Right after I got sick my fiancé came down with the same virus and also FaceTimed Weill Cornell about 3 weeks later the both of us got the same exact bill of $375 more then triple what they were advertising. Had I known I was going to pay that much I would've went to a hospital or urgent care center and actually saw a doctor in person instead of FaceTiming one because the doctor that I spoke to was also wrong about what I had. I don't know how they are when you go in but if you're planning on FaceTiming them thinking you're saving money... don't because you're not.

Today,…read moremount sinai decided to hire people who are less compassionate, and have leadership like Dr. Nina Priven a Director who is subjective and does not pay attention to the information is given to her. She instead is protecting her turf by disagreeing with the complainer. Wow, not objective at all. But her leadership is the reason the place is falling apart because she may not be taking the time to assess, nor, observe, or maybe she does not care which she has proven to me when we last spoke just recently. I guess the prestige of this hospital is the reason why this Director is so arrogant that she forgotten why she is there. I guess the perspective to save lives is not within her reach anymore. That is the reason the workers in the reception area is so rude is because they lack tact in their Leadership with Dr. Nina Priven. Mount Sinai should consider assessing another candidate to run the Ansonia location.

I have been a patient of Dr. Abroon for many years and at every appointment he greets me with a…read moresmile and warm hello! Dr. Abroon has all the qualities that are important to me in building a healthy doctor/patient relationship! At the top of my list is that Dr. Abroon is a good listener. He never rushes my appointment and always addresses my concerns, thoughts, opinions and viewpoint. For example, Dr. Abroon will take the time to read an article I clipped from a health newsletter on a subject I felt was pertinent to my care. Dr. Abroon is very knowledgeable, concerned for my well-being, will make referrals when necessary and follow up on my reports. Dr. Abroon is empathetic, compassionate and caring. The staff is always cheerful, efficient and polite. There are times I forget to mention something at my appointment and get upset with myself. But, I feel comfortable calling the office when I get home. I know that Dr. Abroon will return my call and with his calming voice say, "Alice, how are you? How can I help you?" These are the qualities that are important to me!

Echoing the sentiments of some others, as someone who has intimate knowledge of medical billing…read morepractices, Dr. Abroon is unethical in this regard. Here is my experience: I'll start by saying that the staff were friendly and professional, but that is the extent of the positivity here. I have in-network insurance, early 30's, low risk for heart issues and, by choice, just underwent a full ECG and heart stress test with a licensed cardiologist/heart doctor specialist about 6 months ago. 40+ minute wait. Dr. Abroon is NOT a cardiologist. He is a PCP. Yet he insisted, even after I told him and his staff that I just did a fulsome heart exam with a cardiologist, that (1) I pay $250 out of pocket UNLESS (2) they administer an EKG at the start of the visit without having assessed symptoms or risks or heart issues. His staff conveyed that he does an EKG on all his patients, which is medically unnecessary according to a number of medical authorities (see, for example, https://www.aafp.org/family-physician/patient-care/clinical-recommendations/all-clinical-recommendations/cw-ekg.html). Could I have opted to pay $47 to move forward with his EKG? Sure. But on principle this is very clearly a very wrong thing to do. It is not ethical to push an unnecessary medical exam that is costly for an insurance company so he can receive pure financial gain, and again, what's worse is that when I declined the EKG, he gave me the ultimatum that he would otherwise charge me a whopping $250 out of pocket. After I raised all these issues with Dr Abroon, he declined to proceed with our visit. Dr. Abroon's practice is patently unethical, and calls to question whether he has tendencies to conduct his practice this way more broadly. I encourage you to avoid this place. There are plenty of providers in the city that are upstanding.

Great spacious and clean office; very helpful and professional front desk. Dr Martin Malachovsky was very direct, without misleading embellishments of small talk ( i always prefer honest talk right upon health issues), he found the root of my pain in a few minutes. I am reluctant to pharmaceutical products, I believe in natural treatment. Doctor showed me the exercise that i started to use same day and it is miracuously saving me from pain, it is exactly what i was needed to prevent a pain and to be in control of my issue. Dr. Martin Malachovsky is honest and great internist, exceptionally knowledgeable and just in all ways a doctor to whom i felt from first moment immediate trust and I would consider to have only this doctor in future, and i am not an easy patient.

Unfortunately I didn't see this doctor embody either of these. She came in like a storm and just went through my chart on the computer, not really having the patience or compassion that I was seeking. I don't think I finished a sentence the entire visit. The women's center was a great concept 5-6 years ago, when it first opened, unfortunately the entire place now looks super dated and run down in such a short period, all of the 4 elevators didn't work for most of the morning and they're located on the 12th floor, the receptionists ate their lunches at the check in desk and everyone just seems a bit miserable. I'd suggest trying any of the many other doctors available in this city. Also- I went to a ENT specialist a few weeks prior, also at Weil Cornell, and was sent 2 different emails asking about "my experience" I've strangely received none about this visit with Dr Rieger- I'm super curious on why that is. Best of luck to those looking for a pcp as I will be as well.
