This used to be our favorite Mexican food restaurant up until five months ago or so. The food used to be absolutely amazing. It was fresh, hot and the portions were generous. Now, after three times of going and being disappointed, we have decided not to visit this restaurant again. This place had amazing fish tacos and really good burritos too. The service was always really good as was the ambiance. The amazing smell of freshly made Mexican food and the awesome decorations on the walls and inside too. An even better benefit is unlimited free chips too. You can grab as many chips you like and keep stocking up on them too as they're delicious and can tell freshly made on site. This place should be take out only. There were no prices posted anywhere on the wall or on the menu. Gluten-free items were not marked on the menu and no one knew what gluten-free meant when asked. The food quality and portions were just okay and there was no table service. Staff was not welcoming and music was very loud. They did turn it down when we asked nicely in Spanish. Plastic utensils and stale chips with salsa in tiny plastic takeout containers. Steak fajitas were tough and corn tortillas were greasy. There are many better options in the area. read more

Service was pretty quick although there was no one in when we arrived. Place was fairly clean. Authentic, inexpensive, and delicious! If you are looking for a taco spot to try, this is the place! Each item comes with an abundance of sauces and sides like rice and refried beans. The beef and chicken were tender and flavorful in both tacos. And their soup for the video was soooooo good, I could drink the whole container. Definitely get their loaded nachos and hibiscus tea when you're there extremely filling and delicious!! I ordered fish tacos to go from inside the restaurant. The menu said it came with a side of beans and rice. I didn't notice the beans had meat in them until after I started eating them. I don't eat meat! When I called to find out which meat it is, their AI said the beans are vegetarian. I asked to speak to someone in the restaurant. They put pork in the beans! All the tacos come with rice and beans--including the veggie tacos. I was offered a choice of tortilla but not beans! It doesn't say anywhere on the website that the beans have meat in them! Some meat eaters don't even eat pork. I'm disgusted! read more

I've never had a bad item from this place. I started coming in 2023. They changed their menu a little since then, I used to always order the chimichanga (I miss it!) but their items now are still great. I took my husband with me last time, he got the beef birria tacos and I got the quesabirria and a piece of flan for dessert - everything was delicious and they give you pretty big portions and plenty for your sides. The guys working that day were friendly, service was great and the wait wasn't too long. I'm always surprised when I come here and it's not busy or full. This place smelled bad. I can't describe the nasty smell, but it was off-putting. The bathroom actually smelled better. In fact I considered eating in there, but ... well ... no. The other thing that put me off is how unwelcome I felt. I asked for a menu and the guy pointed at a QR code, a practice I find annoying. So I said I didn't have a phone, to see what happened. Because some people don't have phones, right? I was expecting he'd pull out an emergency menu, but no. He just shrugged. I guess you can't eat here then, was the message I got. I saw a generic list of items on the wall, so I ordered chicken enchiladas. Then I picked a seat from the haphazard collection of barren tables, some still covered with the residue of past diners' feasts. He called me when my own feast was ready, and I went up and got it. I will say it was tasty. It came with rice and beans, each in a cup. Plastic utensils. But I enjoyed the food. I didn't enjoy smelling the awful smell while I ate, but I grew to ignore it. So don't expect a nice dining experience at a comfortable table. Just get your food and run. read more

