I made a few calls earlier this morning to get prices for state inspections and emission tests. When I called here they told me it would cost $8 and they said there was no line. I came around 1 1/2 hours after the call and they pulled my car into the garage for service immediately. They said it would be about 30 minutes so I took a walk in the neighborhood and enjoyed the nice spring weather. I thought the man said it would be $8 for each test/inspection but no! It was $8 TOTAL and they even have a sign outside to advertise that deal too! I came back in 30 minutes and luckily I only needed an inspection so I actually only paid $3 today. I would recommend this place to everyone for these services because they are priced well and work very fast. I will be back in a few months for my $5 emissions test LOL read more

I have been a customer at Metro before it was Metro like the last 10 years or more and I have never ever been disappointed in their work and service! Omar is the nicest and most reliable service manager. The mechanics are the best and have always taken time to answer any questions or explain things when I ask. You will not be disappointed if you give them a try. It is hard these days to find a local service station that has this level of quality. Teresa L. read more

January 10, 2025, I needed an emissions inspection and, because of other commitments and the cold, I needed to wait instead of leaving it to be inspected during the day. Metro Motors and their staff did the inspection while I waited and got me on my way in short order. They are efficient, honest, and friendly. I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Great mechanical and customer service. Omar and his team are very flexible and I like their neighborhood location.

Metro Motor is my new go to service center! Omar and Elvis took great car of both my cars. They had no problem sourcing hard to find parts for my vintage car and performed top quality work at a great value. A very huge shoutout to Omar for his top tier customer service skills. He really knows how to make the customer feel valued and speaks to you in a very professional manner. I will absolutely be back for future service because of Elvis's skilled mechanical work and Omar's business management style. read more

I came here to get my car looked at to see if there was an issue. I chose this place based on previous reviews. These guys are awesome!! I wasn't sure where to park, so the guy took my keys and parked for me. They got my car checked out and fixed within an hour. They were extremely friendly and helpful. My wife and I barely escaped a ticket for an inspired inspection sticker. Life got in the way and we had totally forgotten. So when the scramble was on we did a walk up to Metro Motors. Our experience was top class start to finish. Even though I walked up a few minutes before the shop opened, I was greeted nicely and thoughtfully by Ephrem Then my man Rolando went to work. He immediately understood not only what I came in for but what I needed. He took the time to properly diagnose, gave me great advice and showed the highest level of integrity (not just trying to upsell me but also respecting all the rules he has to abide by). Rolando is amazing. This is the second time that he has educated and helped me be successful. Give him a raise and tell him to stop supporting Manchester United. read more

Chose Shell and Omar to do a pre-purchase inspection of a vehicle. Very thorough job, done quickly considering the short notice. A bit more than I wanted to pay, but worth it as I chose not to purchase the car based on their review. read more

I came to Metro Motor three times - once to replace tires and twice for an oil change. The tires cost me around $1350 and those were middle of the road tires. Both times I got an oil change it ended up costing me hundreds of dollars (I believe one was close to 1k) because I was told there were immediate repairs needed. Now, come to find out, at my last oil change they put my splash shield back wrong and all the bolts are rusted with the exception of one - where they used a ZIP TIE to secure it back on. Now, yet again, this next oil change is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to get those bolts off. I would not recommend Metro Motor. They took advantage of me and left my car worse than they found it. read more

This was recommended by my neighbors, after their excellent experiences. I brought my car by last month, stressed about getting a vehicle inspection and oil change. Omar went out of his way get an inspection done for me by their sister location, which I so appreciated. I took it back this month to have them investigate loose steering; not only did they do a wheel alignment, they also did not charge me for it. I appreciate having a local mechanic shop which has excellent and honest customer service, and I very much recommend them. read more

I went to Metro Motor this morning as a walk-in inspection customer. I was in and out in 25 minutes. The service was exceptional and the inspection quick. Jeremy and the staff at Metro Motor provided exceptional service. I highly recommend them and their services. read more

I meant to post this review a few months ago but this is hands down the best place to go in the DMV! Jeremy is the best and really cares for his customers. As a young female going to school across the country (away from my dad who fixes most things in my car), it was intimidating to find a place to take my car for oil changes/anything else I needed. But not here! I had nothing but good experiences and will absolutely go back when I return to the DMV. read more

