Pricing was great and they were FAST; car was in at 7am and done by 2pm (the last time I took my car in for interior detailing at a chain company, they took nearly 3 days!) I tried Kenilworth Car Wash at The Citgo station after getting a sensible estimate for deep cleaning detail, wash, and hand wax over the phone. Upon arriving Ms. Freda and the guys were so hospitable to my son and me. I was given clear instructions on what they needed removed from the car like car seats so the guys could get every nook and cranny. We waited in an air conditioned space where we could see the cars come along the conveyor belt for their wash. My son loved this part the most. We were even offered snacks and the TV remote control to comfortably wait for our car to be ready. I can't emphasize how nice it was to have good customer service at a car wash. Every time one of the employees came through the waiting area, my son and I were greeted with a smile. When the car was finished, we were given clear instructions on how to exit and what to do next. The wash was great. They got out stains that my kids made. Lol. The outside hand wax was good too. I'll definitely come back again.

But today I wasn't in the mood for that trek, so I checked Yelp and Google for something closer. That's how I landed on Smoke Detail Hand Car Wash - literally less than a 2-minute drive from home! It is a little tricky to find. There are a few car wash signs around, but none with the full business name, so it's easy to miss. It's also on the same lot as a mechanic shop, so the space is small, a bit tight to maneuver, and honestly, a little rugged. Don't expect seating - the only waiting area is a small spot near the cash register where you can stand. BUT... what they lack in space and polish, they absolutely make up for in service. The guys working on my car were super kind, answered all of my questions, and took their time. They did a phenomenal job cleaning both the inside and outside - and it was only $40! My only real suggestion: it would be helpful if they had a posted price list for each service. I shared what I wanted, and they told me the price, which worked out fine, but my usual place in Maryland has a clear price board that helps customers choose their service ahead of time, speeding everything up. All in all, if you want a thorough, affordable, and friendly hand wash right in the neighborhood, this spot is worth a visit.
