This was by far the best and easiest experience we had finding our new home in an entirely new area from Florida to Boston and we have not only Metro Realty to thank, but Rebecca Phillips especially! We had plenty of questions and worries finding a place close to my grad school, near transportation, that met our financial needs and had things like parking laundry availability etc. Especially as this was long distance with our preparation to move across states and with Covid-19 precautions they went the extra mile of providing virtual tours ! Rebecca patiently withstood back and forth emails with all these questions, confirmations, etc on the landlords behalf between multiple units we were looking at and ultimately worked with us on finalizing details for our new rented apartment. No background fees, sketchy practices or bombarding with pushy messages etc., I've experienced with other moves over the last 4-5 years and we much appreciated their professionalism throughout the entire process down to the key exchange. I don't go out of my way to leave reviews but my experience here was so bad I wanted to prevent anyone else from sharing the same experience. Extremely disappointed in the service I received from one of the agents at Metro Realty. I was interested in an apartment and reached out to get more info/view the apartment. Bill Hunt was beyond unprofessional. He sent me documents to sign and asked me to sign them at my earliest convince but then proceeded to continuously call/text/email (emailed 3 times, called 2 times, left a voicemail and texted me numerous times ALL within 12 hours) while I was at work to sign documents that I didn't get the chance to thoroughly read. As I mentioned previously, it has not even been 24 hours since I reached out to see the apartment. I even informed him that I wouldn't be able to sign or read the documents until after my shift. Yet, he proceeded to send a text making a joke out of the situation. Long story short, it's unnecessary for any agent to harass a potential client and it seems the agents here care more about the commission they get rather than helping you find the right apartment. read more

My recent college grad daughter needed an apartment in Brighton and we used Metro Realty - "Greater Boston area's boutique realtor." Having someone "represent" us in this transaction might be a good idea - we became Paul 's client. Paul showed us a couple of places and a decision was made. Wrote a check as a deposit and to cover the background check - this is when things went BAD. When I asked Paul if the deposit was refundable, he looked me in the eye and said "yes." Next comes COVID-19, you know, Boston shuts down and the new job my daughter was moving to Boston for is *paused.* With no income and no plan in mid-March to get Boston back to work, it's probably in everyone's best interest to cancel the lease three weeks BEFORE anyone moves in. So immediately we contact Paul at Greater Boston area's boutique realtor - we are his client and assume he will handle contacting the landlord. Nope, Paul instructs us "Essentially, you are dealing with the landlord now, since the lease has been signed and they have been paid the deposit payment."- weird! I thought Paul at Metro Realty, Greater Boston area's boutique realtor, was working on my behalf...I was wrong, he is working only for his behalf. In fact BEFORE we even contact the landlord he begins with a threatening tone to my daughter in his email "My manager indicated that we would have to take action against you if the fee is not paid. I don't want to see that happen, as it would most likely affect your credit score." He realizes this transaction may be dead. It is now clear that he stopped representing us, while hiding behind his " manager." Paul wants his money for this deal that may not close. Fast foward, landlord does the right thing, cancels the contract - nobody wants a tenant that has no income moving into their building. Landlord agrees to return the deposit - done - landlord wanted nothing in return. After weeks of waiting for the deposit return, we start to ask questions...we learned that despite Paul telling us "they have been paid the deposit payment," Metro Realty ,Greater Boston area's boutique realtor, never sent the deposit to the landlord and the deposit that I was told was refundable is now the commission on the transaction that was never closed. You see, Paul at Metro Realty, Greater Boston area's boutique realtor, was less than honest when he said to me that the deposit was refundable because he had my daughter sign a "Fee Disclosure" that states the fee is owed "if you decide to submit an application." WHAT ? Did Paul lie to me when I asked if the deposit was refundable? I feel lied to... Imagine a world where a car salesman gets his commission for just going out on a test drive or a Realtor gets their commission without the house sale closing - well welcome to Metro Realty , Greater Boston area's boutique realtor, that will look you in the eye and tell you information that contradicts their contracts. We had an excellent experience with Samantha Abreu at Metro Realty. We were interested in purchasing a property in Boston near Northeastern with some specific asks and Sam delivered on point without exception. We went for a visit mid-April and were constantly disappointed with the agents we interacted with - no follow up, cancelled appointments (even tho we were only there for a short time as we are based in CA), and incomplete interactions. I first contacted Margret at Metro Realty one month before my boyfriend and I would be flying to Boston to look at apartments. At first Margret seemed to be on the ball. We had several phone and email conversations, where she outlined out needs. I made clear we only had four days in Boston to find an apartment and sign the lease before flying to California. Our only requirements were a dog friendly apartment in the price range of $1250-$1350. After setting an appointment, she asked if she was the only broker we would be working with, I told her we would not be working with other brokers or setting up appointments with anyone else. Three days before our flight to Boston, she emailed asking if we were still looking for an apartment and included one apartment listing that was out of our price range that did not accept dogs. We could have worked out the higher rent, but to get 0/2 of our requirements was really frustrating. When we confronted about the disappointing email, she did not even apologize! She said that she quickly skimmed through her listings last minute just so she could email us something. She said if we were still interested, she could show us around some areas in Boston but no actual apartments. We told her we only wanted to meet if she could show us some actual apartments that were available. She said she had some other listings, but she would need to reschedule our appointment . We decided to give her another shot and rescheduled. If her previous lack of professionalism wasn't enough, she missed out appointment! She called later to apologize, and said she forgot. I know it must be difficult to be a broker in Boston, but made it clear she wasn't interested in our money so we took it elsewhere. Thankfully, I contacted Gateway Realty after Margaret's disappointing email before our flight to Boston. At Gateway, Patrick showed us four perfect apartments. He was professional, easy to work with, and incredibly helpful. Finding a apartment in Boston will never be a stress free experience, but Patrick did an amazing job for us. If we ever need an apartment in the city again, we will be going with Patrick at Gateway. read more

