Great experience, possibly the best doctor I've seen in my adult life. I had gone to multiple…read moremedical providers about issues with my fingers. They were confident about what was going on but still reluctant to rule out other things (I don't blame them at all, as none of them were neurologists). Dr. Schweller quickly identified the cause, and what was most impressive, made predictions about my symptoms that, in fact, were completely correct. This showed he really understood what was going on. Additionally, he gave me a prognosis that explained why two of my fingers were taking longer to heal than the others. On a side note, he is a really interesting man to talk to, with great stories. And he's incredibly well-trained, having gone to Georgetown for both college and medical school, followed by residency at the Mayo Clinic. His assistant was very welcoming and quickly put me at ease, as did Dr. Schweller when I met him. In particular, I appreciated how patient they were. I had to fill out a ton of paperwork because this was for a worker's comp claim (it honestly took close to thirty minutes), and they didn't make me feel like I needed to rush at all. There was no wait, and, because of the paperwork, they ended up being the ones who waited on me. How often does that happen at a doctor's office?!!! The ambience of the office was peaceful and calm, and when I was sitting down in Dr. Schweller's office, the first thing he said was, "Happy New Year. Life is good. Don't worry; be happy," or words to that effect. I would strongly recommend him as a QME doctor (these are the independent doctors you can appeal denied worker's comp claims to). If he accepts non-worker's comp patients, I would recommend him to those patients as well.

Dr schweller is fantastic. The only reason I don't give this location 5 stars is because the…read morereceptionist Kathy is rude and Janet is very hard to reach.

I have been seeing Dr. Frishberg, for years now. I always find him to be friendly, upbeat,…read moreprofessional, and a good Neurologist to work with; I've had absolutely no issues with him so I'm confused as to some of these reviews. There are times he's busy, but he comes in quickly, does what I am there for and we both leave the office. I think he's a great Neurologist, which is why I have stayed with him for so long. As to the Carlsbad staff it seems there are often ones I don't recognize or know (some I do), and I go there every three months! The front desk people are not rude, but I can't say most are friendly (but a few really are).. Moving to PB I have been able to see PA's in La Jolla and find them all to be much more pleasant and accommodating. As to getting through on the phone, I would have to give them 0. 5 stars, and that is because when someone does answer they are typically very pleasant. It had gotten much worse during the pandemic, but we are over 2 yrs post so that shouldn't continue to be an issue. Recording always says they have a number of calls and in my head I'm urging them to get more people to help then! It's unacceptable and I can see why they would lose patients that way. I referred a friend to Dr F, but she encountered this and went to someone else because she said she wasn't going to wait on the phone that long to get through to a medical office. I was bummed because I believe Dr Frishberg could really help her. I called at 8:15 this morning thinking they opened at 8:00 and got the We're not in the office yet message. So I called about 415 and was again put on hold for the longest time and then the phone disconnected; I was pretty upset by that. I called back & the message said the office is now closed. I should not have to wait an hour and then some to get ahold of someone there. So this is an urgent, urgent, urgent plea to please get more people to answer your phones. The prompts didn't give an option to talk with someone if they've asked you to call about a change and you need to ask questions about it; that was different. I would have to give an F on the phones. I think this office would have much higher reviews but it is the phone said really pull them down. I am more than happy to increase a review because I give the doctor five stars he's excellent, but how do I get five stars when the phones system is such a mess. Neurology please improve this, so I can give a better review.

This office has gotten progressively worse in the last year. They do NOT answer their phones. Be prepared for a 20-30 minute hold time if you're given the option to wait. Every time I'm in the waiting room, I never hear the phone ring or see them on the phone. I'm not sure who answers them. The Botox line never picks up so you leave a voicemail and they'll call you back the next day. I left multiple voicemails and requested callbacks to reschedule an appointment. It's been 3 weeks and I've heard nothing back. Don't take new patients if you can't accommodate your current ones!
