I wouldn't say the staff is exceptionally friendly, a little bit of uppity (snooty). I returned 6 weeks later as suggested for my 2nd laser (lip) treatment. The first of 8 laser pulses was very painful, only to learn that wearing lip liner, lipstick or lip gloss can have a negative effect on the pulse. Needless to say he pain continued for the next 1-2 days and by the end of the 2nd day there were burns on my upper lip. When I returned on Day 3, they saw how badly my lip was burned, refunded me the $200 and I received communication from the owner/aesthetician apologizing, asking me to come back to get something for the burn and a complimentary treatment. Lauren mentioned that it was caused by the lip cosmetics I was wearing. So why is it not protocol that all lipwear be removed prior to laser treatment. I will not be returning to G Lab.

I explained to the doctor that I have been following all of the recommendations given to me, but that my pain has continued to significantly affect my ability to sleep and function. I mentioned that I had taken tramadol in order to sleep and asked if there were any alternative medications or treatment options that could help manage my pain. At no point was I asking for opioids. In fact, I clarified this multiple times. However, the doctor repeatedly responded by saying, "We don't prescribe opioids here," without acknowledging or addressing what I was actually asking. The interaction became increasingly dismissive and uncomfortable. The doctor abruptly stood up, left the room, handed my chart off to staff without speaking to me further, and walked away while I was still trying to understand the plan moving forward. When I said "Thank you, doctor," the response I received was simply "hmmm" before he continued walking away. I fully respect medical boundaries and understand concerns regarding opioid prescriptions. However, I do not believe any patient should be made to feel judged, dismissed, or stigmatized simply for discussing ongoing pain and asking for help exploring alternatives. I came to this appointment looking for guidance and support regarding a painful condition that has been affecting my daily life for weeks. Instead, I left feeling unheard and humiliated.
