Traveled to half a dozen for dealers before I discovered Metro Ford. If you're looking for a 'palace' of all things FORD this is probably not the place - as this dealership is one of the originals from the Western Avenue Car Dealer Row - but if you're looking for the best possible deal on a new vehicle you should check these guys out. I love their idea keep the show room simple overhead low and best possible prices are given... I did not work with a single person but this team acted like a family and took me through the buying process with as little pain as I've ever experienced an auto dealership. Avery, Cesar and the whole team were great to work with! If you're worried about buying in the city is the fourth vehicle I've purchased within the city limits and I've always lived in the suburbs - I think you can get a better deal in the city then you can in the burbs. metro ford is a dump and by far the WORST service dept. I've EVER dealt this. This isn't a rant for simple things; NO... These are issues that if you put yourself in my shoes you would think WTF!?!?!? I have went there 4 times and EACH time there was an issue! The latest two issues? (Have a seat and a pastry for this): I bought a FIXD module for my 2016 ford transit connect that I use for my business in which a P420 Code came up which is an issue with the Cat converter. I replaced cat converter where I bought the van from but the other issues to clear the code was to replace a bulb in the right rear parking light (Which I did) and replace the rear camera/wiring harness. I replaced the rear camera but it stopped working. I go sorry ass metro ford to have the rear camera wiring harness replace and they ask me "WHY? who told you to do that?" I tell them what I typed above. They replaced the harness and the female service rep came and told them that they check EVERYTHING and it still didn't work and it would cost be over 400 bucks to fix it (Now remember this because it gets BETTER!) I tell them no I will fix it myself. I go to my van and start it up and REGGAETON IS BLASTING THRU MY SPEAKERS!!! "WTH is this!" I scream! I turn off my vehicle and go back inside to speak to the service manager and he ran the "Oh I'm so terribly sorry sir I will speak to the mechanic so this won't happen again.."blah blah blah. A week later I get a letter from ford about a recall on the rear camera not working and that they are working on a fix. I didn't have time for that because the engine light keeps coming on with the error. I order a new camera and install it; STILL not working; THEN I thought..Did they check the Fuse? I pulled the fuse and it was burned to hell! Replaced the fuse and the camera worked with NO ISSUE. Went back to metro because they contacted me saying I needed an oil change. I go there and ask them to pull up the last mechanics notes to see what steps he took; GUESS WHAT THEY DIDN'T have any and told me I didn't ask for that! They said what I asked for was the wiring harness to be installed! Now does that sound like what I said above? "Hugo" tried to tell me a Line of BS that I wasn't falling for and I told him that the female service rep told me in fact that they DID check and the camera still didn't work. "Hugo" then told me that he would talk to her then come back to me; THAT NEVER HAPPENED. SO I'm waiting on both my oil change And the replacement of my cabin filter; And hour and a half later I get A TEXT MESSAGE SAYING THAT MY OIL CHANGE WAS COMPLETE AND GO TO THE CASH CAGE TO PAY AND PICK UP MY KEYS. The oil change was 79 bucks so it came up to be $81.86 which mean the cabin filter wasn't installed.. In the past if something wasn't available they would call you to the door or the desk and tell you that something wasn't available but could be put "on order". I go to my van and drive home only to look at my receipt to see that the cabin filter was "NOT AVAILABLE FOR THIS VEHICLE" AND THAT I DECLINED SERVICE TO REPLACE MY FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS WHICH FAILED INSPECTION!!" "HUGO" NEVER CAME TO ME AND MENTION ANY OF THIS! I WOULD HAVE PAID TO HAVE THEM REPLACED RIGHT THEN AND THERE! What happen to "caring about the customer!? In the past they would have came to you and told you"Hey your brakes are bad and need to be replaced IMMEDIATELY and it will cost this amount of money; if I said no THEN I'VE JUST DECLINED THE OFFER! I'M OVER THE BS FROM THIS SORRY MEXICAN CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I'VE RECEIVED ( Please?? don't you dare say this is racist because it isn't Go metro ford's service area and see who will help you out! I purchased a Ford Escape August 2 2021 Didn't leave the dealer until after 9pm everything is good until Today August 16 2021 around 9am