Harry Sharata of Advanced Dermatology abandoned patients when things go wrong. I went to him for Versa (collagen filler). He decided I needed Botox in my forehead, event though I was not a good candidate (had a recent concussion). I had a bad reaction (eye swelled shut for months...headaches..etc.). He virtually disappeared from my life, even when I wrote to him, asking for help. Don't go to a doctor who won't stand behind his work and help his patient. read more

Words fail me to properly express how great my experiences have been with Advanced Dermatology. Dr Sharata leads a team of professional and courteous staff . You are not kept waiting and twiddling your thumbs- your appointment is on time every time. My issues have been fairly minor, but my husband had a little scare with cancer on his nose. The procedure was quick and the recovery time was minimal. Dr Sharata's pricing is quite fair- again an anomaly when some dermatologist/ plastic surgeons overcharge with impunity. Additionally, he was kind enough to give advice on skin care for my daughter who was decently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. The wait for an appointment is 3-4 months but worth it! My acne is finally gone! Based on my history and having nothing else work truly well, Dr. Sharata and Christina knew exactly what medication to prescribe, and it worked beautifully. My follow up appointments were great, as Christina adjusted my medication to be sure the acne stays away, and it has for several months now. We're beginning to address other problems like melasma (sun spots), so that I can have the best skin possible; for the first time in my life since the age of 14! Christina is fantastic, and passionate about treating acne. I'm kicking myself for not going to a professional dermatologist sooner. My acne has been mild-moderate but still a constant struggle. I would get at least one new pimple every day. I had been just seeing cosmetic dermatologists over these many years who, who only offer options that cost hundreds to thousands of dollars, or require you to purchase their overpriced acne wash products that don't really solve the underlying issue. Dr. Harry Sharata removed a growth on my eyelid this afternoon. He was kind, and gentle and so nice. His nurse Lori was exceptional and professional. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Sharata at Advanced Dermatology. I was experiencing a symptom on my hand that was more severe and unique from eczema, however, my last dermatologist just wrote it off as a fungal infection (treating the symptom, rather than the source). Dr. Sharata was extremely thorough - he actively listened to my symptoms and addressed my concerns. Very knowledgeable too, as he was able to explain to me what I had and gave me a prescription that finally relieved my symptoms! read more

I will never go back to this dermatologist again. And here is why: - I was given a cortisone shot to alleviate a rash. When this course of action was proposed, I expressed concern over such a serious measure and asked for an explanation and possible side effects. My concern was totally brushed off and the list of side effects given to me was minimal. I have had a whole host of side effects from this injection, none of which I was made aware of were possibilities. I called them back to question if these side effects were normal, and was told [by a nurse] that they were. Would have been nice to know that up front.... -I left two different appointments where no mention was made of me picking up a prescription / being prescribed anything. After each visit, I got a call from my pharmacy saying I had a prescription to pick up. I then called Advanced Dermatology back to figure out exactly that it was I was being prescribed, and why. Each time, I got a better explanation from the nurse on duty than the actual physician. I believe it's my right to be informed about the things I do and put into my body. None of the staff here made me feel comfortable about the treatments I was being recommended. read more

We would never return to this clinic or recommend it to anyone. We first came to Advanced Dermatology in Madison for a broken capillary that my daughter had. They tried zapping it with their machine on wheels - we were there just a few minutes. After a few weeks we noticed no change and called back - set up another appointment for the same treatment. The broken capillary was zapped again with no change and no follow-up call to us to see how she was doing or if it worked. We called back after a month or two and went back yet again for the same treatment with sadly the same results and lack of follow-up. When I would call to inquire about her face showing no change I was told several times to just wait longer. All these appointments were spread over several months as it was. In the end, after several visits and no results we looked for someone new to help her. The new place we found helped her in one visit for half of what we paid Advanced Dermatology, and called us the next day to see if we had questions and how she was doing. I was not impressed with our visits to Advanced Dermatology, would not ever return or recommend them for this service. read more

If I could rate this clinic minus stars, I would. I had the worst experience back in March 2020, the start of the pandemic. I wanted help with my allergies before ragweed season this fall. Instead, I was told by Dr. Harry Sharata to use an over-the-counter allergy medication I was already taking with little relief, told to go get a blood test for lupus even though I had no symptoms for lupus, and told to not use soap. Remember, March was the start of a pandemic. When I looked at the Doctor (Harry Sharata) in bewilderment, he scoffed at the pandemic, giving me advice against the recommendation of federal and state governments. Then he said to come back in two weeks but the clinic was closed then and nobody reached out to me. Two months later I received a bill for $137. I have tried numerous times to reach out about my mistreatment for months and have gotten nothing but wasted time and the run-around. Nobody ever calls me back. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! read more

I paid for a full brazilian bikini hair removal which should mean that all the hair is being removed. however, they do not have a bed and put you in a chair. The tech makes little attempt to get into the groin area with the laser. I kept complaining to her about it and she just apologizes for not having a bed to be able to get into the groin area. I offered to stand and she declined. So, now I have little hair left under my panties, but hair remaining in the groin area which was my main purpose of going in for hair removal. They've done nothing to offer me compensation for having an inadequate setup. read more
