    Cochinita Fluffy Taco
    Gabriele E.

First time getting takeout here. It's great, there's a little window and you can ring the doorbell. I ordered the cochinita fluffy tacos and a side of tostones. The pork was cooked perfectly but I will say that it was lacking in flavor. The maduro added to the taco was a great touch though. The sweet and savory combo is my favorite. Would definitely order from here again!

My friend has been wanting to try this place for some time so we finally went for her birthday. We ordered several appetizers plantains, empanadas and Yucca fries. All were so delicious I never had yucca fries before but the texture was amazingly crisp and the flavor with the aioli sauce was a perfect pairing. The plantains were plump and an excellent texture. The empanadas were cooked well and had a decent oil based sauce to accompany them. For dinner I had pineapple with rice. I wasn't really a fan. I wasn't sure how all those flavors were suppose to tie in together. The rice was somewhat bland the peppers I gave away the cakes on the side were really hard I wasn't sure what it was suppose to be and the shrimp was ok but was in a pineapple paste that didn't really stay on the shrimp. Together with the rice in one bite was just not it. I was pretty disappointed. However my friend got a steak salad that was sooooo good. Another friend got red and green sauce enchiladas which were also just ok. I think I would return. Although I didn't like every single item I did enjoy the dim ambiance the hibiscus juice was fire and the service was quick and friendly. Due to it being my friend's birthday they brought a basket of churros with camel dipping sauce. They were literally little bites of heaven. So all in all this place is cool but probably hit or miss on the menu items.

When I read the menu and saw the photos I knew I wanted to get stuff here. Unfortunately, I found the fluffy tacos lacking in flavor and dripping in tons of oil. The tostones were also rock hard and bland. Service is nice but I was disappointed by the food.

Love the cuban sandwich and yuca fries. I usually order at westlake square when truck comes few times a month. I love it but just it's very inconvenient take it to go because sauces that they have there doesn't have any lid. One time I came with my own small containers and put sauces there because I was arranging my husbands business lunch in our high-rise in downtown and took 4 sandwiches to go and sauces.

Third time eating but first Yelp Review. Yes, I'm am overdue but all three visits have been Yummy. Almost didn't get to this review because I got my order and immediately thought Get in my Belly'. I was half wad though my meal before taking a pic!! Pork Tostones were delicious. The pork is flavorful and tender. The tostones are soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. Savory and satisfying. Looking forward to the next Mexicuban Truck visit.

The food was sublime! Me and my sister got the Tostones, chicken Fluffy Taco, Roast Pork with yellow rice and roasted beef. Everything was delicious, the tacos needed salsa and the service was good but the service would have been excellent if they refilled our water regularly, and the absence of complimentary chips and salsa was dearly missed. At Azteca they offer bottomless chips and salsa.

Hit this food truck for dinner and it left me with mixed emotions. We ordered online instead of walking up to the truck window which may have been where we went wrong. The hubs ordered the Cubano sandwich ($15) and I ordered Cochinita fluffy tacos ($13), no cilantro + jalapeños (+$0.50). Grabbed the food and my tacos had plenty of cilantro and no jalapeños. I popped back out to the truck and they said they were out of Jalapeños. Not the end of the world but a little annoying because the up charge was paid. I sort of grumbled that under my breath and to their credit they offered me some churros which I declined. Nice effort on the save and I realized ordering in person would have prevented the issue. Not sure if it was due to the fact that I waited a few extra minutes to eat my tacos while jalapeño hunting but by the time I sat down to eat, the tacos were swimming in oil. Flavors were good but I needed a mile high stack of napkins! The sandwich got a "ok" vote from my husband and everyone liked the yucca fries. Warning if you have a little one, there is no ketchup. Pros Good flavors Yucca fries Fast Cons Heavy on the oil If you have a toddler ketchup junkie you will be SOL

Food is good. If only they had better customer service and competent enough cooks that can actually get orders right. I've ordered through ubereats several times and they've messed up my order almost every time! So disappointing. I have even called the restaurant to ensure it's correct before the driver picks it up on several occasions. I spoke with a manager over the phone at one point and he even went as fast as lying stating he'd email me a gift card. This last time a different employee comped churros which was nice but they still didn't even get my order right! After I received order I reached out to inform them my order was incorrect yet again!! They never responded. They don't care enough to KEEP returning customers. They just want a fast buck. Complete bull! Beyond disappointed, Perhaps you get better service going in. I don't like being lied to tho either.