Adam Mundt at Metro charged me $500 for an "application fee" while he did little work. He did not find a tenant, and did not create any new lease materials. This is unethical behavior, and the worst I've seen from Boston's many rental brokers. I've dealt with Metro in three transactions over the past five years, and my experience has been terrible. The most recent interaction upset me significantly. After getting a transfer from work and learning I needed to leave Boston, I quickly found a tenant willing to assume the lease, and pay the same rent. My landlord granted permission for a new tenant to takeover, pending Metro's application process (credit check, references, etc.). I called Adam Mundt at Metro Realty, and explained the situation. He informed me that he would charge $500 for the process, even though he had played no role in finding the tenant. He refused to explain the logic behind his charge, saying vaguely that it was for "legal stuff to make a perfect lease." Note, the lease remained unchanged. This is unethical and dishonest. I'm glad to pay a fair fee for work well done, but in this case Metro/Adam are performing no such work, and expending minimal cost and time. His actions speak to his character and that of his employer. read more

My roommates and I were initially pleased with Metro Realty. If you're like most renters in Boston, you've met your fair share of sketchy realtors. We were relieved to find a nice realtor and a great apartment in a great neighborhood, HOWEVER... We had one incident that ruined our initial impression forever. Someone broke into our apartment, which was within the building owned by Metro Realty. Before the break-in, Metro Realty frequently sent guys to check out appliances, etc. in the apartment, unannounced. My roommates and I found this annoying, but decided to live with it given our positive experiences with Metro and our apartment. However, after the break-in incident, we decided to confront Metro Realty about any unannounced visits. Yikes, don't ever confront Metro Realty. We received a nasty email from the owner, asking for our keys to the gym (apparently we had lost our gym membership for the confrontation). The owner also claimed to have friends in the Brookline PD, and said the earlier break-in to our apartment was our fault. He also told us we were no longer welcome to live there when our lease was up. MAJOR YIKES. So tread softly and dont' complain, or else! read more

In my first apartment search, I viewed an apartment that was listed by an agent at Metro Realty. She was friendly, helpful, etc, and while she did exaggerate the demand of the apartment, she was the favorite of the realtors we met with during the first search. She is the reason Metro gets three stars instead of two. When I went for my second search, this realtor no longer worked there. I made an appointment with another girl, who was still a student, to look at apartments. I deliberately made the appointment on a Wednesday afternoon, because that was the only afternoon my work schedule allowed at the time. I told this agent my price range, and like most realtors, she tried to convince me that nothing was available in that price range (even though I had done considerable research to identify a proper price range.) However, she was willing to show me the two or three apartments she had in that price range. So my boyfriend takes time out of his busy schedule to come with me, and we head over to Metro Realty that Wednesday. Guess who isn't there??? My agent! Someone called her for me, and she was absolutely insistent that I hadn't scheduled a Wednesday appointment and that I had scheduled a Thursday appointment. Now I wouldn't have scheduled a Thursday appointment, since I worked late on Thursdays. Obviously, she had made a mistake. Rather than reschedule, we just left. I was so angry, and I really didn't want to be dealing with people who can't properly schedule appointments. read more

