When Ted, from the Window People, came out to measure he wrote up the $2,700+ window order for white hardware even though the window he was replacing and every window in the house had brass hardware. The new window was installed and later I noticed the hardware did not match the old window. When I asked to have the hardware replaced, Ted wanted over $100 to swap it out. Ted and I went back and forth over "I signed for white hardware" versus "You were instructed that I wanted the exact same window as before but longer vertically". Ted wants the money... I called customer service at Marvin Corporate and Jill was great. She sent me the hardware as a courtesy at no cost. Marvin makes a great window but where you purchase it from is important and if you are looking for reasonable support I would not call The Window People.

We did an online search in the area like most new home owners would (unfortunately) and this company came out. Their website 'looked' great and the sales rep Chris on the line even 'sounded' nice. But it turned out to be shady business disguised underneath. After they did a measurement, they told us we needed a custom size door, which is costly. We were confused about the custom size and decided to get a second opinion. Thank goodness we did! A second vendor did a measurement and told us that our opening only needed a standard size door. We of course went with the 2nd vendor and got the exact same Anderson 200 door installed successfully last week with literally half the price (including tips). This shady company tried to jack up their price by lying to their customer about needing a custom size door. Dishonest and shameless biz practice. BUYER BEWARE.

When they asked why I was there I told them why. The salesperson was upset because his current victims/customers were there and overheard. He showed up at my house to do his best to embarrass me. From my driveway, he started to yell at me that I cost him business. This time I have a ring doorbell to catch his unprofessional possibly steroid induced behavior. He cost himself business by being a liar. The owner came by my house after this fiasco and offered me paint so I could paint my door the BLACK color that I initially ordered. He had the gall to say that the espresso/black color went better with my house anyway. My house was under renovation so he proved my point-I'm not trying to match the current color. I'm matching what it will be. Lastly, the fancy keypad doorknob they sold me was not installed correctly because the door would not close!!! They came back to fix it to loosen the screws to accommodate the misalignment. I wasted over $10000 on this poor excuse of a business. RUN. It is not worth it to do business with this company. They also need promised satisfaction guaranteed but they don't mean the customer-they are only concerned with themselves. THEY ARE A SCAM.

I had very limited experience with contractors. This company won me over but guaranteeing their work and servicing for "several years". Here is my opinion of them, after a year and a half since they "finished" their work: 1. quality of work: - POOR. They try to do many things "in-house", where their same workers being universally skilled at almost everything and therefore masters at nothing. Quality is from INTERMEDIATE to POOR. Many things had to be re-done, The would break one thing while fixing another, they keep creating more problems as they go along. They would also mislead me into believing that they do certain types of work (electric floor heating) , when they had no experience at all. They did not properly size the area, and installed electric wiring in the floor in a very unsafe and inefficient way, which caused the thermostat to trip. They persuaded me to install the electrical heated floors in the areas, that will never require it, simply due to physics. 2. Third Party Contracting: For come of the work they would hire another company. For the most part they would do the cheapest, low quality work, that would need to be re-done, due to safety concerns. For example they hired a company to install stairs. The quality was so bad, that the steps would start collapsing. I had to warn them of impending injury and wait for a while for them to get it repaired. 3. Procrastination / Abandonment: Even after I repeatedly warned them to winterize the house plumbing, they failed to do it and caused damage to the house. They also failed to secure /remove construction garbage /debris from my property, (despite my repeated warnings) which flew through out the neighborhood and cause me to get multiple violations from the village. They would also disappear for weeks, in the middle of work. I would later find out that they work on another property. 4. Price vs Quality: As I mentioned the quality ranged from MEDIUM to LOW, but the fees they charged where on par with very nicely done, expensive professional work. 5. Warranty. They did not honor their promise and about 8-9 months after they finished, I started having plumbing issues (they installed plumbing). They dont respond to repeated WhatsUp messages or the phone texts or calls. But the funny thing is that I dont trust them, so I rather pay someone else to fix it, rather having them come over and risking them break something else. In summary, I would definitely not recommend Royalties International Inc.
