On Sunday 17th October 2010, we visited and were offered the early bird menu at 7pm! On Sunday 24th, returned with family at 17:55, table booked for 6pm, only to be told early bird menu ends at 6pm, and so it was not offered to us! Stingy on their part!
Either the waiting staff do not write what they are asked for, or the chefs do not read what the waiting staff have written. I asked for soup, with bread and butter, I had to ask for the butter twice. I also asked for carbonara, and asked if there was garlic on it, to be informed there was, and so I asked for it with no garlic. When it arrived, there was garlic bread on top of it and garlic through it! The question I have ask here is, why does it not say in the menu there is garlic in it? This is an Italian restaurant, and the amazing thing is when I visit Italy, garlic is an optional extra! Surely menu's should state what ingredients will be used for any selection?
We had an 8 year old and a 5 year old with us, they are not really that good in the children's' menu department. €8.75 per child for a small soup bowl of spaghetti bolognese and €2.25 each for a small glass of lemonade is a bit strong. Adult prices are okay in price, not exceptional value, but okay.
One may bring their own wine, no corkage fee applies. However, compared to the prices next door in Sciroccos restaurant, I feel Mezzo's make up for it by charging higher prices for their food.
I was happy enough last week, this week having spent €110.65 there, it will be my last!
