Waiting for an eternity in any queue is not my thing as I'll never be convinced of the wisdom of any crowd. That's why I avoid Chipotle like the plaque and head to Plainsboro, NJ for a fast meal at the Mexican Post. For any activity you could imagine, Plainsboro is never crowded and is routinely forgotten even by the people that live there. The Post delivers a formidable veggie burrito and tasty fish tacos with absolutely no wait. A perfect alternative when all you want to do is grab something well constructed, delicious and inexpensive and... get out of Dodge before lunch turns into a late night snack. Short, 2-inch black lock of hair that resembled the hair of the man making my salad embedded in my subpar meal. There's nothing special about the Mexican food in that it isn't compromised of any remarkable flavors - no distinct tastes that stand out. It can very easily be throw together at home, but you're paying for convenience. The sauces and guac are pretty bland and uninspiring - even the hot sauce doesn't have a kick. Came here for lunch with the in-laws and had an OK but not great experience. First, it's a place to grab a quick bite, so I'll ignore the pretty underwhelming ambiance :) It took the employees a long time to make my quesadilla (I think at least one of them was very new, so fair enough) and it was pretty disappointing. If I feel like I could make something very similar at home (and I'm NOT an amazing cook) about as quickly, then I'm not going to feel great about paying a premium for it at a restaurant. This used to be an ok place for fast casual Mexican food. The food was "once" reasonably priced, no frills, prepared in front of you (Chipotle and Subway style assembly line) prepared by staff who knew what they were doing. Come 2023, the food quality is now substandard, portions and fixes are cut back, prices have gone up drastically, service is downright bad, the place is dirty and unhygienic, and they have "hidden" charges. If you don't notice on the check, you'd end up paying a lot of extras--almost 25% more than what is on the menu board. See picture of the check. They even charge about 5% extra for credit card payment. Downright cheating! I ordered burrito bowl, price on the board changed to illegible $12.99 which in the first place is too much for their quality, location, and service. While making the burrito bowl, the preparer skimped on the portions of fixings, adding only 50% of normal quantities anywhere. When asked to add a little more sauce I was told it'd be an extra charge. That was a shock! Extra for hot sauce!!!! What's even worse is that the sour cream was watery--definitely diluted! Having paid, I realized something did not add up on the check. See picture. They charged extra for meat (on the menu board it's included), extra for sauce (should be included), price for a 12.99 burrito overcharged, surcharge fee $1.04 (for credit card payment...is that even legal, I wonder). Not familiar with Mexican Post, I asked, "so it's basically expanded menu Chipotle". I'll answer with a yes and a no. "Yes" because you get to create bowls or burritos with the same basic staples. Plus they have lots of additional sandwich options. Yes because, I do think they have more to offer than Chipotle; including an expansive list of toppings including squash, olives, and free guac! I also loved the extra tofu option at a cheaper rate! My bowl in the end was pretty much a pile of fresh veggies,as I opted out the beans and rice to add more veggie room. I was so glad I did. I thought I'd be hungry with no heavy starches, but they really packed my bowl. Everything was so fresh. I loved the tofu, it was perfect for my craving. Juicy, not dried out, lots of flavor profile. My girlfriends and I decided to order some food from Mexican Post to kickstart our holiday weekend. The estimated time for arrival was between 6:00-6:10 PM. Around 6:20 PM, we called Mexican Post to get an update on our order. We were told the driver was on his way to us. The food arrived at 7:11 PM, an hour after the estimated time. Our food was cold and my tacos had started to disintegrate into the food. My queso could be turned upside down; that is how congealed it was. We called Grubhub to complain. Mexican Post refused to make any accommodations for our gross inconvenience because, and I quote, "they are a half hour away." False. They are 20 minutes away. I am uncertain how some tacos and burritos could take about 2 hours to reach my doorstep. Mexican Post is a disgraceful representation of both customer service and good quality. Perhaps the management needs to understand how to maintain a client base. And master rudimentary geography. read more

I can't possibly convey my distaste and inability to leave less than one star. The delivery driver only responded to our inquiries after our order was to arrive by stating they left the restaurant ten minutes after delivery was due. Our food arrived an hour after our delivery was supposed to arrive. It was cold. The cheese had not only congealed, but separated into both cheese and oil. I had company visiting from out of town and I have never quite been so embarrassed and disgusted by food that came into my home. Their excuse was that the restaurant is thirty minutes away. This doesn't address that they left ten minutes after the delivery was supposed to arrive and how the restaurant is only 18 minutes away. We clocked it about 40 minutes after our delivery was late to see if we could have run faster. (To answer that, we could have). Certainly the driver could have shown some sort of dismay on arrival. A flat tire. Vehicle damage showing they were rear ended. Even a sincere apology with statements of their kitchen being backed up. No, we were given a shrug as we were handed food that had congealed. The plastic bags were filled with pools of oil that dripped off of our to go tins as we pulled them out of the bag. My suggestion is to avoid at all costs. read more

Every time I am in this restaurant, I have to eat while listening to a female and male employee argue at the top of their lungs. No matter how many customers are in the restuarant, could be a full restaurant, I have watched them scream back and forth with no regard to how awkward and horrible an experience it becomes for everyone else. Food is great, service is good, but just having to listen to these two argue every time I'm in there is pushing me to not return to this location. If you are planning on getting food here, hope that neither of these two are working the same shift and/or just take the food to go. read more

I would highly recommend this place for a quick bite in the Plainsboro area. The reason: good customer service and fresh, flavorful food. The velocity through this place is high during lunchtime on weekdays with a lot of turnover on the food. The variety is good with my go to order being pulled chicken burrito bowl. You could do a salad bowl for lower carb option. The food is plentiful and one entree, no sides is adequate. One of the full-time guys there is pleasant to deal with and all the food prep folks are patient with the orders, which is a huge plus. Overall, highly recommend it ... I really like this place! I come here with my second family a lot. (Special shoutout to them if they know who they are and see this.) Like many people have said, it's similar to Chipotle but only in style. The food is generally much more fresh than Chipotle and you have more options. I've gotten both the burrito and the bowl filled to over-capacity, which is awesome. I'm always incredibly full and suffering from a food coma after. So, if you do like a lot of salsas and juicy ingredients, I don't recommend getting a burrito because that exploded, but in a good way. Also, I don't know how to eat burritos or keep the tortilla intact but I keep trying. The employees I've encountered are all really friendly and are eager to make small talk. read more

Now each time we order, the food is getting greasier and greasier. This time, our food was delivered in an actual bag of grease. They offered shredded and grilled chicken, beef, and beans! First, you choose the form and you have choices of tacos, burritos, salads, bowls, and quesadillas. Then, you fill it up with the proteins, veggies, and sauces! I got a shredded chicken burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and salsa! The prices were relatively similar to their competitors. The burrito bowl was about $8.30 with tax. We had a coupon. Also, Yelp is currently offering a deal, and if you check in, you also get 25% off! The price is not bad! For $10, you can get a decent meal plus a drink!
