The ambience is great and service was amazing especially during lunch hour. I got enchiladas verdes, and I felt like there was not enough sauce and just a good plate of food.

Friendly service, great tasting food, and a casual vibe! They brought out a big sombrero and sang for my husband's birthday! Their food tastes very much like authentic Mexican cuisine that I used to eat when I lived in San Diego. Their margaritas and other drinks were strong (not complaining!). Their parking lot is small, and if you blink while driving down busy Van Dyke, you'll miss this quaint spot, but it's the perfect place to satisfy your Mexican food cravings.

Mexico City is a good overall restaurant. There will most likely be a wait for dine in during peak hours. The staff is sufficient, and the atmosphere is causal. There's little to complain about when it comes to the food. It's not the best Mexican out there, but it's better than average. Portion sizes are more than fair, as well. My favorites are the nachos and the tacos, specifically the al pastor and barbacoa.

I went to Mexico City restaurant with my boyfriend on a weeknight. The parking lot was busy, and it was fairly difficult to park. When we walked in, we were seated right away. It's decorated with bright Mexican colors. Once seated, They brought chips and salsa to our table and let us know which was hot and which was mild. We tried both and if I'm honest I felt like both of them were too spicy. The menu has several options. We ordered the queso dip as an appetizer. It came out quickly and was pretty good. Very creamy. For dinner both my boyfriend and I ordered the chicken fried quesadilla because it looked like it would be good. They were only ok. They really lacked salt, and my boyfriends were kind of burnt. They came with rice and beans (I asked for no beans), and the rice was only ok - it wasn't bad, it just needed more flavor. For dessert we both ordered the fried ice cream. It was pretty good. The chocolate sauce with the ice cream and the fried tortilla really hit the spot. The service was pretty good, the waitress kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly. Overall, we would go back to try other items on the menu.

We love this place. Best Street tacos around!! The service is always friendly. They do a lot of carry out business too. Don't let the full parking lot scare you. There is plenty of seating inside!

I've been coming here for like 4 years this is the best Mexican food in the area, the service is amazing, and the restaurant is clean. I will never stop coming here!

My first impression of this place wasn't good, but it ended up being a surprisingly good experience! When I walked in with some coworkers for lunch, the place was absolute chaos... people standing everywhere, no one knowing who to ask for a table, very little room to wait, etc. Luckily, I speak Spanish and was able to flag someone down to help us find a table after about a 10-minute wait. Then we sat down and I was horrified. Their lunch menu was basically what you'd expect from your typical "fake Mexican" restaurant -- hard shells (NOT a thing in Mexico), shredded cheese on tacos, and the only two meat options were chicken and ground beef. I looked across the table at another Mexican colleague and we gave each other an, "oh, no!" look. But then I saw some authentic looking tacos at another table, and I asked the waitress about it... apparently, their lunch menu is not their full menu. Once they brought us the full menu, they had plenty of authentic-sounding items to choose from. I ordered carnitas and carne asada tacos, and they were delicious. The tortillas were soft corn, the meat was perfectly seasoned, and one of the salsas was nice and spicy (the other two salsas weren't as good). Overall, I was happy I tried it, and it's definitely a solid place for Mexican food as long as you don't order from their lunch menu (which is clearly meant for the GM employees just down the road). I'll give it 4 stars because, while it's not their fault that the place is so popular, they could definitely have a clearer process for getting a table and avoid all the chaos.

My wife and I have been running errands and wanted to try something new for supper and found this place on yelp. When we arrived it seemed a little quiet, but the hostess/waitress quickly appeared and showed us to a table. From there everything went smoothly. I opted for a plate of enchiladas, and found them to be very well prepared and seasoned. The salsa had that wonderful tomato forward texture to it that I enjoy very much. The room is small, and it's clear that they get most of their business on carryout. That being said I think if you showed up with a somewhat larger party they would be glad to take care of you. They certainly took good care of us.

Being that I'm on this side of town for a few days, I figured it was finally time to check it out. The location's much bigger with more seating than the Rochester Hills one. Nicely decorated with ample seating, you order at the counter and they run the food out to you. Not sure if they have waitresses or not, but that's how they were running it when I was there. I asked if they had Birria tacos and the man behind the counter said they do, just not on the menu. I ordered the taco dinner with shredded beef, rice, beans and a glass of water. I got served chips and dip which was okay, but the salsa was a bit runny for my liking. The "hot" salsa was good, and wasn't overpowering. Eventually, my food came out and it was a huge portion! I was impressed with all three tacos, rice and beans. It was only $13 on the menu, so I was happy with how much food I was served. The beef was a little on the dry side but still fairly good. Rice and beans were decent, but the music was a bit on the louder side. I docked a star for the meat being a bit dry and louder music considering it wasn't really necessary. The man who rang me up was super nice and friendly and also went through the menu with me since I had a few questions before ordering. Overall, a decent meal for the price and I'd return in the future.

Small interior with some seating, but I got my burrito to go. Staff was friendly and my food was ready within 15 minutes of ordering. The tortilla was so greasy. Costco pizza x10. Seriously; I had to use some napkins on the tortilla because it was just soaked in grease. Not great. I got the steak. It was very good. Tender; no chewy bites and pretty good flavor. Good portions throughout the burrito. That was the highlight along with the guac. A chunky guac done well. It was fresh and just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, half my burrito was lacking in sour cream and cheese to the point I thought they forgot about it. The second half had better portions of those items, but more cheese would've benefited this. Finally, the fries were a joke. No seasoning and no crunch provided for a very unmemorable bite. A shame. Perhaps this was an off day. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. It was fine, but nowhere near what I was expecting. I might try this again, but need some time before I do that. Very good steak and guac. Everything else was lacking.

My wife and I started off with some drinks, the blueberry lavender margarita and the mango sunrise. The first thing that came to mind when I tried the former was "Mexican long island." The mango sunrise was delicious, and one of the better margaritas I've had locally. As for the food, we began the meal with complimentary chips and salsa and bowls of chicken tortilla soup. The chips were a bit stale. I order chicken tortilla soup most times it's on a menu, and this one was solid. For our appetizers, we got Miguel's nacho grande and a deep fried flour taco. Of these, I definitely preferred the nachos over the taco. I also preferred the flour chips from the nachos over the regular corn chips. For our entrees, my wife got cheese quesadillas, and I got the trio fajita. The quesadillas were run-of-the-mill. The trio fajita includes chicken, shrimp, and steak, and is quite a hearty dish. For dessert, we got the flan, which was to die for. My 3 favorite dishes from the meal were the soup, the nachos, and the flan. I would rather drive down to Mexicantown to get my fix of Mexican, but Juan Miguel's is a spot I would go back to.