I brought my car here last month for a number of issues. They not only got the issues addressed quickly, they let me keep my car there several days while I was out of town. I bring my vehicle here a lot because it's close to my house. They always turn it around quickly and keep you informed of status and projected cost. Very professional. read more

I had an issue that other places were giving me a hard time to fix and take me seriously. Metro Motor was great and handled my fix at a reasonable rate and time. Will definitely be going there again. read more

I am extremely upset about this. I went to Metro Motor because my friend has gone here for years. I had an emergency where my no oil pressure warning went on and gave an "engine off" alert, so I went to Metro Motor. They said they would take a look and let me know. When I went back to pick up my car, I was informed that they were unable to fix my car and that I should bring it to Volkswagen Dealership for them to take a look at. After being told that they could not do anything for me, they still charged me $140 which is ridiculous and appalling. There was no manager on site to speak with about the charge. I told my friend and because of this, neither of us will go back. I should not have been charged $140 for a diagnostic. It even says on my invoice "tech unable." I would not recommend this place to anyone. I feel swindled to say the least. read more

Thank you to Dana and the incredible team at Metro Motor North Henry Shell. I will sincerely always recommend this place to anyone I know. They helped me through a very stressful time with my car being un-drivable. A dealership quoted me for something I could not afford and Metro Motor North Henry Shell came to my rescue. Where the dealership gave me a huge price, 3 month time frame, and terrible communication - Dana and his crew did the complete opposite. They had my car up and running in 2 days and Dana kept me updated at every turn to ensure I fully understood what was going on with my car, his anticipated challenges, and hopeful timeline. Thank you all so much for your work on my car, you sincerely helped me in my time of need. read more

I love this place. I used to come here before the pandemic, but this was my first experience with the new team. I had a very bizarre issue with something that had fallen under the seat of my car and wiggled its way into a narrow area that was impossible to see or reach. Tomas stopped what he was doing at 3:30 pm on a Friday to take my seat off and run a camera into the area to assess the issue. My vehicle was ready to go by 5 pm. The price was fair and the customer service was amazing. I will always bring my car here. read more

I always get my oil checked here. My wait time has never been over an hour. They don't try to oversell me. If they catch something wrong with my car, they are upfront with what to expect. They were incredibly helpful at metro motor on Henry. Fantastic service! Orlando so fast and friendly. Here's my story: Called my regular repair center. Emergency. Front headlight out. Must work tonight. Sorry, yes you've been a customer for 1en years, but we're busy. Ok. Call Liberty. Orlando answers. Sure, come on in. Arrive. Orlando friendly as can be. Repaces lamp in two minutes. Two minutes??? Impossible. So, let's see. My regular repair shop has no time for me, but Orlando fixes in two minutes with big smile and half the cost I'd normally pay. Guess where I'm taking my business. Thank you, Orlando!! Wow!! read more

Cannot recommend these guys enough! I had an issue with my car's catalytic converter and they were able to diagnose and fix the issue, complete a state and emissions inspection and were able to complete everything well under the original quoted price. I also want to ensure you that these guys will go above and beyond for you and your car. Orlando drove my car to his house and back so that my car could pass emissions inspection following the converter replacement. Dude saved me time and money! What more could you ask for. My girlfriend and I will continue going here so long as we live in the area. Best repair place around for sure. read more

My car battery recently died at the most inconvenient time possible. I was desperate to get on the road, but my car wasn't able to jump start. I ran over to Liberty and asked if they might be able to help. Orlando grabbed his jumpstart pack and walked the 5 blocks back to my car. Worked on the first try and I was able to make my appointment on time. He refused to let me pay for anything and said it was his good deed for the day. Really impressed by the service and will definitely be using this as my go-to spot from now on. read more

Went to this Shell today by happenstance and felt like I had stepped back in time. Remember when people at gas stations helped you? And were nice and knowledgable? Rob was so great helping me with my low tires and Moe was exceptionally attentive to my tire details. I had a computer / tire issue that Rob explained to me as Moe fixed the problem. This place is great - I will go and get my oil changed there soon. Thank you so much Rob and Moe. read more

