The fare is only $1.25 each way and it certainly beats having to pay for parking in these congested areas, however the ride isn't always pleasant. Homeless people continue to use the train, spread out on the benches and hang out to take advantage of the air conditioned cars among the hot Houston summers. Over the past year or so I have noticed that there are more fare inspectors, outfitted in neon yellow shirts, however these hasn't proven to be effective in reducing the homeless presence. Over the years I have seen people smoking on the training, sleeping, and even masturbating....yikes.

I had a good opportunity to experience Houston's METRORail this weekend, riding from downtown to…read morethe Museum District and then again to/from Minute Maid Park. For $1.25, I'd say that it's fantastic. Trains seemed to run often enough to fit my needs, they were clean and they were speedy. Quiet (compared to the steel on wheels of Boston and New York) and modern (compared to London or Paris), the trains don't go all that far but they go far enough to allow a tourist like me to forsake a car rental and parking for getting around. Very simple system which operates on a proof-of-purchase system. You will need to keep your ticket handy as more than half of my rides had a fare inspector on board. You get to ride for a solid four hours for that buck and a quarter. Awesome!

This station is named after the movie The Fulton Our Stars…read more Fulton Station is not far from downtown, and does a wonderful job in providing a path into downtown and back for people who don't want to drive in or don't have cars. It's only a few stops from downtown but is far enough away where taking the train is a great idea. Usually clean, very easy to access, no security at all, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

Every time without fail, the drivers arrive before the scheduled pick up time, equipped with luxurious professionalism and the cleanest vehicles I have ever been in. The rides are smooth, safe and accommodating and I always arrive to my destination with ample time to spare. My latest trip 4 days ago was with Trina and I loved her. Excelsior always has the best-mannered, safest chauffeurs but Trina was especially warm, impeccably presented and a true professional. I truly feel that I couldn't have been in better hands. In addition to all of this, I needed to change my reservation last minute. Excelsior's customer service was quick to respond and incredibly accommodating. I highly suggest booking your trip with them if you care about punctuality, flexibility, and high-end vehicles in immaculate condition. I, personally, wouldn't book with anyone else.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing shuttle/limo service. Thank you!

He took me to the IAH airport on a Weds. evening and promised to be waiting there when I returned on Friday evening. Needless to say, he was faithfully waiting there even though my flight was nearly an hour late. He is a quiet and reserved Gentleman and a highly skilled and safe driver. EVERY TIME I FLY TO IAH, JOLA WILL BE MY DRIVER!!! he can be reached at 832.282.2426 or mojola@sbcglobal.net I proudly give "Jola" my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!!!

Made me regret ENTIRELY cancelling the Uber I had originally ordered. Do yourself a favor, stick to ANY rideshare company, just not these guys!!! It's exactly why Uber & Lyft have taken over. I got into one of these "taxis", yesterday after arriving at IAH around 3:30pm. I only regret not getting the license plate number because I'm pretty sure I was in a FAKE AF cab. Once I'm about to pay ($9.40), the driver says I can't pay with a card, then I go to pay cash, and he adds $10 saying some BS gibberish about it being an airport fee or some crap. So tell me how I hand him a $20 and get back $2 on a literal 5 minute drive? Never mind how distracted he was talking on his phone, yeah with headphones but i don't give a shit, you're working, I don't need you distracted. So it's the phone and 2 other screens and monitors and the map and I'm just sitting in the back hoping not to die. He was a scum bag and I wouldn't trust the so-called company he supposedly works for.

I recently had the pleasure of flying with this airline on a trip from IAH to Rome. My…read moretransAtlantic leg was with Privatair. I was shocked to arrive at my gate and see a small plane sitting at the end of the jetway. I was expecting a huge transAtlantic monster, what I saw was something like a plane I would take to Seattle or New York. I asked the men at the gate and sure enough, that was our plane. Seems the little guy's cargo bays had been modified to hold more fuel. More interesting, the whole plane was business class. A-OK by me, since that's how we had booked. The grade A treatment started with the pleasant conversation with the men at the gate and continued happily from there. PrivatAir was operating the flight on behalf of KLM, by the way. The service given to us by the crew was very pleasant. We never wanted for a thing. The wines and food served were highly enjoyable. Actually I have to say it was the best food I have had on any flight. The accommodations for our rest while making the jump across the Atlantic were great. Pillows were nice and big, blankets were warm, thick, and comfy. Our little goodie bags were nice as well and had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a bit more of a recline on the seats, but it was definitely enough to be comfortable and it was not the completely flat seats that are strangely uncomfortable. Waking up was gentle and happy, as breakfast was as good as dinner. I can't say much about in flight entertainment, as I didn't really watch anything. My travel companion, however was happy with the selection and seemed to enjoy herself. If you get the chance to book the late flight from IAH to Amsterdam with KLM and book business class, hopefully PrivatAir will be running the flight for you too. If you can EVER book a flight that is run by PrivatAir, do it. You will be happy with the experience and arrive at your destination much more relaxed than if you fly cattle car or even business class on a larger plane.
