It must be an oversight that I never wrote a review of Mattress Xpress. We moved two years ago and…read morewent on a mattress-shopping mission, going to a couple big name stores and this place, which appears to be just a locally owned, stand-alone mattress store. Making any kind of big purchase can be fraught and stressful. You want to get a good deal, but it's like the people selling the things are trying to make that as difficult as possible. But I'm happy to say that getting our mattress at Mattress Xpress was probably the most pleasant "big purchase" shopping experience I've had. The showroom is absolutely massive, and no one was hanging around, watching our every move as we tried them out. We did meet Karl, and he directed us to some we'd like and answered any questions we had, but he mostly let us figure it out for ourselves, which was great because we were probably there for 1.5 hours going back and forth between our favorites. We ended up getting a great deal on a king size latex mattress. And even though it was one of the most expensive mattresses in their store, it was sooo much less than what you'd pay for a latex mattress elsewhere, and even less than a mid-range mattress at a big name store. We used to come back from traveling wishing that our bed at home was as comfortable as one in a hotel. Now that's reversed and our bed at home is more comfortable than any hotel.

MADE in the USA! The sales associate/design consultant I had was Paras Hilstro who was knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. She answered all of my questions that day and later in several emails. I was allowed to borrow 10 fabric samples to take home which helped me make a decision. I was able to place my order by phone which was very good. My furniture was arrived at Bassett two weeks ahead of the projected date. It was delivered 6 days before Thanksgiving which was perfect since I was hosting for the holiday. The delivery was flawless from competence of delivery men to setting up the furniture. I highly recommend Bassett Furniture for quality and value. In addition, I highly recommend Design Consultant Paras Hilstro for her excellent service including knowledge of this furniture line.

We have been customers of Kincaid for over a decade and have furnished our kitchen, dining room, great room and master bedroom there, as well as purchased many unique chairs, benches and tables from Kincaid. We are sticklers for quality in the sea of particle-board furniture offered at the local 800-pound gorillas. Kincaid's furniture is always made from the best materials (solid hardwood and durable leather) and is in a separate (higher) class in comparison to what is available elsewhere. We also have had two minor furniture malfunctions (one due to a toddler harming wood on a stool and the other due to doors not properly aligning on a hutch) and both times Kincaid stood 100% behind their piece and either repaired and/or replaced the damaged items, hassle-free. It's apparent that they have a set format that they follow to ascertain what your needs and wants are in order to provide you with the various options to meet those needs. If our sales rep did not know the answer to a question, she promptly inquired with a supervisor to find the answer. We were encouraged to try various mattresses in the store that met our criteria to help us make a final decision. After returning home to take some final measurements, we returned the following day to make the purchase. As should be expected, an effort was made to up-sale certain accessories and services. None were unreasonable, however. A holiday sale was in progress, so we were able to obtain a free adjustable base, and a free mattress protector, in addition to the $500 reduction in the cost of the queen size mattress. While delivery to the front door would have been free, we opted for the platinum service at a sale price of $120, which included removal of the old mattress and base, and setup of the new adjustable base and mattress. The day before the agreed upon delivery date, a text message was sent to our cell phone identifying a 2-hour window within which we could expect delivery on the following day. On the delivery date, a text message and an email were received, within the 2-hour window, to let us know that the delivery truck was approximately 20 minutes away. The delivery staff were on time, efficient, and very careful with the removal of the old mattress and base, and the setup of the new base and mattress. Nothing negative to report.