I had a great experience at Metro Motor. I asked several highly rated shops to provide estimates for an oil change. Metro North quoted me their price for most cars because they overlooked the model in my quote request, which is an honest mistake. However, the manager agreed to do the oil change for the next lowest quote I received, and they followed up with a text the next day to ask if everything was ok. read more

David is totally trustworthy and handles both of our MINI Coopers and the Mazda. The work is done well, the pricing is reasonable and the turnaround is quick. They can handle extended warranties also which is a great bonus I've had brakes done, tires and also some warranty work and happy every time! It's great to have a place that you can trust read more

Had a flat tire and they were very kind and quick to help! I would trust this place with my car again.

I took a used vehicle I was looking at to Metro Motor for a pre-purchase inspection. I was told they had ~250 point inspection and was charged ~$159 and they cleared it. Confident because I thought I had gotten the green light from professionals, and a manager Jeremy who assured me of the inspections quality, I purchased the vehicle that same week. Day one of driving I got a check engine light which, long story short, will be an expensive repair. Additionally, braking at really high speeds shakes the car at times. This makes me wonder if they even performed the damn inspection or if they're just incompetent and I can't tell which is worse. When I did the inspection their "system was down" and they didn't send me the report until the next morning which I should've been suspicious of to begin with. At any rate, I don't know what they gained from screwing me like this, it's not like I'll go to them for the repairs so a very short sighted business plan to filch ~$159 from a potential repeat customer! Save your money and sanity, stay away from these folks. read more

I called about checking on my brakes and getting an oil change at 12 and by 5:30 I was picking my car back up. This is a throwback to the old gas station/service stations that were everywhere when I was a kid. A guy sitting on a stool selling minimal refreshments with mechanics walking around everywhere. This was the first auto shop I've used since making the move from Richmond to Alexandria, and thankfully I found someone who was honest and had decent prices. They were quick to service my car, called twice during the work that was needed, and charged a lower price than any other NOVA mechanics quoted me. The added convenience of being within a very close walking distance makes this a big asset to the Old Town community. read more

I was on my way home on Friday 3/27/2020. My tire pressure symbol was lit along with the check engine light on my vehicle. I stop to get gas from this particular location, and while I was filing my gas tank up, I proceeded to walk up to the service station and ask the gentleman, would it be possible for me to get air in my tire? The gentleman said, yes; we can help you. He said once you finish getting gas, can you pull up to the service station and we will take care of you. He was extremely friendly and very professional. After I was done getting gas, I proceeded to pull up to the service station as requested. There was a second gentleman and he said to me, "Jeremy will be right back, he went to get something for your vehicle. I said okay and thank you. When Jeremy return back to my vehicle, the second gentleman who name is David, was just as nice and polite as well. David put the air in my tire, and Jeremy said; if your tire pressure indicator comes on again, please stop by the shop and we will place your vehicle on our lift to check all tires to see if there is a small leak or nail in your tire. I was very impress with the service that these two gentleman provided to me. They both was extremely professional, friendly and caring. They both showed concern, made me feel as if I was a valuable customer. I will definitely be doing business with this location again and will refer other family members, friends, and colleagues to Mr. Jeremy and Mr. David; if they are looking to get top notch service, which comes with respect and professionalism. If you are looking for a business that provides great service with a smile, please don't look no further! Stop by and see Jeremy or David, you will be highly impress with the service. My mother in law and I were in between running errands as a result of her husbands passing. We need to get a tire patch for a flat. We bring it in and as we are talking my mother in law starts to cry due to her recent loss. The GM immediately hugs her and mentions they will take care of the tire and have it ready in 30 minutes. We get a call to let us know it's done and when we pick up the car he comps the tire cost. Then he hugs her again. So nice. I go back and speak to Joseph the owner a week later and he remembers me. So does the GM. The GM talks me out of my brakes getting done as he thinks I should wait and proceeds to tell me I need new tires and an alignment. I shopped around and the tire cost he quoted me was spot on with tires.com. Great service. They care. This is my new shop. read more
