We were on the way to Galway and decided like many others to have supper in Athlone. We settled on an Italian restaurant but when we got to the location it wasn't there. So we found another place right next to it that was also Italian coincidentally.
Three of us ordered pizza which were thin and crispy nothing incredible but very good pizza none the less. The pizzas were very large and for the price I was very happy with what we got.
My mother ordered the risotto which I did not taste but she told me it was delicious. It looked very appealing and seemed creamy which is a must for a good risotto.
Lastly my sister ordered the penne and chicken which I did taste. It came with a cream sauce that was well spiced and once again was a great dish.
All in all, this place may not be anything spectacular but it offered great tasting and filling food at a very reasonable price. It is for sure not the best Italian I've ever tasted but I really enjoyed it and would go back. read more