Friendly staff and good food. Very nice Mexican spot. From the outside it looks a little small but once you go inside it's pretty spacious. I feel like this place is alright. Nothing crave-worthy but if you're hungry and nearby, it's an alright meal. I walked in and was the only customer. Ordered chicken enchiladas to go. They prepared it pretty quickly but seemed a little disorganized. The guy behind the counter assembled a tray with rice, beans, and salad for me, and then put the wrong main dish in it. He looked at me and said, "wait... what did you order?" When I said chicken enchiladas, he open the box, took out the wrong main & put chicken enchiladas in for me. He kept closing the bag up and then reopening it, realizing he forgot to put something in (a fork, chips/salsa.) It seemed like he was either new, filling in for someone temp, or maybe just tired/not alert. Another customer walked in saying "picking up Grubhub for Rob," and they just looked confused again like they didn't know whose order that was. The food itself was fine. Black beans could use a little salt. I really liked the flavor of the enchilada sauce. It's kinda smoky tasting. One thing that's different from any other place I've gotten chicken enchiladas is that they used diced up grilled chicken. Usually when I've gotten it from other restaurants, it's pulled/shredded chicken, but the diced chicken tastes fine. The lime they packed for me was so dry that I couldn't even squeeze a single drop out. They forgot to add avocado. Overall - it wasn't a bad meal; I don't feel like I wasted my money or anything. It's just an okay meal that filled me up when I was hungry. Nothing to rave about. read more

We stumbled on this place enroute to Trenton from 6 flags for a quick take home dinner. This is a place you do take out from, and is placed in a strip mall in a forgettable little store front BUT.... Inside you will find amazing home cooked, authentic Mexican food! The kids got pulled pork burritos and enjoyed them. I didn't try them, but a happy kid is a happy parent! Our meals however were truly excellent! We got pulled pork nachos and the birra tacos! The nachos had a ton of well seasoned, lean meat and plenty of other beans and layers of yumminess. But the BIRRA tacos were the show stoppers! In all my years of Mexican food, I had never heard of that much less had tried it. The beef was super soft, lean and tasty. The tacos alone tasted good but the consumeé was really amazing to dip the taco into! Because of how the taco was made, it kept its shape and didn't break. Loved the green salsa! read more

I'm a particular fan of the Mariachi Platter: it's a nice way to get a sampling of several of their offerings (although I wish you could mix and match the protein elections). Portions are very generous for the price point, especially now as so many restaurants are having to either shrink portions or increase prices to get by. So why the middle-of-the-road rating? Order accuracy. This location seems to manage to either forget or improperly execute something in my order nearly every time. This isn't a metaphorical "every time," I mean literally almost Every. Single. Time. I'm not talking special order, add this, hold that, substitute these items either, just straight as the menu describes it orders. My brother and I love to check out new places. This place isn't exactly new but new to us. It was recommended by a friend and it sound worth checking out. I ordered the Mariachi Plate and my brother the beef Chimichanga. We ordered at the counter and took a seat. If you want you can watch them make your meal since it is all visible from the dining room. The place is very casual and reminds me of the little hole in the wall places I have loved going to where ever I found them. When our meals were ready they bring it to the counter and call your name. (Since these are the days of Covid and there were plastic partitions hanging I am not sure if meals are brought to before Covid protocols.) The meals are setup in reusable aluminum trays you can carry to your table without worry of them falling apart. The portions were generous and well presented. Once we dug in we were happy to find it was as good as it looked. My meal came with multiple items (which I wish I had noted before I left) and each was more flavorful than the last. This wasn't commercial fat food Mexican, this was authentic tasting like the Mom & Pop place I used to go in New Hampshire and the places go when visiting my family in Dallas. Everything was fresh, made to order and loaded with ingredients! The ground beef in my taco was flavorful and loaded with toppings and it didn't fall apart like fast food tacos. There was a small quesadilla with cheese, a beef burrito, a chicken tostado stacked high with chicken, pico de gallo and topped off with a slice of avocado. It had sides of excellent black beans and rice all topped with cheese! It was hardy and delicious. I was so full I had to bring the burrito home. Looking forward to that as a late night snack! My brother's beef chimichanga was packed solid with fixings with a generous salad salad on the side and two sides of black beans and rice. He was stuffed. We both passed on getting dessert since we were both full. I love that they make all their sauces onsite and everything is made fresh. Makes such a difference. We will definitely be back! You can order online or do takeout. They have 3 other locations in the Trenton area and a large one near Rowan with a full bar. Can't wait to checkout that one! read more