as I was leaving I turned on my truck and notice the Check light was on!! Called before hand and after waiting for over half an hour I was told the person who has my paper work went on lunch, after I asked. There is a sign on a desk that says, "I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you." Funny. Makes me feel like the customer is *respected*. After inquiring about a specific Bronco Sport, Juan in customer service called ASAP and let me know one had just been delivered and that he could hold it for me (for a refundable deposit). I am super late at posting on here. I bought my 2013 Dodge Dart SXT from Metro Ford in November 2013. I probably wouldn't have bought it but I met the best sales guy ever! AVERY LAWRENCE! He is an absolute gem. He is what makes buying a car fun and a pleasurable experience. I was able to get my car at a VERY GOOD PRICE! The car is amazing. Black, tints, sound system.. this was everything I wanted in a car. At the time I bought it, I was in a job transition. He worked with me and was able to help me secure a loan that worked perfect for my wallet. SO... I know there may be other great people there but FIRST talk to Avery!! He's a nice, cool, family man who can empathize and help. Fantastic service here. I was experiencing an unusual car noise on the front passenger side. I called here in the early afternoon to ask about coming on (on Columbus Day) and they were a little hesitant with the amount of time I may have to wait. I went anyhow and yes, I did need to wait a few hours, however they have a nice waiting room inside with comfortable chairs and a swivel table top for you to rest a laptop or book. they also have free WIFI to connect to. I was able to connect without any issues and was able to work while I waited. The noise was difficult to determine and there were two car specialists that I talked with and we even drove around to better determine what the noise was. It ended up being a foreign object that was stuck in the car frame itself. They were very thorough and offered as much of an explanation as they were able to. I walked out with a noise free clean car. Overall pleasant and friendly staff. Happy to have the problem fixed with great customer service as well. read more

I just purchased a used car from Metro Ford. I was a bit nervous going in and have had issues with seedy dealers in the past, so I was excited and pleasantly surprised with Metro Ford! The staff is friendly and upfront. I never felt as if they were trying to hide any fees or take advantage of my limited knowledge of buying a used car. Overall their sales staff was very transparent when It came down to financing. My only word of caution is you might have to drive through some unsafe areas to get there. I bought a 2013 Escape with less then 50000 miles on it from them in January. I didn't buy a warranty because my last car was a Ford and never have an major issue with it till it was over 10 years old. In the last 2 months I have had thousands of dollars of repairs. The transmission went out, and it couldn't keep coolant for longer then a month. Neither the manufacturer or the dealer stood by the car they sold me. HORRIBLE experience at Metro Ford this morning. They lost a once loyal customer. I will never drive out of my way to come here again. I live in Lincoln Square and work in Hyde Park, and drive to this location to get car service. NOT anymore. I went to Metro Ford this morning to get a few different services. I called ahead of time and was told I didn't need an appointment but just to stop in around 9AM. I showed up a little before 9AM and told the check-in guy that I needed to have my car looked at because our service engine soon light came on, we got a letter about a recall, we needed our oil changed, tires rotated and windshield wipers replaced. When we bought our car we were told that anytime we dropped off the car for service we could borrow a car from the shop temporarily while ours was being fixed. I asked about this because I needed to get right back to work. The guy told me they didn't have any more cars left, and that he didn't know when they would have any (hours? days? he didn't know). Annoying! Why offer a service if you aren't actually going to deliver? He then told me that checking the service engine soon light would take "days" and I'd have to leave my car with them, without getting a replacement car. Yeah, that's not going to work. I commute each day from the north side to Hyde Park. I told him to just do the recall, oil change, tire rotation and windshield wipers and asked how long it was going to take. Forty-five minutes was his response. I decided to wait in the waiting room since it was going to be so quick. Otherwise, I would've taken