Very shady rental department. I had a terrible experience with them last year, and although their inventory is great, I would never recommend them to anyone. If you do decide their listing are worth the risk of dealing with them, then be sure to get everything clearly in writing BEFORE you hand over any deposits. In the past, I've been thrilled with Metro. But this time, I've got to agree with several other reviewers--Jon was 'assigned' to my case. He was neither proactive nor personable. After not hearing from him for a week, I called the office, speaking to another agent. Guess who called me back? Jon. I was back to square one. Finally, I just gave up on working with them. Ah, metro realty. I was going to give 5 stars because they are soooo much better than the other realtors, but there are enough small caveats that dropped them down a star. I have used metro several times now - third apartment rental (over the course of 9 years, I actually don't move too often), and a fourth time using them when I was thinking about condos. That part didn't go too well, mostly because I couldn't afford a condo and the realtor tried talking me into asking my parents for money. I'll decide when to hit my parents up, thanks. They are still smarting from paying my college tuition. Anyway, this time around I had Ashley, who found me a very nice apartment, nicer than my current place and not much more expensive. Here's the breakdown: Pros: 1. Metro has many exclusive properties, and most of them are nicer than what you will see through the other realtors. 2. For the most part, they do stick to the price range you give them, which is something very few realtors will do. 3. They are attentive to what you want in a place and pay attention to details. Cons: 1. Just like any other salesman, you definitely get less attention after you sign the lease. For some reason I couldn't get my copy of the signed lease until 8/1, the first day I had the apartment. This has never happened before. Metro told me I had the apartment, but what if something goes wrong and on 8/1 I learn the landlord changed their mind and decided not to sign? Unlikely, but a scary thought. Fortunately, that didn't happen. 2. Not sure I can officially fault Metro for this, but there are clearly some fake reviews trying to make one of the realtors, "Jon" look good. 3. Full month fees. Many places now have half or no fee. This is probably why their rentals are such nice places, but it's still hard to swallow. Also, keep in mind Metro no longer has a Cambridge office! I wish they did, it would have been nice to see what they had on the other side of the river. read more

Metro Realty was named "Best of Boston" for one reason; they simply are the best realty company in Boston. You don't need to take my word for it, though. Simply browse through the available apartment listings in the Boston area and see which realty company seems to magically pop up next to the nicest, most unique and most reasonably priced listings. 99.999 times out of 100, it is Metro Realty. But my admiration for Metro doesn't stop merely at the listing phase. Their personal, one-on-one service is also first class. My Agent, Cari, responded to my email inquiry within minutes on a FRIDAY evening. The next day, I saw the apartment and it took me about all of 15 seconds to decide it was the only place I wanted to live. The Agents at Metro (especially, Cari and Adam J., too) pulled out all of the stops and made it happen for me. Metro has built an excellent reputation for themselves and, as such, they can be (and are) selective in the properties they chose to show and list. Don't bother with dealing with any other realtors (unless you enjoy seeing ridiculously crummy and overpriced properties). Start with Metro and surround yourself with class. read more

While I received great service from Metro as a customer, I am not being treated with the same respect as the person renting out the apartment. The agents often give less than an hour notice and still come in without permission. I understand that 24-hour notice isn't feasible for renting apartments, but I'm not even asking for that. I'm just asking that they get a verbal ok from me to enter. I'm studying for the bar exam, and most of my time is spent studying at home. They don't seem to understand that I am basically working from home. Yesterday, I awoke to an agent walking in on me. When I yelled at her, her response was that she left a voicemail (to which I didn't respond, because she had only left it an hour before, and I WAS ASLEEP). Sorry, but you do not walk into someone's apartment without permission. There was a reason I didn't answer your message... As I write this review, another agent called. When I said he couldn't come today, he didn't listen to what I was saying, and tried to schedule an appointment for the times I was unavailable. I had to tell him four times that I was telling him those times did NOT work. A note to all prospective customers out there: if you need to see things last minute, please be considerate and make sure your agent gets permission from the current tenant. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I'm averaging out the 5 star service I got as a future tenant (I worked with Jon...I'm not sure if he's still there) and the 0 star service I'm getting as someone moving out. My boyfriend and I were in a bit of a rush to find a new apartment together in Coolidge Corner, and Cari was the first agent we ever worked with (and the last, as we finally signed for an apartment!). She always made herself available, and always had places for us to see. Cari was also extremely patient and understanding with us, which we both really appreciated. Especially after having worked with some less-than-stellar agents from other companies. Metro is a great company all around. They have a lot of exclusive properties, which is HUGE in Coolidge Corner. Pretty much every time we went in, there were customers there, and often times people were signing leases. Metro should definitely be your first stop if you're going to look for an apartment in the area. read more