Service is great and their cuban sandwich was superb! For their rellenos and tacos -- lack of taste. I've seen other reviews as well that the fluffy tacos is interesting.

THIS place was everything plus more. I ordered the Cubano sandwich with yuca fries and men. I wish I would have ordered a second serving. Everything was fresh to order and delicious. The flavors were so savery I still can taste them as I'm typing my review. Unexplained gold mind. Definitely place I'd recommend and eat at again. 14/10

I'll start with the beef, as it was the primary component of the dish. Despite it being flank steak, it was clearly simmered for a long time - and displayed none of the traditionally chewy or dry properties associated with the tougher cut. The sauce also helped - it was very well spiced, and had a slight tomato-like flavor. Mixing this with the yellow rice yielded something that was really satisfying to eat. The combination of sauce, beef, and rice was quite enjoyable, even with mixing the vegetables in for some extra crunch. The portion size of beef was crazy. When combined with the rice, the total amount of food here was solidly enough for two full meals. It is around 20 dollars for the dish, but I would classify that as a good value when you consider how much food you get. On the opposite side, I swapped the maduros out for fries. These...were not good. The fries tasted stale, hard, and not appealing at all. While the portion size was high, the appeal was not. The sauce that came with these was interesting at least. Overall, I think this is a very strong core dish at an impressive portion. Would recommend sticking with the plantains as a side though. 8.5/10

We don't go super often since the menu is pretty much the same, but we are always so pleased with the food when we do go. You might think their claims about having the best sandwich is exaggeration. I've had a lot of good sandwiches, and this one is up there. I try to limit my meat intake, so I only ate a bite of my son's. It was a perfect bite. Their other sandwiches are extremely good too. Just try the shrimp. My one problem with them is that they are quite decadent, so I don't dare eat them too often. If I could, I would get one every time. We were going to have dinner in a few hours, so we decided to split the sandwich and some fries. I'm very glad we did. The gal who helped us was very kind and helpful. If you looked up service with a smile, you would see her face. We did tell her we were splitting the sandwich and it arrived cut in half. I don't know if that's normal or if she had it done because we were sharing. The food arrived with two plate plates (the gal heard us- great service) We ordered a side of Yucca fries, which came with an aïoli and a Caribbean roast sandwich. The fries were crispy on the outside, dusted with a signature seasoning and tender on the inside. Yucca is denser and more chewy than potato but quite tasty. The aïoli served with the fries was yummy. The real star, however is the Caribbean roast sandwich. They did not skimp on sandwich filling. The pork was tender to the point of melting in your mouth and so flavorful. I love making me some grilled onions and there were grilled ones along with some jalapeños. I don't know if it was paid, but I did find a sandwich hard to eat because it was a little messy, but let me tell you I do not stop me from finishing. I grabbed a fork so I could eat any pieces that fell out. Very tasty. great service

Good thing I happen to see via IG that they were having a neighborhood celebration for their 2nd year in business (6/7/26). After circling, I did manage to snag a parking spot at the end of the block. This popular hole in the wall is located on E Olive Way between a cannabis shop and a hair salon. Folks were already queued up or seated at the array of sidewalk tables and chairs. The vibe was festive and upbeat. I was mesmerized with the culinary dance that had three, including chef/owner Jose Garzon, cooking all the incoming orders for onsite eating or takeout in such a tight space. Reminded me of an efficiently laid out galley. I tried half of the Tio Dan Cono Glizzy. A grilled hot dog with cream cheese, caramelized onion, and picadillo beef. I also took home a can of Yonder cider for The Homie. I overheard that each hour there's other featured food. Fried rice was next up after the hot dogs. While waiting for my takeout order, it was great to just take in the vibe of the front counter and cooking area. No seating available, so I just walked back down Olive and savored the grilled Fake Ass Cuban. Think of a cubano using a trio of Hawaiian rolls generously filled with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard. The grill press, makeshift plancha, created a flavorful, cheesy end result. Omg, that was delicious! Another Capitol Hill culinary gem. Wishing everyone at Bad Chancla continued success!
