autopay on the 23rd of the month, very difficult for those on a fixed income with very little wiggle room in their budget to make. This is especially true when they force you to pay ahead to get the coverage already putting you over budget the prior/first month. 2. They're customer service staff seem to either be horribly under trained or trained to lie. I was told in 2019 I had 90 days to pay, only to find out, again because of fixed income check timing, it was actually 30 days. I lost my coverage for ALL of 2020, because they ACCEPTED (took the money out of my account) on Jan 7th, when the payment was due by Dec 31st. They not only accepted the Dec 2019 payment but also my Jan 2020 payment. They refused to refund my premium even after the Customer service rep I talked to in Early Jan 2019 said I would at least get my premiums for Dec '19 and Jan '20 back. Keep in mind, that at the time of this in 2019/2020 the insurance company was paying out over $5,000 a month for my wife's Multiple Sclerosis Meds, Plus over $30,000 a year for the necessary MRI's, Therapies, etc. she required for her MS. Gee, No incentive to kick us off their insurance was there? Now, after she had to go 12 months without her meds or regular office visits she has gone from being able to do basic household chores (loading the dishwasher once a day, doing 1 load of laundry once a day) and being able to cloth herself, bath herself, toilet herself, etc. SOLELY because of the lies and/or incompetence of their employees, my wife has severe Dementia, cannot do ANY household chores, can barely walk the 20 feet from the bedroom to the living room, has to have someone wipe her butt, she has a catheter in all the time else she urinates constantly all day and would have to sit in wet diapers even when I changed her 7 times a day, She cannot dress herself, and the list goes on. She is so bad I could have her committed to a nursing home but I don't because she deserves better. Now they are telling me the absolutely cannot change their Autopay date and with all the bills we have to pay and the other monthly costs, the nearly $700 needed for the premiums is often used up by the 23rd AGAIN, since they made us pay ahead to start, we were $700 in the hole from day one. FURTHER, They switched their plan to no longer accept their sister companies Dean Pharmacy for my wife's meds, so she has to be on a generic version, which has caused her relapsed in her symptoms in the past, as they will not recognize the letter from her Doctors (plural) that says she does best on the name brand. So we have to look forward to further declines in her health all because of lies or incompetence. They also got rid of their own pharmacy services which allowed for overnight deliveries since the Insurance company only gives 28 days of meds a month, not 31 days, so you have to order the day of the 1st, or else they just tell you to call back. The new pharmacy only offers 2 day delivery, and only IF you can get through before 12 noon, else it is 3 day service, meaning that unless you purposely skip dose of the meds, you will be forced to Skip doses at the start of any month your last shot didn't line up with this crazy window of theirs. Thank you Obama!
