After being utterly crushed by a non-responsive company that made a come back! In the interim we hired someone recommended by a hack job handy man who is known for being a love ball but bad habit of Harry Houdini-ing when things don't suit him... Wound up with a county unionized average Joe (lovely guy but not this Joe because that guy turned out to be lazy, cut corners and not very good mowing, but I digress) - I turned to Yelp for recommendations. I wanted at least 3 quotes. In the meantime Tim Acton took over the lawn/landscape maintenance (they are the original landscapers for the property), and starting off on a better note. Very happy with them - so far - BUT after heart ache, getting quotes for work from more than one source is always recommended (particularly when they bother to SHOW UP!). Papa Joe is a super hard working guy, and delivers what he says he will. With an amazing personality and reasonable costs. Which makes decisions harder for me. So here's the deal: 1. He will be reasonable pricing. 2. He will respond, on time and communicate effectively 3. He will do what he will tell you he will. 4. Clean job and great pride in craftsmanship. So now, if I have to recommend? I am torn. Because both Tim A and Papa Joe are fantastic options. Now, lets see what the quotes for the staggered projects will look like. Because I have no doubt either will do an incredible job. I do know they both are for the long-lasting relationship.

While my experience wasn't bad, I did knock a star off. And I'll tell you why. 1) Service wasn't nearly as great. Maybe bcs they're so busy this time of year? But I asked a young lady about pansies and she literally said, "Are you kidding?" She then explained to obviously stupid me that pansies are an EARLY spring flower, and this was LATE spring and they had been sold out FOREVER. Well. I'm a new gardener, and I'm insecure and nervous about what to plant. And I wasn't even excited to put a single flower in the ground until I remembered the little pansy garden my mom and I tended together when I was young. So getting g*ddamned pansies was g*ddamned important to me! I went and bought a few at Shaws (not sold out). And they're doing just fine, thank you very much. 2) I bought a bell pepper six pack. Still hardening them off. A couple days ago I noticed a spot on one of the leaves. By today, I would say 75% of the leaves have bacterial leaf spot. No treatment, so the plant is basically going in the trash (I pruned it and will see what happens, bcs hope springs eternal). This disease either comes from soil or contaminated seeds. So best case, Hart Farms got a bad batch from a vendor; worst case, they are using contaminated, diseased soil. Oh, and to pour vinegar on the paper cut, after I pruned back basically all of my plant, I realized there were only 5 starts in their. One of the little 6-pack cups was totally empty. I'm just grateful I noticed this before I put them in the ground and infected my other veggies. So yeah, I still think a trip to Hart's is a wonderful experience, and I WILL be going back, probably many times! But after such a wonderful visit there in the winter, my experience this spring left me a little cold.

I would be careful buying nursery products there. Hart Farm will not stand by what they sel. We had about 6 companies come out to give us quotes on 1. getting the existing system up and running and 2. adding on to the existing system to reach other parts of our yard. The 1st company was a joke, barely spoke English and honestly I don't even know if they knew what we wanted to do or how irrigation systems worked. The next 3 companies understood what we wanted, looked at the existing system and said basically "we will come out and try and get the system working for $X and then if it works we will figure out the cost of the expansion to the system. If it doesn't work, we'll get it running (cost unknown) and then worry about the additional irrigation. LNN Irrigation was the final company. Lubo was great, knowledgeable and honest. He looked at the existing system, existing sprinkler heads, controls box, and did a water pressure test (no other company even discussed water pressure for the additional zones). After his inspection he said look let's forget about getting the existing system going and then worry about adding on because I'll tell you it won't work. I was sold right there. I looked into the control box and sure enough one of the PVC pipes was broken (I'm sure this was spotted by the other companies) so Lubo was absolutely right. Installation took a day and Lubo added a drip zone at no additional cost. He also suggested a new control box and I'm glad he did since I can control the system now from my iPhone. I'm sure if we went with another company we would have spent more money in the end with probably a system that isn't as good as far as water coverage. LNN Irrigation comes highly recommended from this satisfied customer.