Thanks Sue! The specifics: Early April, 2012 Lady Friend: All right bucko, no way around this time. You're buying me a house this year, whether you like it or not! Me: Agreed, Long Suffering Lady Friend. The most auspicious moment is at hand! Our nest egg is well padded, rates are low, house prices are lower, and appealing houses keep popping up and up in our various search resources. Let's do this thing! *** And do we did! But not without some help, a lot of help. Two isn't enough to get the job done, not with how byzantine and bewildering the home buying process turns out to be at ground level, once the online searching and open houses are done and you need to get down to brass tacks. Because once you find the place, once you settle on maybe sort of kind of wanting to put an offer in, that's when you realize the every tightening limitations of your own knowledge, and when you realize that it's not going to get the job done, and not only do you not know what you are really looking at or for, but don't even know how to format the question of what you are looking at or for, let alone what further steps to take along the long chain of Escher-like steps that seem to follow no real rhyme or reason. And that's when you call in the pros. We solicited the aid of Sue Carroll, based on a personal recommendation, in early May, and by the end of the month we had settled on a house, negotiated down the asking price of same house, and signed the purchase and sale. Sue accompanied us to various far flung individual showings of properties, and pointed out pros and cons we would otherwise probably have missed. The devil is in the details, and Sue was expert as ferreting these devils out. Once we settled on a relatively devil free house, she was quick on the draw in putting our offer (we had to act fast), negotiating the final price, and getting all the paper work done in what I assume to be record time. Onward we go, and she helped us line up the inspection posthaste, and managed to make parting with the single largest (and the second largest) check I've ever written seem like the best idea we've ever had. During the whole hurry up and wait period between the purchase and sale and closing she fielded any and all questions we had, no matter how piddling or paranoid they turned out to be. Even postclosing now, when the dust has theoretically settled and the sale is finis, she's still working to help us get all the workers we need to spruce up the house before we move in. So, the short of all this, after you've waded through the long just above, is that I, we - the Long Suffering Lady Friend (who has given me permission to act as her spokesperson, at least in this one instance) and I - cannot recommend Metro, and Sue Carroll, highly enough. read more

Jessica, aware of our narrow parameters, contacted us the day the first unit became available and had us on a walkthrough within three hours of that availability. We signed on the spot. Metro was the exclusive realtor for our target building (so the default option in our case); however, they did deliver a unit in our preferred building in a prompt/efficient manner and were professional/respectful throughout the process. read more

This review is about two months overdue! We moved to Brookline, MA from Richmond, VA in July, and in the months before our move we were unable to make a trip up here to look for an apartment. I actually found Metro Realty Corp through Yelp, and I submitted a form on their website. Cindy Katz quickly responded to my inquiry, and I ended up working with her on finding a rental ever since. I expected that looking for an apartment without physically being in the area would be a nightmare because 1) You can only tell so much from pictures 2) I was relying on a "stranger" to understand my family's needs regarding space and location 3) We were looking during a popular move-in time when properties go very quickly, hence putting the pressure on to act quickly. HOWEVER, Cindy quickly made all of those fears go away. I didn't feel like I was working with a stranger once we had exchanged a few emails. We FaceTimed several apartments during our search before finding the perfect one for us. She was also readily available to answer all of my questions, and I had A LOT! She never made me feel like I was bothering her. In fact, she did a great job not only answering all of my questions, but also answering other questions before I even asked them! She is friendly and professional, and really seems to enjoy her job. When we finally arrived to Brookline on our move-in date, I met Cindy in person for the first time so that she could give us our move-in packet, and it felt like I had known her forever. My girlfriend and I just moved across the US to Boston. We need to find a place to stay by August 1 when her new job started. Little did we know that Boston works around a Sep 1 lease schedule so if you want a place before Sep 1 you're out of luck. We called, emailed, and checked out over a dozen places in Boston and Cambridge before we found a listing by Metro Realty. Ultimately, that listing was already rented, but our associate Ashley Reader found us a few other listings. Sight unseen we ventured to Brookline to check them out and they were all some of the best listings we'd seen in a month. Our leap of faith was rewarded by a great realtor who found a great apartment that we just moved into. Tip: A lot of landlords in the area only broker through them, so you definitely want to call and check their listings. read more

