DO NOT EAT HERE!!! This is the worst tacos and service I've ever had!!! First I ordered tacos to go (2 orders), the order is suppose to be $9.99 each. They charge us over $35 dollars for the tacos and chips and salsa (other trucks give it for free) plus they didn't even have lime (who eat tacos without lime?). Also they just gave me a little paper plate with the tacos when I specified them more than once I wanted them to go. Really bad customer service and low food quality. read more

I had the worst tacos from here. Cold tortillas that broke so easily along with cold protein. Took one bite and threw it away. Please don't go to festivals, this was a ripoff to so many people. I paid $21 for three terrible tacos. read more

Rating thus truck against other Mexican Food Trucks I've tried. First.. homemade salsa! This is so critical. They have mild.. my favorite of the two.. with a clear taste of cilantro. The hot salsa was also great but don't expect it to be too spicy, just a good kick. The guacamole also tastes homemade and has nice chunks as it should. My only hope is they swap out the chips for a thinner more restaurant style and serve them warm. I ordered a chicken bowl with everything except corn and it's fantastic. I can taste a nice char on the chicken and portions are great. Loved having the display menu to help with ordering and the server showed is each item before adding it to our dish. Some trucks will say "pico?" And before you know it there is something surprising in the mix like corn (not authentic) or celery (um, just no). The pics of the toppings all looked exactly like what I got, not stock photos, bonus points for that! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for this truck again by Navy Yard Metro. The burrito was amazing! (And I'm picky about my burritos). I got the chicken, and it was juicy and flavorful.

3.5 stars - good variety of Mexican favorites here. Opted for the steak burrito, which they customized with the toppings and salsa I wanted. Steak was quite good, rice was tasty, but there wasn't as much salsa as I had expected. A bit overpriced at $10, but that's the deal with most food trucks. Solid, not spectacular. read more

The salsas were very good, but the flour tortillas were obviously not homemade, the steak was dry and low quality meat, and the cheese tasted exactly like Kraft shredded Mexican cheese. Ordered steak bowl. Steak was tough, flavorless, and bland. The bottom of the bowl was liquid so it was a matter of seconds before everything turned soupy. I didn't like the shredded cheese- flavorless and cut too thick, which prevented it from melting over the bowl (personal pet peeve of my mine). No way this was worth $10. read more

It's not authentic Mexican food. The name is misleading. They're American style tacos. They're not bad but they would improve greatly if they heated their tortillas. When I was given my plate I was surprised that it wasn't hot or warm. I think they have their ingredients pre-made and aren't grilling the meats inside (like I've seen other trucks do). The meat in my tacos was barley warm. The tacos tasted okay bc they were covered in a semi spicy salsa. 9.99 was too much in my opinion for 3 tacos that weren't generously filled. read more

Ethan provided a great experience! My fish burrito bowl with rice, beans, corn, cilantro, pico de gallo and guacamole... AMAZING! Such a great meal after leaving the African American museum. Don't let the food truck fool you; I could tell the freshness in the tilapia and the food would still be great even if it was cold. Wish I had the Mexicano Square truck up in NJ where I am from. Meh! Service was fast enough, but the young woman involved was not listening and the food was so-so. Had two chicken tacos. Asked for one with medium salsa and one hot, as my husband and I just wanted a quick snack on our way to metro after touring the Black History Museum. She wrapped them together, which would have been okay if she could have told me which was which. Since she obviously didn't care,in that split second, she couldn't remember. She had soaked our foil with water from the beans. I got my husband's out of the foil quickly, so he could eat his whole, but no such luck with mine. On top of that, it was a boring taco. Got the tacos and they were dry. You know when the tortillas are cold and really dry? Now I think maybe if they changed their name to American Mexicano Square or Tex-Mex Square then my standard and expectations would probably be met. Plus I should have known when the very friendly lady asked me what I wanted on my tacos. And when I asked for cilantro and onions, she said she didn't have just onions, but they had them in the pico De Gallo. And continued to ask me what else I wanted in my taco. Obviously we are dealing with some Tex-Mex here. Hence my disappointment when I read the name of the truck and my expectations for a legit street taco. If you're looking for authentic Mexican it's not here, however if you want a better option than Chipotle then this is your spot. As stated in my previous reviews, if Mexican is in the name, I expect my people to be making the food or at the very least, something close to authentic. A better description for the truck is Mexican inspired. On the menu they have burrito bowls, burritos, tacos, and then the menu goes Middle Eastern with gyros (Mediterranean tacos I guess). I had already committed to waiting in line and music they were playing was good. I wanted tacos but 2 tacos for $7 isn't justified, $3.50 a taco seems steep. I decided on a steak burrito, and was able to choose my toppings, so I avoided items like lettuce that have no business in a burrito. I topped my burrito with cheese, crema, onions, cilantro, onion, black beans, rice, and steak and salsa. Although I asked for the spiciest salsa available, there was nothing spicy about it, a bummer. The rice for the burrito didn't appeal to me, it was super long grain and thin, the type of rice found in middle eastern and indian dishes, it wasn't horrible, it was just odd. Hands down the best quesadilla. Coming from California to DC, I didn't expect this truck to offer a better option than Cali food. The cheese was perfectly melted and the tortilla was crispy. Ordered a steak burrito. It was pretty good considering he forgot to put the steak in it. By the time I realized there was no steak I was sitting in my office, 3 blocks away, and half-way through it. The owner later gave me a refund and offered me a free one after reading my review. I haven't had a chance to get another burrito yet.
