Chicken tacos
Gary F.

I rolled in almost right at closing (check their hours they're kind of odd). However they were kind and ready to fix whatever I ordered. I got the chicken tacos and some chips and salsa and it was prepared with the same care as if I was there in the middle of the day. These were some of the best tacos I've had and I absolutely loved the chips and salsa. If I ever find myself in bowling green again I will definitely make my way back to the MexOut.

MexOut is a true hidden gem in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It's located in an unsuspecting spot, buried in a strip mall next to a Subway. As a result, if you don't hear about it from a friend or happen to see it on Yelp, you'll likely just drive past it, not knowing that you've missed some of the best Mexican food you'll find in BG. Inside you'll find only a handful of tables, so if you're looking to bring a group, I'd avoid peak times. The menu is laid out in a very straightforward manner, with less than 10 entree options available. The restaurant does a good job of presenting you with a variety of options to build off of those, so don't be concerned about this being a basic dining experience. There are a number of meat options (go for the Al Pastor, it's their signature, not to be missed), and you can't really go wrong. The layout of the "assembly-line" style setup of the restaurant is familiar to anyone who's stepped foot inside a Chipotle, but you'll be faced with more authentic ingredients here. As a first timer, I'd recommend you start with 4-5 street tacos and experiment with some of the protein options (just make sure at least one of those is Al Pastor).

The best thing on the menu though has got to be the guacamole- it's genuinely perfect. If anyone mentions this place as an option to eat then I'm there!

Standard menu for a Mexican establishment with the usual suspects of Burritos, Tacos, Nachos and of course Birria! They also serve the lunch menu all week long so there's a breakfast burrito that my daughter got that looked great. They weren't very busy and didn't have a lot of staff working when we arrived on a Sunday around 12. The server was very quick to get to our table and give us drinks, tortilla chips and salsa while we looked at the menus. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artwork and flags and you wouldn't think it was so nice from the outside but it is. Our food came out very fast and looked amazing. I ordered the Birria Quesadilla and it was amazing. Tender meat and very cheesy! The consommé is an extra charge so we got a cup to share. My wife had a Chicken dish with queso and rice that was also delicious. My son ordered a huge burrito that looked great but he did mention it not being the hottest. Overall good experience and we will visit again when we're in the area. They do charge gratuity automatically for parties of 6 or more so take that info as you'd like.

Good location, ample parking and surprisingly spacious dining room with plenty of tables. I'm surprised this place wasn't busier. I ordered the taco trio and chose the Baja taco with dealers choice on fish or shrimp, Al pastor taco and the carne asada taco with a cucumber lemonade to drink since they have Aguas frescas on tap. They served my drink right away and it was refreshing made with lemon instead of a traditional pepino that is made with limes. More like a lemonade with some cucumbers. The tacos came out fairly quick and looked amazing. They added a side of corn almost like elotes and some sauces and a couple slices of a radish one lime. The tacos were delicious I liked the freshness of the tortillas and heated with a bit of oil to make them soft but not fall apart soft on my carne asada taco and al pastor. They both had great flavor and the sauce were decent. The green one was like a tomatillo but not spicy and the red one was a little bit spicy. The Baja fish taco was really good made with a flour tortilla still crisp and held together well and the sauce was plentiful that I didn't even need to add anything. The fish was well seasoned and the slaw gave it a perfect texture. I don't eat corn that often but still tasted it and was great, seasoned with some spice and warm and cozy feels. I also picked a chocoflan and it was the perfect treat to end the meal. Beautifully moist dessert the only thing I prefer it a bit more Carmel sauce. The staff cleared up our table and were so nice. We came when they had trivia night and when in Rome you play trivia and it was actually fun but we didn't stay for the whole game. They also have a table that has cutlery, to go boxes, napkins and cups and ice water dispenser and some sauces. A place if I'm ever in the area again I will be stopping at again.

Over rated by far. All the food is extremely bland…read more Service is shotty. Wouldn't be back for $40 street tacos with no flavor.