I believe that at this point in time, moving in Boston twice, I have worked with basically every realty company in the metro. There have been some realtors I really liked working with, and a large percentage were a bloody nightmare. And it doesn't help that what counts for a rentable apartment in this town can be a huge range of horrors. Heidi at Metro was nice, calm, professional, and showed me exactly what I was looking for (and little else). There was no hard sell, and a lot of communication. Not to mention, the office looked and acted professional as a whole. I really have no complaints and definitely plan to use her again when the time comes. I recently rented an apartment through Metro Realty. The price was originally 1700, which included a parking space. When we passed on the parking space, they lowered the rent to 1600. Midway through the application process, which took an unreasonably long time, I asked to re-include the parking space at the original price. I was told to wait until after moving in and arrange with the landlord to re-include the parking space. When I asked, I was assured that the price would be 100 a month for the parking space. I just called the landlord, and the price is 150 a month. The real estate agent was clearly just avoiding the hassle of changing the application, at the expense of my best interests. Other complaints: It took over a month to get the lease, and we were asked for a lot of extra forms at the last minute. Our agent was hard to get in touch with and confused our information with other customers. I ended up with a decent apartment, but I'm still not pleased with the service. read more

I really like Metro Realty. We came to Boston last year looking for an apartment and we only had a few days to find it because we had to go back to our country to wait for our visa. It was already July (people who live in Boston know how difficult it is to find a good apartment this late..) and we were still waiting for our visa to be approved, but they managed to help us in every possible way. It was really easy and smooth. They managed to leave the place really clean... We even bought a vacuum cleaner the day we arrived because we thought the carpet would be in poor conditions, but it was great! The apartment was moving in ready! I was really pleased! read more

DECEPTION, HARASSMENT AND BULLYING BY ADAM OF METRO REALTY! Do not be pooled by internet ratings, especially for Metro Realty. As a landlord, I was deceived, harassed and bullied by vice president Adam. Initially I gave two listings to rent to this office and was going to give the third one if I was satisfied with them. He had a new guy Nick to fill a lease form apparently for the first time in his life. I guided Nick through painstakingly, and got tired of spending hours correcting him who does not understand without repetition. I told him that it was NOT my job to train him and he had to get help within his office. Adam yet did not intervene but he caused more troubles. Adam listed my third property without my consent by himself instead of experienced broker. I found out from other broker who was mad at me after finding out it was already listed by Adam. I demanded Adam to take it down instantly. However, Adam deceived me through Nick saying that there was an application for the apartment . So I agreed to proceed and received one month, non-refundable deposit. Adam, after 5 month later, demanded me to return the non refundable deposit using all kind of lame excuses that I owe the return of the deposit despite the clause in the receipt, ''" if we(tenants) decide to withdraw out application or fail to proceed for any reason hereafter we will forfeit one month's rent". I lost two months rent and endless trouble and had to lower the rent as we ran into off season and had to offer extended lease instead of shorter term, thereby my loss became over 8K. I am planning to sue them. It was the first and the last time I deal with these low lives. Shame on Adam and Nick and Metro Realty who non-stop harassed and bullied me verbally and via email with no rational for weeks. read more

My fiance and I have lived in the same tiny apartment for 6 years and are ready for a change and a nicer place. As many do, we started our apartment search on Craigslist and contacted rental agents based on listings we liked. Well, we found a lot of apartments that looked nice, but none of the agents we worked with seemed to know what they were doing; even worse, more often than not the apartments listed on Craigslist were not actual apartments for rent--the agents had shadily listed them to draw people in. They would then try to "bait and switch" and show icky apartments instead. Not ok! On a whim, my fiance walked into the Metro Realty office without an appointment and asked some questions. The agent we worked with, Richard Mulherin, gave my fiance an overview of apartments that matched our criteria then and there, and made (and kept--on time!) an appointment with us for the following week. On our first trip out to view apartments, we found the place we had been looking for with the best management company (who only lists with Metro, by the way). When we went in to sign the lease, Richard and Adam (the rental manager) were willing to answer all of our questions and made us feel completely at ease. We are more than thrilled with the service we have received and we would wholeheartedly recommend Metro to all of our friends, colleagues, family...and to all of you yelpers. A little bonus is that they give you a gift certificate to Coolidge Corner Clubhouse when you sign the lease. Not a huge deal, but a nice touch. The bottom line is this: if I had to move again in the Boston area, I would definitely go to Metro first. read more

