History
Established in 2023.
We are a space to practice yoga that specifically supports the changes in the body that happen once you become pregnant and after you experience birth.
The goal of our studio is to help support moms and moms to be. Not only in their yoga practice, but also by creating a community of mothers that can help support each other. Our modern day society expects woman to raise children without a larger societal support system. Metta Mama is here to break that isolating paradigm.
Our prenatal classes help with your physical health, mental health and emotional health during pregnancy, as well as help prepare your body for labor. Our Postnatal yoga classes are specifically created to help you ease back into exercise in a safe way by slowly building back up the strength in your glutes, hips and your core complex (shoulders, back, pelvic floor, diaphragm) so that you can avoid any injuries postpartum. And you can bring your baby, getting out of the house even if you do not have childcare.
Meet the Manager: Ashley S.
Ashley began teaching in 2012, but found her true calling when she got pregnant with her daughter in 2016 and started teaching pre and postnatal yoga. Passionate about guiding women through the transformative process of pregnancy and becoming a parent, Ashley teaches a strong, alignment based practice where mamas can connect more deeply to their own body through movement, breath, and mindfulness practices. Ashley strives to empower her students by teaching them about the changes that take place in their body during pregnancy and after giving birth. Now a mother of two, she knows the importance of creating a community of strong women that can support each other and she is honored to do that work at Metta Mama, both as a teacher and as the Director of the space.
