The building is big and easy to spot, conveniently located off Exit 10 from Route 287. The parking lot is huge. Signs in the building lobby were easy to follow and I quickly found the dermatologist office on the second floor. The staff at the front desk greeted me pleasantly and efficiently entered my information into the computer. I was brought into an exam room right at my appointment time, no waiting! I liked both of the doctors who did my exam today, Dr. Wassef and Dr. Milgraum. They were both knowledgeable, warm, and had a good sense of humor, and listened to all of my questions. I felt very comfortable with both of them and plan to remain a patient here. This facility is bright and clean, and looks like it was recently renovated. It was an inviting space to be in. They accept my insurance so I only had to pay $15 on the way out.

Not only was she unable to give me the results that are expected from injecting a nodule pimple with a cortisone shot (the whole point in paying for the shot is to see flattening within 48 hours), but even worse - her technique was so shockingly poor that it caused severe fat atrophy in the entire area on my face. This has left an EXTREMELY noticeable dent in my face for several months that I now had to visit two separate med spas for consultations and ultimately had to pay $900 for a syringe of filler to see a slight resolution in the damage she caused. When I initially reached out to Dr. Niu about my concern of this divot due to fat atrophy in April 2025, she was extremely dismissive and took no accountability for the negative side-effect of her work. She mentioned that she had already provided me a refund (which was false because she had only given me a PARTIAL refund) and did not offer to fix the problem that she had created. The partial refund she gave me did not even begin to cover the amount of money I had to spend to fix this. I have pictures of the damage she caused as well as my text messages with her that show how unprofessional, condescending, and dismissive she was throughout the experience. Obviously this was distressing and disheartening for me as a patient. She is not a trustworthy or skilled practitioner and a simple conversation with her will prove that she's not confident speaking to a lot of the procedures she offers. I regret going against my intuition and trusting her anyway. She deletes her bad reviews and the one or two bad reviews that I have seen on here, she has replied to in an immature and dismissive manner that would not be expected from a true professional doctor. I am reporting her to the New Jersey Medical Licensing Board because this is absolutely unacceptable and I don't want other women to go through what I did. The receptionists were nice and starting off seemed like it would be a pleasant experience. The appearance was cleaner than before. When the nurse practitioner came in (S.P.) she didn't seem interested in anything I had to say, only checking off boxes. Whether or not it was true, she felt like she was... rushing. I didn't feel like a patient, just some chore to finish and get over with quickly. She seemed distracted and disinterested in understanding my situation. Maybe because I went before their lunch break. I was rushed out the door before I even had a chance to fully discuss both the problem and the prescription. There is a big sign that says something like "Please limit your visit to 1-2 issues, if you have more issues, schedule another appointment." Which tells you a lot about the type of service they would prefer to provide to you. The most important problem was the prescription they gave me, which was sub-par, compared to when Dr. Urman was there. They had my old prescription in the system, but instead of renewing the old one, they changed it to something way less than before. The prescription was worse in both quantity (6/month vs. normally 30/month), and duration (6 months vs. normally 2 years). If your issue is finding medicine for hair loss, I recommend looking elsewhere. Not sure if this is true, but feels like they made the duration to be 6 months so you keep coming back. Perhaps the other branches are better than this one, but definitely can't recommend the one at Somerset.

During one of my sessions, I was severely burned in a specific area, which was very painful. The injury made me lose trust in the amount of safety I had during treatments. I am unsure still why it occurred because I was told that the puss open wound, was due to a hair that was ingrown and became infected... which I quickly learned was not what was going on. In addition, I felt uncomfortable with the staffing of technicians situation. While many other females worked there, there was only one laser technician available, and he was male. He performs Brazilian laser hair removal on female clients, but when I checked the website after a few treatments and curiosity, did not offer the same service to male clients, which in hindsight sight felt unprofessional and inappropriate to me being that if a female wants a Brazilian, she has no choice but to have a male technician. An hour before my appointments, I applied numbing cream on my bikini line and my entire Brazilian area with plastic wrap over the areas. At the beginning of my appointment, he wiped my numbing cream off from my Brazilian area very invasively without even asking if I was okay with that or giving me the option if I could wipe it myself before the lasering. The reason could be so he removes all of the product off completely before lasering, but with ONLY a male tech available and as a female patient who is basically blindfolded being touched in that vulnerable way, I should have 100% been given more options for my comfort. I was asked to remove my bra while wearing a medical gown that opens in the front. The laser treatment was only for my underarms, and the area was fully accessible through the sides/sleeves of the gown. There was no medical reason for me to remove my bra. As a result, my chest was exposed, which made me feel very uncomfortable and vulnerable. This situation felt completely unnecessary, and it could have been easily avoided. Between the physical injury and the discomfort surrounding the treatment environment, I chose not to return again. I would strongly encourage others considering this spa to think about your comfortability levels when getting vulnerable areas lasered by a male technician, to ask detailed questions about safety protocols, and how client comfort is prioritized before making an appointment.

The nursing and office staff are also professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I have been to many dermatologists and found them perfunctory and less than personable. My experiences with Dr. Cerbone have been the exact opposite. I have had serious dermatological issues and am so grateful to have received the excellent care I have with Dr. Cerbone's practice. He remains current in his profession, is prudent in his recommendations, but not without creativity and patient lifestyle considerations in his care plans. It is unfortunate this other reviewer had the experience noted. I hope she gives the practice another shot. I travel more than 20 miles to see Dr. Cerbone and would happily make it 50 if he were to move his office.
