This time, the handling of her food allergies is what stands out. When we ordered drinks, my wife told our server she's allergic to strawberries. She also has a gluten allergy and asked for gluten-free bread, which had been no problem on our first visit. This time it never arrived. After ten minutes we flagged down our drink server, who found it sitting on the counter, ready but forgotten. Dessert is where things really fell apart. There are only two gluten-free options, so we ordered the chocolate cake. It arrived without utensils, sitting in strawberry sauce. When we explained the allergy, the young host who brought it didn't offer a replacement. My wife asked for a single scoop of coconut gelato instead, and he argued with her that they don't do single scoops. He returned a minute later with a spoon for me, but nothing for her. Our drink server later tried to make it right with a scoop of vanilla gelato, but by then the moment had passed. Honestly, the mistake with the sauce bothered us less than the response to it. Allergies get missed sometimes. What matters is what happens next, and here, nothing good did. This wasn't the only rough moment. We arrived on time for our 6:45 reservation, were told the table needed ten more minutes, and were firmly instructed to wait in our car so the host could make room for the crowd coming in. No one else came in while we waited. To be fair, our drink server was attentive and kind every time we saw him. I think the team-service model, where a different person handles each part of the meal, is part of the problem. Information like a food allergy clearly isn't being passed along. And it isn't fair to blame a young staff member for a bad night. That falls on management, which put someone without enough training in a customer-facing role. The food earns a return visit. The service, especially for diners with allergies, needs work first.

The "Batata Bravas" and Hummus Salad Plate with Pita were excellent -- especially thanks to the flavorful sauces they stood out. Both were very flavorful. However, the Cod Croquettes and Grilled Octopus fell flat: the croquettes were a bit dry, and the octopus was chewy instead of tender. Zayith's ambiance is clean and functional, but it didn't feel warm or cozy. More like an upscale cafe, than a dinner restaurant. And the modern-electric-pop music was unexpected. Not unpleasant, in fact we kind of liked it actually. Just surprising. The service was good. They have a full bar, but on this Wednesday night there was no full-time/professional bartender, nor bar seating. The cocktails were okay, but nothing to get excited about. Overall: we liked the evening, but definitely wouldn't rush back. 3 stars.

Could not hear my dinner partner when we tried to talk because of the loud chatter. We thought to ask for another table by we thought that maybe they would quiet down a bit and then we were already being served to eat. So the service was great and food also but beware where you are seated. I would go back but will ask to be reseated and hopefully they can get some noise control in their rooms.

We booked a small 15 person wedding luncheon last weekend and received horrible service from the function manager as well as management. Do not book a function there. My meal was rancid but I didn't want to embarrass anyone by saying that at the table. When I called to tell them the manager said I was lying because that's her favorite meal. The stuffing smelled and tasted like it was from last thanksgiving. I noticed many people just pushing their food around on the main entree. She said they would have only refunded the money if I spoke up at the time in front of everyone. But that's the kind of class these people have. Also, very high room rental rate which they lie about on the phone and tell you it is just a deposit to hold the room and will be refunded later on your bill so long as you show up for the event. Then after they get the payment they send an email with a link that says it will not be refunded whether you show up or not. That it's not actually a deposit to hold the room. That it's a room rental fee. Non refundable. Then they insinuate that you should tip on the meal AND the room rental fee that they lie to people about. A shame because they've tarnished a long held good reputation of a charming historic location by employing highly unethical people who lie.

Hostess was friendly as well as our server. We had the waffle fry nachos to start, then I had the grilled turkey tips (they were wonderful!) and my husband had the truffle Mac and cheese with pulled pork. - he did say the pork was a little dry, but asked for some bbq sauce and he said that helped. Restaurant and bathrooms were nice and clean and I loved the simple decor. If you're in the area I would definitely give the Oak barrel Tavern a try!

Even though we were first on the waitlist when we arrived, we still ended up waiting another 20 minutes while several parties who arrived after us were seated before us. There were three girls working the front desk. They were pleasant, but they seemed pretty confused and unsure of how the waitlist was supposed to work, which didn't make the wait any easier. Our waitress was very friendly, and the service at the table was good. The food itself was fine, but nothing really stood out. The children's juice box being $4 definitely caught my attention. It felt a bit steep for what it was. Overall, it was a pretty average experience. We decided to skip dessert and went across the street instead. I wouldn't rush back, but it wasn't terrible. Just not particularly memorable.

They only serve breakfast and lunch, and they close early (2 pm weekdays). The staff, from the hostess to the servers, were all very friendly. Nice to see smiles again in a restaurant! I loved the maple margarita. Perfect balance of sweet and salty. The food came out hot and nicely plated. Do not miss the smashed potatoes, the veggie hash, and the freshly squeezed juices. All are delicious. My omelette was jam packed with all kinds of veggies. The only negative is that it is very loud inside and can be hard to hear your own conversation. I've been here for both of my sisters' graduation brunches, and we always leave happy. It's become one of our favorite spots for a celebratory brunch. For drinks, I tried their new Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte with oat milk. It was a bit thicker than I expected--possibly because of the oat milk. I can definitely see some people loving that texture, but for me it was just okay. That said, it was still a good drink, and the hint of vanilla came through nicely without overpowering the matcha. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes for the table. 1. The chicken and waffles had so much flavor, and the poached eggs were cooked perfectly--not too runny, but still soft, gooey, and delicious. The chicken was a little soggy, but it made up for it by being incredibly tender. 2. The blueberry pancake was fantastic. Their pancake portions are huge, so this time we only ordered one to share. It was delicious, though definitely on the heavier side. 3. The house burger was easily the standout dish of the meal and might be my favorite item on the menu. It's simple and classic, but packed with flavor. 4. The chicken burger, on the other hand, was disappointing. The chicken was quite dry, and I probably wouldn't order it again. I think something like pickled onions or another acidic topping could help bring some balance and moisture to the sandwich. 5. We also tried the omelet, which was very good, especially with the goat cheese. What really made the experience special was that the staff noticed we were celebrating a graduation and surprised us with complimentary donuts. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to end the meal.
