My husband tried to buy the AMERICAN WASTE RED BAGS today around 10:00 am; he was treated very poorly. The clerks claim that they cannot sell the red bags with a debit card as THE CREDIT CARD MERCHANT charges a fee for this and it is a "SERVICE". All the purchases made in that store wether it is CREDIT or DEBIT are administered or processed with a FEE! Like it or not that is the world of BANKING!!!! We have purchased these RED BAGS BEFORE AND WERE CHARGED AN EXTRA$1.50 for them! You are a bunch of lazy DUMDUMS! This is my favorite place to shop! Always greeted as soon as I arrive. The staff go above and beyond to help me with whatever I need. I was being helped the other day but he was in the back cutting a piece of sprinkler hose for me. While I was standing there waiting, I had two separate staff members ask me if I needed help. You certainly don't get that in the big box stores! Always go here first for whatever I need. read more

The service in this store is atrocious, nonexistent! Needed some parts for a water heater. When I walked in the store there were several staff and few customers but no one offered to help me. Finally got a clerk who pointed to where what I needed was: electric meter, water tank heater probe, wrench for removing probe, and some batteries. After finding my own stuff, checked out and left. At home meter did not work. So next day went back and after getting help told them the meter didn't work. Said I would have to send it in. Asked them to check my old probe to see if it were really bad, they said the couldn't do that. Asked about a meter and that I wanted to check it before I left, they said once I opened it, it was mine. So I told them I wanted all my money back and gave everything I bought. After arguing I got my money back, left and went to Gillroys across and down the street and got just the opposite treatment. read more

Purchased a shelf from ACE hardware in lewiston went to install the shelf and all the hardware was broken tried to swap it out with new hardware at the new Meyer ace hardware in Gaylord ( same day) and they said I would have to return it in lewiston. Been shopping at this ACE for years, never again. read more

Took a 60.00 dollar Can Am Spyder key blank to be cut. In no time at all they made my expensive key blank into junk. No sorry, just our policy is to return your cost of the cut, nothing more. I wish the man would have said it was to difficult for him to do, instead of doing a bad job. I will never have a key cut at ACE again. read more

Went in to store to exchange warrantied craftsman tools. I was told that I couldn't exchange more than 2 tools. They didn't have a problem SELLING me more than 2 tools, but ok, there were two of us, we could each do 2. Then they couldn't find the exact match tools so said they couldn't help me. One was a ratchet that broke the first time I used it. They had the same ratchets, but he said they were different so couldn't do that either. Couldn't read the number on one so they couldn't do that one. Two of them were screwdrivers. They couldn't find the exact same number so no deal. It's a screwdriver...not rocket science, give me one close. Nope. Out of 9 broken tools, they could only find 2. The guy in the tool area was rude. I won't be going back to this store again. read more

Went to buy LED lights that were advertised on tv, all supposed to be "Buy 2 and get the third free". They would not honor the add even when one of the salesman agreed with me in front of the manager. I will tell everyone not to shop there. read more

Purchased a Husqvarna Chainsaw in Febuary 2015 went to use it the end of July and the oil had leaked out of it all over the floor replaced the oil went to start it and the brake was on and the chain was still moving. Took back to this Ace Hardware the place of purchase wanted a refund was told it was Husqvarna that would not give refund repair only so we had to have it repaired. Got the Chainsaw back last week after them having it over a month, went to use Saturday and the same issues again took the Chainsaw back to Ace They said all they could do is send it back in for repair. Again we asked for a refund and was told again Husqvarna does not give refunds or exchanges only repair. So today we called Husqvarna and told them the problems we have been having and asked for a refund and they told us that Ace had our money not them. SO ACE HARDWARE OF GAYLORD, YOU ARE A BUNCH OF HACKS AND LIARS THAT RIP PEOPLE AND DON'T STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS YOU SELL. ALL YOU DID WAS GIVE US THE RUNAROUND.
