We had been talking with Natalie and had planned to come out and explore the area and look at homes prior to the move. Then COVID hit. Our jobs did not allow us to travel at all. So we ended up having to buy our home, in an unfamiliar area, sight unseen, from across the country. It could have gone horribly; but Natalie and Curt made the process amazing! We knew nothing about the area so we were extremely dependent on them and Natalie was spot on with her recommendations of areas based on our wants and needs. Natalie could not have found us a more perfect area and more perfect house. They even had food for us and our toddler when we arrived knowing that we had been driving all day. We are so thankful for them, will without a doubt use them again, and will recommend them to everyone we know!

Unprofessional, vindictive, and dishonest…read more When we spoke to Shannon she said she was the best realtor for us because of her knowledge of the home and community. However, when Shannon provided the description of our home for the listing it was not even accurate. It was clearly not even written for our home. I ended up providing Shannan the description to use in our listing because she said she couldn't remember the features of our home after walking the home with me during the listing appointment. We hired Shannon to list our home because she said she lived in our neighborhood and could easily be available for showings. We agreed to not even put a lockbox on our home because Shannon would be here each time. However, Shannon went out of town the first weekend that our home was on the market and did not even tell us. We had showings scheduled and without Shannon or a lockbox, I was left to do showings myself. I found other WSR agents online and called each until finally someone answered and told me that Shannon was out of town at a soccer tournament. Shannon didn't even arrange for another agent to fill in while she was gone. When we confronted Shannon she denied ever agreeing to be onsite for showings, refused to apologize, told us that we expected too much and quit. We offered the listing to Chris but he declined and told us to find someone else. WSR immediately took down the listing and contacted agents scheduled for showings causing us to miss valuable opportunities to sell our home. She wanted 5% commission for posting the description that I wrote on MLS and having me do showings. The new realtor that we hired contacted Shannon for permission to use the photos on the listing and was told that WSR did not own the photos even though Shannon had told us that the photos were taken by an inhouse photographer. Chris then contacted the agent and stated that they would no longer respond to her and that she was not to contact them again. They refused to provide the contact information for the photographer. After the photos were altered and used, the photographer sent my new agent an email threatening her if she did not remove them. So much petty drama, false promises that no one needs when selling their home. This is not an agent/broker that you can trust. Too many options out there to deal with these people.

She helped me purchase my home in Arlington, VA and I am very grateful for everything she did. What I appreciate most about Philippa is her honesty. She is a direct person and tells you exactly what she thinks, even sometimes when it's not what you want to hear. I respect this a lot because buying a house is a big financial decision and I don't need someone who just agrees with me on everything. I need someone who understands the market and can give me real advice. She is great with the numbers and knowing property values. She knows Arlington real estate market very well and was able to explain why certain homes were priced correctly and others were not... I also look at real estate from investment perspective, so this was very important for me. She always had information prepared and never made me feel pressured to buy something. The entire process from searching for homes, negotiating the offer, inspection, and closing went very smoothly. She was always available for questions and made sure everything was handled properly. I felt very comfortable trusting her with my important purchase. Since buying my house I have already recommended Philippa to some friends and people I know. I don't give recommendations easily because my own reputation is also important to me. But with Philippa I know they will be in good hands. I highly recommend Philippa Main to anyone buying or selling a house in Arlington or Northern Virginia. She is a straight shooter, experienced and cares about doing the right thing for her clients. In the fast pace real estate market that is Northern Virginia, Paul was super understanding and patient. When other real estate agents pressured me to buy so they can get their commission and move on, Paul never made me choose and never made me feel like my relatively "small" budget was a waste of his time. I left my previous agent b/c he got tired of showing me houses after 3 meets b/c I needed to be "realistic" and settle for something less than stellar. I'm so glad I didn't listen. Paul never made me feel that way, whether it was 1 house or 5 houses, Paul trekked all the way from Haymarket to show them to me without complaining. I am so glad I met Paul b/c not only did he give me money back to help with closing costs, we found an amazing house in a great neighborhood and probably paid $30k below its real value. We definitely lucked out b/c there were 23 other offers and with Paul's help, I was the highest bid. I could not sing higher praises for Paul and I have a feeling I'll be using him again in the future. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!