a cab to work and come back later to get my car. Fast forward an hour and a half. I am still in the waiting room and am wondering what is taking so long. I go out into the shop to check on the car. A guy tells me that it's not done yet and it'll take "about forty-five more minutes". Is this a sick joke?! I tell him that I was originally told 45 minutes and that I really need my car back to get back to work. He shrugs his shoulders at me and says he'd check to see. I go back into the waiting room and wait. And wait. And wait. TWO AND A HALF HOURS after I get there, I go back out into the shop and demand they give me my car immediately. I'm told that my car STILL isn't done. I tell them I don't care, I need to get back to work! They took about 20-25 minutes to get my car to me and get my paperwork, so from the time I arrived until the time I left it took about 3 hours for my "forty-five" minute appointment. Seriously?! I arrived before 9AM and left at NOON. The only reason I brought the car to this location is because we had such a great experience purchasing our car here and having a few other things done (new tires, replace tire after hitting a pothole, etc.) but we will NEVER be coming back to this location. This wait would've been fine with me if they had actually communicated that it was taking longer than expected but I heard nothing. Instead I had to chase down answers and look like a jerk in the process. The other thing is don't tell me it's going to take 45 minutes if you know it's going to take longer. I would've happily left the car and gone back to work via cab. Instead, you've lost a customer due to your poor customer service. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

First time here, have mixed feelings but not holding it against Metro Ford. Came here to get my old 2002 Ford Mustang serviced. Driver side window went down but wouldn't come back up. Figured better to take it to a Ford dealership where they specialize in my model rather than a general car mechanic. It was a very hot day in Chicago, drove in to the service lot and they said it would take an hour and cost $119 for labor & inspection, i said sure. Their waiting room had air conditioning (the only cool air in the whole place). But it is not strong enough, so prepare to sweat a bit while you wait. At least there is a TV to keep you distracted. Waited in their waiting room for an hour and a half before I decided to walk out to see what was going on. The guy said they were done he just had to print out my paperwork and they would bring the car around. I waited, waited and waited for 20 more minutes. The service rep finally comes with my paperwork and says my car would be right over. I wait, wait, and wait another 20 minutes and I walk back out and the guy is like "they haven't brought your car yet?!" I was like "NO!" and he apologizes and personally goes to get my car. I sit down and am about to drive away when I notice that the door panel was loose around the buttons and practically just sitting there, loose and on the verge of hanging off. I was like really!? Yes, the window worked now, but the panel appeared to be broken. I told the guy, he apologizes again and takes my car back. I wait another 30 minutes. They bring my car back finally, this time with the panel fixed and the car clean because they gave me a complimentary wash. So all in-all, the place fixed my car and gave me a car wash. AND instead of charging me the $119, they charged me $56. So they did make up for the inconvenience and hassle. I just wish it had not gone down this way. In case you were not keeping track, what should have taken an hour, took me 2hrs and 40 minutes. The place seems to care about keeping their customers happy but they are not effectively managing their time and employees effectively. I will try them once more if another issue should arise with my vehicle, but if it is just as bad, I will probably switch car and model for a dealership with better service. read more

Previous impression and 5-star Customer Service rating shot to pieces -it did not guarantee against Service disappointment. (CS exception being one "Manager", whose office is right outside of the Service Dept., who wouldn't even get his arse off his chair when visited, as if an employee were coming to see his highness). Last time, a couple of months ago, oil change and new tyres purchase for a 2008 Focus: (Just yesterday, I discovered that the wheel lug nuts were SO DAMNED TIGHTENED that I needed a pipe as an extension to be able to loosen them -good luck if I had been on the road, with just the short lug-nut wrench! Some fool evidently does not understand that the air tool torque needs to be adjusted to be used on small nuts, my guess...). That