I had a very positive experience with the realtor I worked with at Metro, Kara Paladino. I was in search of a studio/1 bedroom in Brookline and she was very helpful-- ultimately I found an amazing apartment, in a great location within my price range! Kara gave me good advice in terms of both my apartment search and how she could help me (e.g. "The more specific you can be about what you're looking for and where, the better.") She would answer emails at all hours of the day which was helpful, was realistic about my options (although I wish there were more options to choose from, I don't think that is a reflection on Kara or Metro, I think it is a reflection on the market and my specifications), and, although awkward, was able to let me in to see an apartment at the last minute. The most important thing I liked about Kara is that she wasn't pushy or saleswoman-y. I didn't feel any pressure at all to make a decision. Instead, I was encouraged to make a decision that felt intuitive and was right for me. Kara wasn't able to accommodate the time I requested for the lease signing, but she has a busy schedule just like we all do. Overall, I had a positive experience with Metro and would definitely recommend them to anyone who knows what they want and responsible when it comes to paperwork and payments. read more

Moving to a new city is a big deal, but if you want to make the apartment search as smooth and seamless as possible, call Metro and ask to speak with BRIAN KITCHENS. Brian is a guy who gets it - be upfront, honest, and helpful, and you get business referred to you. I was referred to Brian by somebody else who had a great experience with him, and now I'm more than enthusiastic to recommend him to all of you. He takes his job seriously and is more than just a real estate broker to match renters up with apartments - he really is an advisor in the whole process. I was happy to pay the real estate fee to Brian's firm after we found a place. We toured some apartments, Brian listened to my concerns and goals for where I want to live and came up with great suggestions. He didn't waste time showing me places that he knew I would not like. In addition, two months AFTER I signed the lease and paid the brokerage fee when I had a minor dispute with my landlord about what was to be fixed upon my move-in date, Brian spent half an hour on the phone talking about it with me and clarifying the situation with them. No shady real estate broker would bother to spend that time after they had gotten paid but to Brian, he takes it all personally to ensure that the services he provides are top of the line. It's reassuring to know that whenever I need an apartment, "I got a guy", and his name is BRIAN KITCHENS. I didn't even belong to Yelp but felt so strongly about how great my experience was with him that I signed up just to write this review. That should tell you all you need to know. read more

Moving/renting season is upon us, so I just wanted to give a shout-out to the wonderful realtors that helped me and my roommates find the absolute most perfect (and cheap!) apartment. Huge, lots of natural light, near Coolidge corner, 2 bath, hardwood floors, awesome landlord, parking... Sure, you have to pay a fee, but as someone who was so totally anti-fee, it was definitely worth it. We got exactly what we wanted, for less than what we gave as a max. The realtor was incredibly friendly and helpful to boot- even coming to our aid when we had a minor crisis when someone had to back out of signing for the apt. Definitely pay them a visit-- even if it's only to see what's out there. read more

I had a good experience with Metro Realty. The realtor I dealt with was Adam Umina was a really relaxed guy and enthusiastic about the apartments. He was pretty fair about places and tried to show me places that best matched my criteria I told him in advanced. He also even took me on when I called the day before and said I'd be in the neighborhood and would appreciate a showing. That's extremely short notice and I wholeheartedly appreciate that he still treated me like a customer should. He also made sure I knew that he was available on weekends till late if I needed to talk business. I took full advantage of that and I noticed he even took the time to take my call even though it sounded like he was very busy at home with his kids. I REALLY appreciated that. I hesitate at 5 stars only because of a few issues with communication. He promised to show me at least 3 places but only showed me two and when I asked for more, he didn't have any more for me. That might just have been the market availability but I felt it was a bit suspicious. Also, I sent in a deposit but ultimately went in another way and it took them a few weeks to resend the money back to me (though they did in full). I was a bit upset over that incident. That being said, I still would and have recommended them to friends and find them to be incredibly helpful. Also they are very useful if you are young and want to live around coolidge corner. Their office is smack dab in the middle of that area and they seem to have a lot of offerings from that area. In fact, when I will be looking for a place again in a few years, they will be the first I contact. read more

