I made a few calls earlier this morning to get prices for state inspections and emission tests. When I called here they told me it would cost $8 and they said there was no line. I came around 1 1/2 hours after the call and they pulled my car into the garage for service immediately. They said it would be about 30 minutes so I took a walk in the neighborhood and enjoyed the nice spring weather. I thought the man said it would be $8 for each test/inspection but no! It was $8 TOTAL and they even have a sign outside to advertise that deal too! I came back in 30 minutes and luckily I only needed an inspection so I actually only paid $3 today. I would recommend this place to everyone for these services because they are priced well and work very fast. I will be back in a few months for my $5 emissions test LOL read more

I came to Metro Motor three times - once to replace tires and twice for an oil change. The tires cost me around $1350 and those were middle of the road tires. Both times I got an oil change it ended up costing me hundreds of dollars (I believe one was close to 1k) because I was told there were immediate repairs needed. Now, come to find out, at my last oil change they put my splash shield back wrong and all the bolts are rusted with the exception of one - where they used a ZIP TIE to secure it back on. Now, yet again, this next oil change is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to get those bolts off. I would not recommend Metro Motor. They took advantage of me and left my car worse than they found it. read more

I am extremely upset about this. I went to Metro Motor because my friend has gone here for years. I had an emergency where my no oil pressure warning went on and gave an "engine off" alert, so I went to Metro Motor. They said they would take a look and let me know. When I went back to pick up my car, I was informed that they were unable to fix my car and that I should bring it to Volkswagen Dealership for them to take a look at. After being told that they could not do anything for me, they still charged me $140 which is ridiculous and appalling. There was no manager on site to speak with about the charge. I told my friend and because of this, neither of us will go back. I should not have been charged $140 for a diagnostic. It even says on my invoice "tech unable." I would not recommend this place to anyone. I feel swindled to say the least. read more

I love this place. I used to come here before the pandemic, but this was my first experience with the new team. I had a very bizarre issue with something that had fallen under the seat of my car and wiggled its way into a narrow area that was impossible to see or reach. Tomas stopped what he was doing at 3:30 pm on a Friday to take my seat off and run a camera into the area to assess the issue. My vehicle was ready to go by 5 pm. I had an issue with my car's catalytic converter and they were able to diagnose and fix the issue, complete a state and emissions inspection and were able to complete everything well under the original quoted price. I ran over to Liberty and asked if they might be able to help. Orlando grabbed his jumpstart pack and walked the 5 blocks back to my car. Metro North quoted me their price for most cars because they overlooked the model in my quote request, which is an honest mistake. I took a used vehicle I was looking at to Metro Motor for a pre-purchase inspection. I was told they had ~250 point inspection and was charged ~$159 and they cleared it. Confident because I thought I had gotten the green light from professionals, and a manager Jeremy who assured me of the inspections quality, I purchased the vehicle that same week. Day one of driving I got a check engine light which, long story short, will be an expensive repair. Additionally, braking at really high speeds shakes the car at times. This makes me wonder if they even performed the damn inspection or if they're just incompetent and I can't tell which is worse. When I did the inspection their "system was down" and they didn't send me the report until the next morning which I should've been suspicious of to begin with. At any rate, I don't know what they gained from screwing me like this, it's not like I'll go to them for the repairs so a very short sighted business plan to filch ~$159 from a potential repeat customer! Save your money and sanity, stay away from these folks. read more

This is a throwback to the old gas station/service stations that were everywhere when I was a kid. A guy sitting on a stool selling minimal refreshments with mechanics walking around everywhere. This was the first auto shop I've used since making the move from Richmond to Alexandria, and thankfully I found someone who was honest and had decent prices. They were quick to service my car, called twice during the work that was needed, and charged a lower price than any other NOVA mechanics quoted me. I was on my way home on Friday 3/27/2020. My tire pressure symbol was lit along with the check engine light on my vehicle. I stop to get gas from this particular location, and while I was filing my gas tank up, I proceeded to walk up to the service station and ask the gentleman, would it be possible for me to get air in my tire? The gentleman said, yes; we can help you. He said once you finish getting gas, can you pull up to the service station and we will take care of you. He was extremely friendly and very professional. After I was done getting gas, I proceeded to pull up to the service station as requested. There was a second gentleman and he said to me, "Jeremy will be right back, he went to get something for your vehicle. I said okay and thank you. When Jeremy return back to my vehicle, the second gentleman who name is David, was just as nice and polite as well. David put the air in my tire, and Jeremy said; if your tire pressure indicator comes on again, please stop by the shop and we will place your vehicle on our lift to check all tires to see if there is a small leak or nail in your tire. I was very impress with the service that these two gentleman provided to me. They both was extremely professional, friendly and caring. They both showed concern, made me feel as if I was a valuable customer. I will definitely be doing business with this location again and will refer other family members, friends, and colleagues to Mr. Jeremy and Mr. David; if they are looking to get top notch service, which comes with respect and professionalism. My mother in law and I were in between running errands as a result of her husbands passing. We need to get a tire patch for a flat. We bring it in and as we are talking my mother in law starts to cry due to her recent loss. The GM immediately hugs her and mentions they will take care of the tire and have it ready in 30 minutes. We get a call to let us know it's done and when we pick up the car he comps the tire cost. Then he hugs her again. So nice. I go back and speak to Joseph the owner a week later and he remembers me. So does the GM. The GM talks me out of my brakes getting done as he thinks I should wait and proceeds to tell me I need new tires and an alignment. I shopped around and the tire cost he quoted me was spot on with tires.com. Great service. They care. This is my new shop. read more
