I have been to this office a few times and slowly, I'm noticing the service is sliding downhill. I won't be going back. I never write reviews, but this time, I feel it is necessary. This review is mostly for the Clark office. The staff is rude. Period. They have a habit of ignoring you when you're standing right in front of them. There are about 6 women sitting in that front office and nobody seems to ever actually be working... And forget answering the phones when you call! I called once about 1 hour prior to my appointment to ask if I could come in a little earlier, if they had any cancellations. They said no, and I showed up at my appointment time. I proceed to the desk to sign in only to find out my appointment had been cancelled! I told them I hadn't cancelled and I was actually about 10 mins early for the appointment. They said they would ask the doctor if she had time to see me. Someone came back after "asking" and told me she didn't have time! I find it hard to believe the appointment had been cancelled and rebooked all in the space of about 40 mins... I was angry, but I chalked it up to a mistake. I was only there for test results and was promised that a nurse would call me back with the results. No one ever called. The doctors act like they have other places to be when they're in the room with you. You wait for around 30 mins in the waiting room for your appointment and then get to the office, wait another 10 mins, and then the doctor spends maybe 5 mins in the office with you! I've seen about 3 different people there for the same issue. They've all prescribed something different. None of them working... You leave the office feeling like you've been on a rollercoaster the way they spit information at you, tell you to make another appointment and then rush out the room. When you leave the exam room, no one has ever made eye contact with me. Or spoken to me on the way out. Again, there's a bay of nurses/staff just sitting there... I had to make an emergency appointment and the only opening was at the Teaneck office. I drove an HOUR to get there and I was DISGUSTED by the office! It was absolutely FILTHY! The floor was stained and the carpet was torn. The walls were stained, the paint peeling in places. The ceiling had water stains and the dust was just ridiculous. The office is located in the basement of what looks like a really shabby office building. You can tell the landlord simply doesn't care and I'm sure that has to do with the area the office is in and the clientele they are serving (mostly black and brown folks in this area as compared with the office in Clark which is much cleaner!) And finally, the cherry on top! THE BILLING! I have no idea how this office works when it comes to billing and finances...sometimes I pay a co-pay, sometimes I don't...again...it depends on who's at the front desk and feels like working. I received an email notice that I had a bill that I could view online. The notification came on a Monday. I added it to my list of bills and figured I would get to it on the weekend. During the week I received about 4 phone calls and 3 more emails alerting me that I had a bill. FOR $100! You'd think they were trying to collect millions! This office is a scam. The staff sucks. The doctors lack bedside manner. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this practice. Go somewhere else! It's simply not worth the headache. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Doctoroff for a few years now. He is very patient and informative. I always leave feeling educated and happy with my visits. I also see Karina, one of the aesthetician's regularly. She is patient and truly wants to help each patients individual needs. She takes the time to listen to you and help figure out which products will work best with your skin type and I owe my glowing skin to her! -First experience with dermatology since I was a child. While it's hard to get a smile out of anyone in reception, the medical staff is just incredible. The PA John is amazing. Everything was explained technically but in a comforting, understandable way. They were able to make an experience that can ordinarily be intimidating or scary very natural and fun. read more

I'm terrified of doctors, needles, and everything. I am the worst patient of all time. But all of the doctors and physicians assistants including Dr. Doctoroff have been extremely knowledgable, friendly and comforting for every appointment. They are very accommodating when it comes to making appointments and managed to squeeze me in when I needed it most. I can't say enough about the positive qualities of this place. In the past I have had terrible experiences with dermatologists. I had been putting off seeing one for close to 6 months for raised rash on my ankle. A friend highly recommended Metropolitan Dermatology so I broke down and made an appointment. I had an appointment set within a week of calling, 1st star! Every other office I had been to it took months to get in seeing either a doctor or a NP. When I arrived the office seemed busy but I waited for less than 15 minutes to get into a room, 2nd star! It felt as if the door closed then immediately opened with Inga, the nurse practitioner, warmly introducing herself and immediately addressing my concerns, 3rd star! She sat with me going over what it was and how to correct it and within moments she treated my ailment with a cortisone shot, 4th star! I was ready to walk out when she asked if there was anything else I was concerned with! A doctor who asked if there was anything else and didn't want to immediately push me out to attend to another patient?! Was this real life?! I said yes and she looked at a questionable mole and assured me it was fine, 5th star! I have never felt more welcomed and taken care of by a dermatology office before. She asked me to come back for a follow up to assure my ankle is healing correctly, 6th star if I could give one!! I am so impressed by the care this office provided and the friendliness of both the office staff and the doctors! It was very pleasant to not feel like just another patient to them like I had felt with other offices I have visited. I will now be bringing my son to plan care for his life long issues with eczema. I highly recommend Inga and Metropolitan Dermatology if you're into seeing doctors who treat you with care rather than just a number. read more