First time home buyer here. Adam and the team at Metro did a spectacular job helping me close on my new 1BR condo in Huron Village near Harvard Square. From the beginning, Adam explained all the ins and outs of the home buying process without ever being condescending in the slightest. I never felt like I asked a stupid question. He made himself available to talk late at night and on weekends which was great because I work 80 hours a week and it was difficult to find time during the regular work day to ask questions. Adam took me to numerous units and took initiative to find only ones that fit my criteria and budget. When I decided on a condo, he came up with a few clever ideas during the negotiation process. When things got tough, Adam was there as stress sponge to protect his client in any way he could. A fantastic realty experience with Metro Realty Corp. I feel that credit is due to Jessica Hein from Metro Realty Corp who was able to help us find the apartment of our dreams. I had originally worked with a real estate agent from another realty company that had found me an apartment in the past, but after being jerked around one too many times and a total lack of communication, I had enough. I was searching for apartments on Zillow and Hot Pads, but the majority of the good looking ones were bogus. On a whim I sent out an email about an apartment that looked amazing, and to my surprise, the very next morning I was contacted by Jessica asking if I had to time to meet with her and view the apartment. She showed me the exact apartment that I had contacted her about and even brought along another listing that might suit our needs as well. It was 50$ a month more, but included in-unit laundry which is well worth the extra amount. She even made sure that both of the listing were undergraduate friendly and had all the features that we had requested in an apartment; something the many other realtors we worked with couldn't do. On top of showing us excellent apartments in a timely manner, she was excellent with communication; getting back to us immediately and working to get us the answers to any questions that came up. Additionally, she was even able to set up a second showing of the apartment after we signed our lease. Definitely an A+, problem-free experience. Cari from Metro Realty gets 5 stars. Cari was very friendly, very helpful, and very responsive. She would keep us updated with everything available in our price range and area and once we found a place that we loved but had one minor qualm with, she helped us communicate with the management company, who had no problem immediately taking care of the issue. Before we met Cari, my girlfriend and I were having a miserable time looking for apartments for March. We felt like every realtor we met just wanted to get their hands inside our pockets in the quickest, dirtiest way possible. We experienced bait and switches, getting taken to areas we said we weren't interested in, and just all around rudeness. It was bad. Once we met Cari, we finally felt like we met an actual human and now 6 weeks after we have moved in, we are really happy in our apartment. Whatever you do, do NOT trust these people. Tons of college kids move to Boston looking for their first apartment, and I was one of those kids. Me and three other girls had signed a lease on a beautiful place in the heart of Coolidge Corner with Metro. Little did I know I had just signed myself to a year of hell. First, we start moving in and our realtor had given us the wrong set of keys leaving us outside all night with our stuff on the street. Shortly after that we find out we have a bed bug infestation. So we set up a time for the exterminator to come. If you don't know with bed bugs they bomb your place three times and each time you should have your stuff bagged up a week in advance. The landlord and realtor "forgot" to send me the email with all the instructions on how to get my room ready but sent it to my other roommates. Roommates whom let's just say weren't at all organized. So I find out the night before the guys come and I am not a last minute person. I am a working college student and I don't have time! I also want to have everything perfect for the exterminator so we don't have bed bugs again. The realtor apologizes and promises to email me next time. She never emailed me again. So the bed bug thing was absolutely crazy and then the landlord decides after all this that he wants to make repairs to our apartment. I wasn't opposed but there were construction guys with the keys to our place coming in and out as they pleased. No one gave us dates or times when they would come. They just came and did whatever. That's pretty scary for young women living on their own. I came out of the shower once just as a strange man came in. I asked politely if the realtor and landlord could email me before they let the men in. They said "of course!" they emailed me once I believe to warn me the guys were coming. Never emailed me again, they just let the strange men in again without any warning. Can't get any worse right? Wrong. I was having panic attacks weekly now staying at this place. I wanted out. So I looked for a sub letter but the landlord said he had to ok the person and that my other roommates had to as well. So basically this person had to be perfect or I couldn't get out. I could go on and on about all the other things Metro and the landlord did at 12 Greenway Ct. But I think you get the point. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I hope this helps at least one college student not have to go through what I went through. Which was being tricked, violated, and disrespected. read more