time, the coolant reservoir was "replenished" so that, with the engine COLD, I found it to be 1cm. OVER the HOT mark; I also had to remove 1/2 quart of engine oil -makes you wonder just why the manufacturer has MAX FILL markings... And whoever heard of tyre air pressure -this time it was not 2lbs over in each one, but 4-5! You simply have to check everything they did yourself). This time, the Focus was brought in on a Saturday regarding a banging sound audible when rolling on uneven, bumpy pavement. Upon arrival, I invited one of the service writers to get in the car and drove over the garage entrance bump, which demonstrated the issue. After sitting for about a half hour, the car was driven out of the garage, presumably for a road test. After a long while, I went out and saw the car about to be driven off the premises; I got in with the genius driving it with the A/C on and both windows open, trying to hear the noise... (!) I suggested that he close the windows and, abra-cadabra, he could hear the noise underneath... The car was taken back in and hoisted up, and nothing was being done. Except that, finally, the genius started removing the wheels -because a missing tyre-pressure sensor was going to be installed, at the tune of $99; since it no longer was known which wheel it belonged in, after the tyre change last time, he had to look for the right one, right? (It turned out that an additional piece costing $50 was needed and had to be ordered, which no longer made us want the sensor -as expensive as TWO TYRES). Regarding the under-carriage noise, after all of these 2 1/2 hours, we were told that there are no mechanics working on Saturdays, therefore the car would have to be brought in on a week-day, and things would have to start being taken apart in the process of finding the source of the noise! (Forget it). And this is where it REALLY gets interesting: The car was taken by the owner to a neighborhood shop where the mechanic -not a Ford "Technician"- IMMEDIATELY recognised the noise as a faulty SWAY BAR, which was damaged on one of Chicago's FOURTH WORLD streets pot-holes, and, upon inspection, confirmed his "diagnosis". Conclusion: You have to be OFF YOUR ROCKER to bring in your vehicle to a dealership -Ford, at least and SPECIFICALLY METRO. (I caught a different Ford dealership service Dept. trying to rip me off regarding labor time, which I knew better about AND was corroborated by their computer system, which specifies the time allotment for each and any work, this one being a simple replacement of a worn out front wheel bearing assembly). Since then I've had an unacceptable service experience with the dealership and posted a tip to avoid them. I am incredibly disappointed. I purchased my car from there about a year and a half ago and since then, I have gotten all of my vehicle upkeep and repair services done there as well. I really wanted to form a sense of loyalty with this place. 2 months ago, I bought new tires from them. This was a very thought out, researched, and difficult decision for me. I thought of this purchase as an investment. About a month after my new tires were put on, while I was pumping gas, I noticed something strange about my back tire. It had a slight bulge in it. It didn't make any sense to me, especially since they were brand new tires. I mean, I had not done a full inspection on my vehicle after their service and now I wish I had. I called Metro Ford and they said I would need to bring it in for inspection, in order to determine what could be done. So, I took it in, only to be told that the damage to my tire was probably caused by a pothole. There was nothing they could do about it and said they suggested that I purchase a new tire because now mine was unsafe. I JUST bought those tires!!! I just spent money on new tires, labor, and while I was getting my tire checked out, I decided to get an oil change there too. First, I get that you are a business. I get that you are doing what businesses do, making money. What I don't understand is how you can decide with a glance how the damage to my tire was caused. I know I had to have hit plenty of potholes in my life and not once did a tire of mine bulge out like that. I had barely put any wear and tear on those tires. How could I, I only had them for about a month! I did not purchase another tire from them and I won't be spending any more money at this location. The team at Metro went above and beyond to help me replace a bad tire so I could get home to see my kids after a week of being on the road. Two other dealerships didn't even pick up the phone but the crew here not only found the right tires but kept the doors open until we could get my car towed there and made sure I was back on the road.