Only 1 cause cant give zero. NEVER GO HERE. Almost killed my father. Incompetent PA's Albina Kryotor. Did procedure on 94 year old on Friday, said if swelling redness pain fever call. Within 24 hours red, within 36 fever, and 48 redness down neck in eyes. Admitted to hospital for meds and he is 94. She kept digging and having him come back for unnecessary procedures. Called and left messages on her machine for emergency reasons. Didnt call back until after he was in hospital. Said had no cell service in NJ. Impossible and if away then you have someone cover your patients for you. Thinking of suing them. DO NOT GO HERE. This is the Staten Island location. Hope they get shut down. read more

Last summer, I had skin cancer on a large portion of my forehead. Dr. Doctoroff gave me two options and they both would not have been pretty, but I wanted it gone right away, so I chose to have it cut out which left a massive wound on my head. On Dr Doctoroffs recommendation, I went to Dr Morrow in West Orange to have the plastic surgery performed. Now a few months longer than a year, I am very happy with results, cancer gone and minimal scarring. It is unfortunate that I no longer live in NJ, I can only hope I find a dermatologist here in Texas, who can fill the shoes of Dr. Doctoroff. read more

I've been to this office multiple times, and have been disappointed each time. The bad experience begins at the receptionist and continues into the doctors office, however never met the doctor, only PA's. They try to push all of their expensive products (10 of them) on me and that was the only way to cure my acne. I want to give 0 star. Really bad for everything! Especially for acne extraction. The receptionist is very rude. The Aesthetician called Dana is very rude and bad and inpatient. I was very expecting the extraction procedure, and it works for me to heal my acne before. But she only spend around 5 mins to use a tool to extract. And she done, she even said you can see I popped out a lot for you! What ? I only see around 10 on the cotton pad! That is a lot? The doctor physician prescribed me a topical medication, after I used it, my skin got so irrated, red and peeling, I tried to call the office, no one answer me. Then I have to stop it. But next time, I visited their doctor again, he said I should take the medication after the moisturizer, what, you said before!!!!!!! The assistant prescribed a oral medication, but I never get it, I even checked with the pharmacy store, they said they didn't receive any prescription from this office. But the doctor said you should go another store, what, you said I should go that store before. If you change it, why you didn't let me know?........ I can't stand this dermatologist office.. It is a mass. I will have my acne even worse. I recommend you not going as well. I asked some of my friend who was there, she said this place is really bad. I was so regret that I didn't go through their suggestion. I would like to try because this office is quite close to my home, now I will go to another place even that is far away my home. read more

What a great experience, everyone should go to this office! I usually make my appointments with one of the PAs (they are all very knowledgable and thorough). I've also seen Dr. Doctoroff for my surgery and even though I was very nervous before the appointment, he made me feel at ease. The staff is great too, they always get me right in (something that rarely happens anywhere anymore) and help me with any questions I have. My whole family now goes to this office and I would recommend them to everyone! read more

Only two stars as they did do a good job of removing my husbands skin tags that had bothered him for years. What was lacking was the warning that the removal would be a lot more painful then one would expect it to be. My other issue is with the sneaky billing that occurred after the single visit he had to do the removal procedure. They told him the procedure would not be covered by insurance and asked him if he still wanted to go thru with it. They told him it would be $125. No problem, he said and the procedure was done. Now I have a bill for an extra $90 and after speaking to billing it was for what was left over from the 160$ office visit that they put thru insurance. But they told him it was $125, flat even, not informing him that there was an additional fee that they were putting thru insurance, and my husband is very particular about knowing what he is paying for. And why charge that exorbitant amount for an office visit when his visit was for the skin tag removal? Overall, their lack of providing pertinent information, whether it be the serious pain while getting the procedure or that they intended to use his insurance for whatever monies they could get out of it, has disappointed me enough as a consumer to write this review. I mean, come on, he already paid you $125 for maybe fourty minutes of actual medical assistanc, now we are at $215, for a service that was told would be $125. I would not recommend going there unless you like surprises. read more

I am a new patient, brought my referral from my PCP, and the office staff were HORRIBLE and RUDE! They told me they could not accept my referral and even after their billing person came up to tell them that I did not need an insurance referral, the blonde receptionist continued to be rude and clearly does not know her job. Even when confronted and asked to apologize, her response was typical of an immature person- turn the tables and tell the patient she was rude instead. Doesn't make me want to come back or feel comfortable receiving treatment here. read more
